After leaving, Nie Jiaqi no longer had the heart to stroll around the garden, her mind was preoccupied, and she spoke little along the way, while Nie Kaihuan seemed quite interested, admiring the scenery around.
Nie Jiaqi was feeling very low, always thinking that her heart felt as if something was weighing on it, making it hard for her to breathe.
Previously, Hou Baiyu treated everyone the same way, so she didn't feel anything. Now, suddenly, he showed such an expression to a little girl, and Nie Jiaqi couldn't sit still anymore.
Clearly, she was the one who met Hou Baiyu first, clearly, she attended every gathering that Hou Baiyu was part of. But why couldn't Hou Baiyu see her?
No matter how her brother consoled her, she knew there was no official relationship between Hou Baiyu and her, she simply lacked the standing to meddle in his affairs with women around him. Everything was just her wishful thinking.
Today's events told her exactly this.
