While Xavier and the other Constellations were chatting, the Constellation of Gates remained silent, quietly observing.
She did not like what these humans had begun to prioritize. Their obsession with treasure over lives was slowly derailing the plan she had carefully set in motion for this world.
If things continued like this, countless lives would be lost once her planned event began.
The Twelve Waves.
A catastrophe where monster gates would erupt across the world, growing more violent and uncontrollable with each wave.
She could already see it.
Greed would lead them straight to ruin.
And so, she began to consider another plan.
One that involved her newly contracted worker.
A man who, in her eyes, seemed perfectly suited for the role.

Xavier was discharged two days later.
The Federation no longer bothered him. They had likely investigated everything about him, digging through his past and background, only to find nothing unusual.
Just an ordinary man.
At least, that was what the records said.
When he returned to his apartment, he found his landlady already waiting by the door.
She was an elderly woman, wearing thin glasses and a long duster, her arms crossed as she stared at him.
"I heard what happened," she said bluntly. "And I also heard you lost your job since your company shut down."
Her gaze sharpened.
"So tell me… can you still pay rent now that you're unemployed?"
Xavier forced a small smile.
"Good morning, Miss Lidia."
He called her "Miss" out of habit. Despite her age, she had never married.
"From what I know, I still have a week before my rent is due," he continued. "And don't worry. I already found a new job."
She raised a brow, clearly unconvinced.
"And what job would that be?"
Xavier hesitated for a second.
"…Entertainment," he said.
She stared at him for a moment.
Then suddenly burst out laughing.
"Well, I suppose you do have potential as a comedian with that face of yours."
Xavier's eye twitched slightly.
That was… unnecessarily offensive.
"I assume you're working at some comedy bar," she continued, still chuckling. "Make sure to give me a free ticket someday. I'm sure I'll laugh just seeing you stand on stage."
She waved her hand dismissively as she turned away.
"Whatever the job is, as long as you pay rent!"
And with that, she left.
Xavier let out a quiet sigh before opening the door and stepping inside.
Finally.
His room.
Quiet again.
He flopped onto his bed and opened his status window, staring at it carefully.

"…Yeah. Still not applicable."
He had already checked this back at the hospital, and no matter how many times he looked, nothing changed.
He had even tried asking his sponsor again.
No response.
"Being a mysterious, nonchalant type doesn't make you cool, you know!"
His voice echoed through the empty room.
Above him, the Constellations burst into laughter.
"It's giving me a headache," Xavier muttered.
And the zero in charisma only made things worse.
Tyrant of Blazing Flame:
"Cheer up, big guy! The GM is probably just busy."
"Busy doing what?"
…
No answer.
Xavier frowned.
"How am I supposed to understand anything if you guys won't even tell me?"
Sovereign of Wind:
"We can't help it. It's [his] order. If we disobey, we might get banned."
"Banned from what?"
…
Silence again.
Xavier clenched his jaw.
Being kept in the dark felt awful.
"At least explain why my level and class are 'not applicable.'"
Observer of Malice:
"Well… technically, it might be because your sponsor is the GM."
A pause.
"But don't ask for more. I'm not telling you either."
"…Fine."
Xavier grumbled under his breath.
As he lay there, staring at the ceiling, the Constellations continued chatting among themselves.
Seeker of Fortune:
"Looks like I won't be choosing a contractor this year again."
Observer of Malice:
"Same here. No way I'm winning in the 'chosen hero' category. I'll just stick to betting."
Seeker of Fortune:
"Exactly! And what better investment than our little buddy here?"
Sovereign of Wind:
"I heard the GM was summoned by the Rulers because of this. Seems they're discussing why she chose to sponsor someone personally."
Defier of Fate:
"…I wonder how that turned out.I'm worried about [him]..."
