Having been fairly warned in advance, everyone took the rest time on the 50th floor seriously, opting to do whatever they felt would be relaxing, and restful, which ended up mostly being sleeping on the soft coat of fur the wolves had.
Shurry spent the time bathing in a creek. Unbothered by everything around him, which included many eyes, especially the eyes of the thirsty Amazoness that were down on this trip. Then there were the most pervy race of them all, elves, who felt a sense of absolute responsibility to be nearby when Luna was gracing them with her appearance, this responsibility doubled when Tera joined them to splash around.
The gods had their own feelings about the scene, though they didn't bother protesting the situation at this stage. Shurry had them in a position now where they could only listen to his orders. Though they did have a short conversation.
"This scene, it's like Thor…" Freya mentioned, thinking about it.
"You mean to say this is just the calm?" Takemikazuchi asked, with a slightly raised brow.
"Yes, this Shurry, his soul is something else."
"Well, that's what happens when a mortal reaches the barrier." Hathor commented, with a slight pride.
"You're just acting this way because in his timeline, he was in your familia." Loki grumbled.
"Don't let it bother you too much Loki. He's already gone out of his way for us." Miach calmly stated.
"That's right!" Ganesha stated loudly, and proudly. "Ganesha is grateful to see these scenes of his children bravely pushing their barriers to grow." He added. "Oh, I am Ganesha."
"You're right, Ganesha. Seeing my children face down Balor like that… I was so proud of them." Freya explained. "It was just so exhilarating."
"Did you get your desire to live as a goddess back?" Hestia asked, hiding the worry in her voice.
"Hmm? Nope. I like being the cute waitress so much more." Freya giggled. "But seeing them like this has made me want to reward them well."
Shurry walked over to where the gods were resting, still just as bare as he was in the bath, though there was no need to worry about that, at least not for him.
"Oh my, you're body… It's…" Freya trembled, feeling a warm sensation.
"Listen up. You will all obey every last order I give while we're moving. Do you understand?" Shurry said, making sure it was clear.
"Will you ravage me?" Freya smirked.
"No, though you are a woman, I have zero interest in partaking of you." Shurry flatly stated, unbothered by the teasing. "All of you must understand by now, the dungeon is not a trivial place. I can guarantee your safety while we're down here, but you must follow my orders for this next part. Otherwise it's too dangerous for you to go any further."
"I'm game. You said we're going to the 66th floor, I find that interesting. I wonder what kind of ingredients I can manage to use. What kind of potions will they make?" Miach claimed the first place spot in respect. And was quickly followed up by the rest.
Shurry crossed his arms and nodded. "Good, floor 66 is where training will begin for real. How I look right now, you'll all need to get used to seeing others in a state like this." He said.
"Why's that?" Hestia couldn't help but ask.
"The exact reason I said the last time you asked a stupid question about it." Shurry said with an annoyed groan. "My training will result in extensive growth. Look at Bell, for example. You really think he learned all of that simply because a few people gave him some pointers? No, I gave him the prototype for the hardest training yet. I've refined it since then. So get ready, and keep yourselves healthy, you'll be doing a bunch of updates daily, very soon. Oh, and no cheating with that status thief garbage. Use it and I'll let the dungeon absorb you."
"That's a hell of a threat. I suppose you have a good reason for it though, right?" Takemikazuchi asked.
"I do, indeed. It will become evident after you see the way they grow. A god's Ichor is always the best catalyst for one's update."
"Then why didn't you take Hathor down here first thing?"
"Admittedly, I wanted to try it out myself, at least once, and I didn't like doing it. It felt… off… I don't know how, or why."
Some time later, and the death defying run to the 66th floor was about to begin. The gods were wrapped in a protective barrier that could withstand even Bell's attack. Lower leveled adventurers were geared, and ready, their game face was on, though they were all riding on wolves, each wolf happy about the chance to serve their alpha's call.
The higher leveled adventurers were only equipped with the bare minimum required. There was a tension in the air as they realized what they were about to do.
Allen, Bete, Tiona, Tione, and Ais were serving as the Vanguard. Leon, Ottar, and a handful of others were the rearguard. And everyone else was placed positions within the midguard where their abilities would be best suited.
"Remember, once the 58th floor is cleared, Bell, you'll switch with Ais, and lead the vanguard forward down the path through all of the floors past until we arrive on the 66th floor."
"Understood, I've got the path memorized, I'll get us there without a problem. But, what should we do if we find those monsters there?"
"I'll simply add them to my pack, my aura is far too strong for any wolf to even think of resisting. Not even Freya can charm them."
"Oh? Is that so?"
"If you want to try, you can when we arrive on the 66th floor. But not a moment sooner."
"Alright!"
Shurry looked around, and smirked. "Prepare yourselves, when I say the word we will depart." He said, taking a deep breath making the others tense up preparing to move, but he just exhaled.
Bell was mimicking Shurry's actions right now, remembering what it was all for. The focus of perfectly controlled breathing was not to be underestimated.
Shurry continued for several minutes, each one that passed, generated sweat and tension with everyone except for Shurry and Bell. And then…
"Advance!"
…
