Chapter 19 - Peace and Privacy

"Help me…"

Xavier buried his face into his pillow.

"I can't freaking sleep!"

His voice came out muffled, half-choked in frustration.

The Constellations had been talking non-stop for hours.

Hours.

It was already past midnight, and instead of silence, his mind was flooded with constant notifications, messages, reactions, and whatever nonsense these cosmic beings found entertaining.

He shot up from his bed, hair a mess, and eyes twitching.

"Hey! Can you people let me sleep?!"

The notifications paused for half a second.

Xavier took a deep breath before continuing, pointing at the empty air as if they were standing right in front of him.

"You can keep talking without sending everything through my notifications, right? Like… I don't know… meet up somewhere? A café? A bar? Somewhere that's not infront of me?!"

A brief silence followed.

Then—

Tyrant of Blazing Flame:

"No. That would be too tiring. I don't want to leave my lair and travel over twenty galaxies just to get to Divinia if there's no official event."

Xavier blinked.

"…You're serious?"

Observer of Malice:

"Honestly, same. I'd rather stay in my room and observe things from here."

Sovereign of Wind:

"And besides, the channel chat box is way more fun than face-to-face conversations. We can send emojis and cute videos."

Before Xavier could even react—

[Sovereign of Wind has sent a video.]

A massive meteor descended from the sky and slammed into a planet, obliterating everything in a blinding explosion.

Xavier stared at it.

"…That's not cute."

He rubbed his temples slowly, trying to process everything.

So… they did have actual places they could go to.

A café.

A place called Divinia.

Which meant—

"These guys have an actual… society or something?"

The thought alone was absurd.

Before he could spiral further—

A new message appeared.

Constellation of Gates (GM):

"You can mute them."

Everything froze.

Then—

Defier of Fate: !

Sovereign of Wind: !

Tyrant of Blazing Flame: !

Observer of Malice: !

Seeker of Fortune: !

Panic.

The Constitution went into pure unfiltered panic.

Tyrant of Blazing Flame:

"Hey! That's not very nice! We paid to be here!"

Seeker of Fortune:

"You can't just rip us off like this! If you do that, I'm demanding a refund!"

Xavier raised a brow.

"…You guys paid?"

Before he could question it further—

A system message appeared.

[System Update]

To ensure contractor's peace and privacy, a new feature has been added to this channel.

Constellations may now be muted.

If a Constellation does not wish to be muted, they may pay an additional fee to cancel the mute.

Xavier slowly sat up straighter.

A grin began forming on his face.

"Oh…"

Now this was interesting.

Observer of Malice:

"Peace and privacy my ass. This is just draining us of money."

"Good," Xavier muttered.

Before the Constellations could protest any further—

More windows popped up in front of him.

---

Do you want to mute Defier of Fate?

Do you want to mute Sovereign of Wind?

Do you want to mute Tyrant of Blazing Flame?

Do you want to mute Observer of Malice?

---

Xavier's eyes lit up.

Without hesitation—

"YES."

"YES."

"YES."

"YES."

He tapped through them rapidly, not giving them even a second to react.

The noise—

Suddenly stopped.

Just like that.

No messages. No notifications. No random nonsense conversation anymore.

Just silence.

Xavier froze.

For a moment, it felt… strange.

It was too quiet.

He blinked once.

Twice.

Then—

He suddenly jumped off his bed, fists clenched, face lighting up with pure joy.

"FINALLY!"

"Silence!!!"

He stretched his arms wide as if embracing the peace itself.

"No more talking! No more explosions! No more 'cute' videos!"

He let out a deep, satisfied sigh.

"This… this is heaven."

A pause.

Then—

A single notification appeared.

Constellation of Gates (GM):

"I'm still here."

Xavier stiffened slightly.

"…Right."

He glanced at the message, then shrugged.

"You're fine. You don't talk that much anyway."

[The Constalition of Gates chuckled a little]

Constellation of Gates (GM):

"Well then, go to sleep. I have a task for you tomorrow."

Xavier frowned slightly.

"A task?"

He wanted to ask more. What kind of task? Was it dangerous?Another dungeon?

A dozen questions filled his mind—

But before he could say anything, his body betrayed him.

The exhaustion he had been fighting off for hours finally crashed down all at once.

His eyelids grew heavy.

"…Tch… great timing…"

He let himself fall back onto the bed, staring at the ceiling for a moment.

"…Fine," he murmured.

"We'll talk tomorrow…"

Whether she heard him or not, he didn't know.

But for once—

There were no interruptions.

Xavier closed his eyes.

And within seconds, sleep finally claimed him.
