Just as Arima and the other two confronted the man before them, waves of enemy reinforcements began rushing in from outside the castle.
"Oh? That was fast. Another Devil Fruit ability, perhaps?" Arima murmured under his breath.
"Katakuri, what's going on? Brulee was panicking and told us to hurry here!"
As soon as the voice fell, a strange man stepped out from a mirror on the wall.
He was tall and thin, wearing a top hat decorated with candy ornaments, a long tongue hanging from his mouth, and a candy cane twirling in his hand.
"So, a Mirror-Mirror Fruit user, huh?"
Now Arima understood why the enemy reinforcements had arrived so quickly.
"Huh?!! Arima! You… aren't you supposed to be in Dressrosa?!"
The candy man was visibly shocked at the sight before him.
Arima shrugged with a light smile. "Can't just sit around waiting to die, can I? You must be Charlotte Perospero, eldest son of the Charlotte Family, Minister of Candy, right?"
"Arima, are you declaring war on the Charlotte Family?"
Perospero narrowed his eyes, glaring fiercely at him.
"What if I am? And what if I'm not?"
"If you want war, then the Big Mom Pirates will annihilate everything connected to you!"
Perospero wasn't intimidated. As one of the top powers under the Yonko Big Mom, he had every reason to be confident.
But he had touched Arima's reverse scale, his family.
In the next instant, a deep crimson aura of Conqueror's Haki burst out from Arima's body, so dense it took physical form.
Under its overwhelming pressure, only a few people were able to remain standing.
"What did you just say you'd destroy?"
The playful look vanished from Arima's face, replaced by an expressionless stare fixed on Perospero.
"His Haki… it's even more terrifying than Mama's!" Perospero's heart tightened with unease.
"Arima, as one of the Five Emperors, do you only know how to sneak around?" Katakuri stepped forward, locking eyes with him.
"Oh? Is that not allowed? Why wouldn't it be? You're pirates, aren't you?" Arima chuckled, the tension in the air fading slightly.
"What are you really here for?"
Katakuri knew he couldn't defeat the man before him. But for the sake of his family, he had to stand his ground.
"You're a good man," Arima said quietly. "As for what I want, it's simple. The Road Poneglyph and every Devil Fruit your family has collected."
"The Poneglyph isn't mine to give. It's the thing Mama treasures most! If it goes missing, when she returns she'll, "
Katakuri's grip tightened on his trident. After a brief silence, he made up his mind, he would trade his life to protect his family's.
"Oh? Planning to die together? That's impossible, Katakuri. Even if your Observation Haki can foresee the future…"
Arima rose into the air, taking Tsunade and Kushina with him. He looked down coldly and said, enunciating every word:
"But I can foresee the future you foresee! Anyone who dares harm my family, I will utterly destroy! …Shinra Tensei!"
Katakuri had already seen what was about to happen, but there was nothing he could do to stop it. He could only watch helplessly as his vision became reality.
In an instant, the entire castle exploded from within, as if a massive Tailed Beast Bomb had gone off in its core.
From above, it looked as though a gigantic spoon had gouged out a chunk of Whole Cake Island.
"Se… Senju… Arima…" Katakuri lay in a pool of blood, barely alive.
The Big Mom Pirates suffered devastating losses. Aside from the elite forces Big Mom had taken with her, the rest were nearly wiped out.
Arima activated his Mangekyo Sharingan, gazing into Katakuri's fading eyes, and extracted the information he wanted directly from his mind.
Soon after, he found the nineteenth son of the Charlotte Family, Charlotte Mont-d'Or, Minister of Cheese and user of the Book-Book Fruit, and pulled him into the Kamui dimension.
Having acquired everything he came for, Arima prepared to leave Whole Cake Island with Tsunade and Kushina.
Before departing, he tossed a small vial toward the dying Katakuri.
"Just a few drops will heal your injuries. We both fight for our families, so I'll spare you and your siblings. Live. Take them and flee Totto Land.
Big Mom will be erased by my hand. When that time comes, don't be foolish enough to throw your life away again."
With that, Arima and his companions vanished from the devastated island.
Katakuri picked up the vial, his grip tightening until cracks formed along the glass. But in the end, he couldn't bring himself to destroy it.
Tearing off his scarf, he drank a few drops. Within moments, his wounds healed completely.
Without delay, he gathered his surviving family members, diluted the remaining liquid with water, and gave them each a share. Though weakened, it was enough to save their lives.
Katakuri clenched his fists, nails digging deep into his palms. The pain brought him clarity as he swore silently to himself:
'Arima… I'll remember this debt of life. But I'll also remember this grudge, and one day, I'll settle it with you!'
…
As Arima traveled with Tsunade and Kushina, the red-haired woman asked curiously, "Arima, what exactly did you see back there?"
"A man's resolve, to protect his family." Arima's tone softened. "Anyway, that matter's over. Next stop: Dressrosa. Kushina, can you lift the whole island into the sky yet?"
"Eh?! That huge place? Not yet! But I could probably manage Green Bit."
"That's fine. Go with my clone and raise Green Bit into the air. I'll take Tsunade to Onigashima."
"You don't need me to come along, Arima?"
"Not this time. Your ability won't be of use on Onigashima, it's too massive to lift."
"Aww, too bad! …Alright then, I'll go! Tsunade, take good care of him!"
And with that, she disappeared with Arima's clone.
"That girl," Tsunade said, half laughing, "you'd think I'm the outsider here."
Arima smiled. "Tsunade, I'm sending you after one of Kaido's three Calamities, Jack the Drought.
While you deal with him, I'll dig through Kaido's base and grab everything worth taking. I've heard he's got plenty of Zoan-type Devil Fruit users. Maybe I'll just capture them all."
"Didn't some already head to Dressrosa?"
"Then I'll just clean out what's left."
"Heh, I like that plan! So, where do we go after that?"
"Marineford, of course. Sengoku's been stirring trouble, time to return the favor."
"You're not going to Mary Geoise?"
"Not yet. The Gorosei aren't easy prey. There's somewhere else I want to loot first."
"Where?" Tsunade's curiosity was piqued by his mysterious tone.
Arima leaned close and whispered a name into her ear.
"Haha! Arima, that'll throw the World Government into complete chaos! They'll never guess your true goal!"
"Exactly. After all," Arima said with a grin, "they don't know I'm also the Dark-Dark Fruit user."
And with that, the two vanished completely into the sky above Totto Land.
