Selina closed her eyes tightly, forcing herself to push away the images she had seen on the tablet—the brutal assault, the gunshot, Zane's cruelty. Even knowing he was alive, she felt the weight of his suffering.
She still didn't understand why he had suddenly changed his mind and brought him here. And that uncertainty frightened her most, despite the deal between them.
