Chapter 340 Attention from the Divine Realm
In the Divine Realm, the God of Destruction frowned slightly and asked the Goddess of Life, "Where is that Asura guy? Given his personality, why has he been silent for so long?"
Asura was different from other gods; he possessed the authority to oversee the lower realms. Because the flow of time in the Divine Realm and the lower realms differed, there were many matters to handle.
Normally, Asura would hold a meeting every few days to discuss how to deal with matters in the lower realms, but this time it seemed to have taken longer than expected.
"I'm not sure. I saw Asura once more than ten days ago. He seemed to have encountered something good and was quite happy."
The Goddess of Life was also somewhat puzzled. Asura was arguably one of the most responsible gods in the Divine Realm, and this long silence was truly unusual.
After pacing for a while, the God of Destruction suddenly looked at the Goddess of Life and said, "Let's go, let's go to his temple and find him, let's see what tricks he's playing."
Then, the God of Destruction's figure disappeared from the Goddess of Life's sight.
Seeing this, the Goddess of Life shook her head helplessly and then followed after him.
A moment later, the two arrived at the temple of the God of Destruction and called out several times, but there was no response.
Just as the God of Destruction and the Goddess of Life were exchanging bewildered glances, the warning sound of the divine artifact within the temple of the God of Destruction suddenly reached their ears.
Upon hearing this sound, the God of Destruction and the Goddess of Life's expressions changed drastically. They no longer cared about the God of Destruction's feelings and directly rushed into the temple of the God of Destruction.
Then, the God of Destruction and the Goddess of Life witnessed a scene that shocked them. The temple of the God of Destruction was completely empty; there was no trace of the God of Destruction.
Just then, a phantom image of the God of Destruction suddenly appeared before them.
Looking at the two before him, the God of Destruction asked with some surprise, "Destruction, Life, were you the first to come looking for me?"
"Shura, what exactly are you up to?"
Upon seeing the phantom image of the God of Destruction, the God of Destruction questioned angrily.
However, facing the God of Destruction's questioning, the God of Asura smiled and said, "I didn't do anything shady. My divine position has already been passed on, so naturally I've retired smoothly."
"You passed on your divine position?"
Upon hearing this, the God of Destruction was stunned. He hadn't expected the God of Asura to be so decisive, as the usual Asura didn't seem to be considering retirement at all.
At this moment, the Goddess of Life asked curiously, "Asura, to whom did you pass on your divine position?"
Asura was usually arrogant, and the Goddess of Life was genuinely curious about who could gain the God of Asura's favor and so easily pass on his divine position.
"An interesting little fellow from the Douluo Continent. He's also the successor to the Wind God and the Sea God," the God of Asura replied.
"What!?"
Hearing the God of Asura's words, the God of Destruction and the Goddess of Life were immediately shocked.
The Wind God and the Sea God were both first-level main gods, and with the God King Asura above them, just how outstanding was this little fellow to gain the favor of three main gods?
But after regaining his senses, the God of Destruction couldn't help but curl his lip, giving the God of Asura a somewhat speechless look, and said, "So you just snatched their two successors and ran away first? How come I never saw you, Asura, could be so shameless?"
"Who told you that little guy inherited a godhood?" the God of Asura said with a meaningful smile.
"What do you mean?"
The God of Destruction frowned in confusion.
At this moment, the Goddess of Life reminded the God of Destruction, "Speaking of which, it's been a while since we've seen those two, the Wind God and the Sea God."
Upon hearing this, the God of Destruction's eyes widened instantly. Could it be…?
Then, the God of Destruction pointed incredulously at the God of Asura, saying, "You three wouldn't have passed all your divine positions to him, would you?"
"What do you think?"
The God of Asura looked at the God of Destruction with a half-smile.
"Crazy! You're all truly crazy!"
The God of Destruction was almost driven mad by the manipulation of the three gods. How could they pass three divine positions to the same person at the same time?
"We're not crazy. You'll see in the future what a wise choice we made."
At this point, the God of Asura paused, then continued, "Besides, is there any rule in the Divine Realm that forbids a god from passing his divine position to one person?"
"…"
Upon hearing this, both the God of Destruction and the Goddess of Life fell silent.
Indeed, there was no such rule in the Divine Realm, but who could have imagined that two gods would pass their divine positions to one person?
Not to mention that three gods are simultaneously passing on their positions to one person; it's simply inconceivable.
"Huh? How could this be?"
Just as the two were silent, the God of Asura glanced at the throne and suddenly asked with suspicion.
"What's wrong?"
Seeing Asura's expression, the God of Destruction asked.
The God of Asura explained, "I once sent someone to a world called the Five Elements Continent to carry out a mission, but now I've discovered that the person I sent is dead."
"What!?"
Upon hearing this, the God of Destruction and the Goddess of Life exclaimed in shock.
It should be known that the enforcers under the God of Asura were quite powerful; the fact that they could kill him showed the seriousness of the situation.
"Look what you've done!"
The God of Destruction glared fiercely at the phantom of the God of Asura, then quickly left the Asura Temple.
The enforcers of the Divine Realm were all dead; therefore, a Divine Realm assembly had to be convened to discuss the matter.
Compared to this important matter, the fact that the God of Asura, the God of Wind, and the God of Sea passed their divine positions to one person was a minor matter, since it didn't violate any Divine Realm rules.
After the God of Destruction departed, the Goddess of Life nodded apologetically to the God of Asura before leaving as well.
The God of Asura shrugged helplessly. He then used his warning artifact to examine the Douluo Continent, wanting to know what his successor, Mo Hui, was doing and why he hadn't ascended to the God Realm for so long.
To the gods, the Douluo Continent was incredibly barren; even its plane's will was only at the level of a first-level god, let alone for a God-King successor like Mo Hui.
But the more he observed, the more alarmed the God of Asura became. What was Mo Hui trying to do? Was he trying to advance the Douluo Continent?
But this would be opposed by the gods of the God Realm. The world's resources were limited, and they wouldn't allow a world to escape their control; otherwise, they wouldn't have sent enforcers to the Five Elements Continent.
However, the God of Asura quickly stopped caring. After all, he wasn't the God of Asura anymore; what did it matter to him what happened to the lower realm?
He just wanted to know how Destruction and the others would handle this once they found out. If things dragged on any longer, and Mo Hui broke through to the God-King level, things would get interesting.
