They walked back toward the cafe where Nox had left Serian waiting, the three girls still peppering him with questions he had absolutely no intention of answering no matter how many times they asked. His patience was wearing thin faster than he expected.
"So this mysterious person you're escorting is what, exactly?" Kendra pressed from his left side, matching his pace easily. "A mercenary you hired? Some kind of quest giver? Your secret crush that you've been hiding from us?"
"None of your business," he said flatly without breaking stride.
"That's not an actual answer to the question!"
"It's the only one you're getting from me."
Yeda tried a different approach from his other side, her voice softer and more sympathetic. "We just want to help you, Nox. You know that right? You don't have to do absolutely everything alone all the time."
"I work better alone," he countered automatically.
