Kakashi dissipated his Susanoo. The only thing standing around was the mansion as everything else including the walls of the mansion were destroyed.
The beautiful home that had sheltered mutant children for decades now looked like a war zone. The children inside were safe, but the building itself had paid a heavy price.
Kakashi thought, 'He was really here for Charles.' He scanned the faces of the X-Men. They stood in stunned silence.
Others clenched their fists so hard their knuckles turned white. Jean stared at the spot where Charles had been. Her hands shook. Scott kept touching his visor as if he could not believe what he had just seen.
Logan snarled low in his throat, claws sliding in and out. They had lost their teacher as well as their leader. The man who had given them a home. The man who had believed in them when no one else did.
Logan shouted as he took the leadership role. "Stop wabbling like headless chickens. We will get Professor back."
The X-Men snapped out of their shock.
Someone asked in a shaky voice, "How did… he managed to take Professor and leave so soon?"
Kakashi replied, "He was able to create a portal."
He thought, 'Teleportation. That's a rare ability. Then there is energy projection capable of generating very strong blasts, creating an energy barrier and that armor looked strong and durable too. So maybe super strength too and durability too. And if he could snatch Charles' body, we are looking at him having mind control powers too. We need to find him fast before he takes his body, I don't suppose that the process would be fast.'
'And if he could teleport large distances, we would also have to make sure that he does not escape but judging from how he spoke, he would be too arrogant to escape from us mortals.'
Kakashi looked at Jean and said, "Are you not a telepath yourself? Stronger than Charles even if I am not wrong. Can't you find him with Cerebro?"
Jean hesitated. Her voice was small. "I can't control my powers that well like Professor."
Cap stepped forward. His voice was gentle but firm. "Try it. It is better than just waiting. Besides, with your help we might just find Charles."
Jean nodded with a determined expression on her face as she with Hank went to Cerebro. The rest of the group watched them go. Hope flickered in their eyes.
Logan looked at the Avengers and Kakashi just nodded. He had accepted to help them even if it was not their world and Charles was not their leader.
Tony came to Kakashi and said with a wry smile, "And we are here saving this Earth as well. We were supposed to be Earth's mightiest heroes not Earths plural mightiest heroes."
Kakashi just grunted, "We have to do this if we have to find Erik and ask him the location of his daughter."
It took a day for Jean to find Charles and that too with the help of Charles sending some emergency telepathic signals.
Enough to give her a direction. He was in Cairo, Egypt.
Hank readied two of the X-Men quinjets to take both the X-Men and Avengers there.
"Tony stay back here," Kakashi said to Tony who looked confused and asked, "Huh why?"
Kakashi explained calmly. "Apocalypse had said Magneto has… joined his cause. And with his powers you would be dead before even you take a shot at him."
Mystique butted in. "Erik would never join his cause. He must be lying."
Kakashi looked at her. "Does not matter. If he did, then Tony would end up dying. We can't have that."
Tony smirked. "Aww, are you worrying about me? Don't worry about me though. I have already prepared for it in the past days. Hank had mentioned getting some good quality copper and lead which I had used to cover the inside of the armor as well as add a little to the outside. With them having anti-magnetic properties, Magneto would not be able to control it."
Kakashi nodded at that pleased with his preparation. Tony's foresight was impressive. He had adapted quickly.
Then the X-Men left a couple X-Men behind to protect the kids and mansion and with the Avengers boarded the quinjet.
The flight was quiet. The jets cut through the sky at high speed.
After reaching a desert in Cairo Egypt, they saw a large pyramid in the coordinates that were shared by Jean with Professor.
The pyramid rose from the sand like a mountain made by human hands.
More than that, there was also a large fortress that was currently being made entirely out of metal being made in front of it by a floating old man who manipulated metal.
Metal twisted and bent in the air. Beams rose from the sand. Plates snapped together. Walls formed within seconds.
"Erik…" Mystique muttered.
Kakashi thought, 'So much for him not joining the cause.'
Logan growled low. "We barge straight in. We don't have time to waste. Our priority would be to find Charles."
The quinjets had landed way further back so that Erik did not just control them and have them crash.
Kakashi looked at the large amounts of metal that Erik was able to control and thought, 'He is controlling way more metal than the Third Kazekage could control iron sand. He is going to be a tough one to beat.'
