Volume 1 Chapter 246: Ward Off Evil
It had been raining for three days straight, but by Monday, the sky finally cleared.
Yan Xinya sat in the classroom, bored out of her mind. She lazily played with her tail in one hand and lay on the desk, yawning.
She stared longingly at the classroom door and complained to Lily, "Ever since Ning Chu moved out, she hasn't come to hang out with us."
"Mhm," Lily responded.
"She's been out there doing couple things with Wen Yang, and I can't even get a glimpse of it~" Her ears twitched as she continued, "I heard Wen Yang's been going to Ning Chu's rental place every day this week. He even stays the night often."
"You think… they've already… done it?"
Lily didn't respond, her face blank.
"No matter how conservative Ning Chu is, when she's in heat, she probably can't hold back, right?" The wolf girl lifted her head to look at Lily. "If you got a boyfriend, how long would it take before you gave it up?"
"..."
After a moment of silence, a faint blush appeared on Lily's fair cheeks. She turned her head and said softly, "I don't know."
"One day?"
"I hate men."
"Ehh~ I don't believe you!"
Suddenly, Yan Xinya's wolf ears twitched again. She sat up straight and looked toward the classroom door.
Her sharp hearing had already picked up on some familiar footsteps in the hallway.
But when two tall figures and a smaller one appeared, the wolf girl froze. "Huh? A cat girl?"
She stared at the little cat girl holding hands with Ning Chu and Wen Yang, surprised. "Can succubi even give birth to cat girls?"
"..."
Lily just rolled her eyes at her. This girl's obsession with shipping had clearly rotted her brain.
Ning Chu and Wen Yang hadn't even been together that long—how could they already have a kid?
Still, she turned to look at the three who had just entered the classroom and suddenly understood why Yan Xinya asked that question.

Wen Yang, worried about causing unnecessary gossip, quickly let go of Black Bean's hand and entered the classroom first.
"Wen Yang! Who's that little cat girl?" Yan Xinya immediately ran over excitedly the moment he sat down. "Is she you and Ning Chu's love child~?"
Wen Yang leaned away from the wolf girl, forcing a smile. "Ning Chu's cousin. She's just here to hang out."
He and Ning Chu had already discussed their cover story over the weekend.
"Cousin? Doesn't she go to school?"
"Well…"
He quickly came up with something. "She was sick and took a semester off. Now that she's feeling better, she came to visit Ning Chu."
"Oh~"
Only then did Ning Chu arrive with Black Bean and sit beside Wen Yang.
She was a bit nervous, worried Black Bean might suddenly call her "Mom" in front of everyone—which would be mortifying.
But she also couldn't bring herself to leave Black Bean home alone for four or five hours.
What if she trashed the place?

Before that hand could even touch Black Bean, the little cat girl nervously clutched at Ning Chu's clothes.
Ning Chu quickly stopped the wolf girl. "She's scared of you."
"Huh? What's she scared of me for?"
Isn't it perfectly normal for cats to be afraid of dogs?
Ning Chu grumbled inwardly and casually explained, "She's just shy and introverted."
"Oh, I see~" Yan Xinya gave up her attempt to pet the cat girl and instead rested her chin in her hands, teasing Ning Chu with a smile. "You three looked just like a little family in the hallway~"
"Anyone who didn't know better would think she's your daughter!"
Ning Chu shot her a glare. "I'm not even twenty yet—how could I have a daughter that big?"
In truth, the two of them looked more like sisters. Ning Chu's face still held a youthful innocence, looking more like a high school student. The age gap between her and Black Bean seemed like five or six years at most.
Black Bean was surprisingly obedient. As soon as she sat down, she laid her head on the desk and instantly dozed off.
Ning Chu rested her chin in her hand, playing with Black Bean's ears and hair. Her expression was gentle, but inside she was full of worry.
It had only been two days, but her whole life had been thrown into chaos by this cat...

She looked up and followed his gaze toward the classroom door—only to see a girl in red just stepping into the room.

The ghost girl stopped at the doorway and scanned the classroom. Her eyes widened in surprise when they landed on Wen Yang.
Judging by her reaction, she had probably just picked a classroom at random to find her next victim, only to unexpectedly run into Wen Yang again.
"Eh? Sister An?" Yan Xinya recognized her and was just about to wave hello when Ning Chu frantically stopped her.
"Don't!"
"What's wrong?" the wolf girl asked, puzzled. She turned to look at Ning Chu's tense expression, thought for a moment, then her eyes lit up in realization. "Ohh~ You're jealous?"

Ning Chu was just worried that An An couldn't handle Wen Yang's overwhelmingly strong yang energy and would get obliterated on the spot!
Even she, a succubus, could barely handle it.
Yan Xinya was used to Ning Chu's diamond-hard tsundere routine. She glanced at An An, who was walking toward them, and muttered, "I didn't even greet her, but she came over anyway~"
