I followed my mother's pointed finger, and locked eyes with Magnus who looked like he would rather disappear from the room.

I said in my head, even though I knew it was true. My heartbeat was accelerating again.
He didn't deny it, he just looked pleadingly from Dylan to Declan, both of whom had remained quiet all this while.
"You killed my babies," my mother cried while Antonio comforted her. "Gustavus would be all grown up now if you hadn't killed him." She added as more tears poured from her eyes. Her tears were contagious because I soon felt a sting in my eyes.
"Regina too would be–" She couldn't complete the sentence as she burst into fresh tears.
I looked on, with my heart heavy, and with eyes that stung. They were captured after all, but why did Gustavus not say that as well?
Her cries were more pitiful now, and it was shredding my hearts into tiny pieces. Watching her sob was not difficult any more, it was simply impossible.
