Zane leaned back, steepling his hands as he tilted his head to the side slightly. His unreadable eyes locked onto the elderly man.
"Right, Mr Everett. Protocol exists for a reason. But if this project can bring profit and elevate the company's image, I will not hesitate to acquire it from him—KS Group only, without EMT claiming any stake," he said, his voice carrying a sharp warning that made Gilbert pause and reconsider.
Leah and Gilbert froze. Their brows knitted tight, perplexed, and at the same time curious.
They knew Zane rarely let greed or interest show, yet here he was, acknowledging William's project as legitimate.
"What is happening?"
"Is this a divided project?"
"Could this actually work?" board members murmured, glancing at one another.
"I'd like to see it," Zane commanded, leaving no room for argument.
William's nervous eyes darted across the expectant faces. Taking a deep breath, he rose and distributed the printed drafts to the table.
