"Ouka!!"The black-haired girl's shout cut across the cavern as she planted her feet, katana gripped tight. The Goliath's massive fist swung down, and she barely managed to intercept it, the impact sending cracks through the ground beneath her.

Behind her, another girl—bow already drawn—loosed three arrows in rapid succession. Thwip. Thwip. Thwip. All three struck the Goliath straight in the head.

They bounced off like raindrops.

The seven-meter giant didn't even blink.The black-haired girl's slashes? Nothing.The arrows? Nothing.

"Chigusa! We have to retreat!" the swordswoman shouted. She turned her head back to the fourth member of their party. "Asuka, how is he doing!?"

Asuka's hands trembled over the fallen tank's body. "I—I don't know! Mikoto, please! I… I can't— I have to heal him, but I can't focus!"

Goliath's head creaked as it turned toward Mikoto. Its fist rose.

BOOM!

The impact sent her flying, though she recovered better than Ouka had. Even so—none of them were in any shape to fight or flee. The monster loomed over Chigusa next, massive hand lifting to crush her where she stood.

It dropped its arm——but the blow never connected.

WHAM!

A kick slammed into the Goliath's wrist, knocking the colossal arm back and forcing the monster to stagger a full step.

Damien landed in front of the archer, drawing both daggers in a smooth motion.

"You guys don't mind if I interfere, right?" he asked casually.

"No! We need all the help we can get!" Chigusa cried.

"Good. Then help your friend and back away. I'll take care of the Goliath."

Without waiting for a reply, Damien darted forward.Chigusa raised her bow again, instinct screaming at her to support him—

"Wait! I'm going to help you—"

"No, don't!" Damien snapped mid-sprint. "You'll only get in the way. Help your friend. Go!"

He jumped, landing on the Goliath's shoulder. Both daggers flashed as he carved two crossing slashes across its face.

The blades cut, but not nearly deep enough.

The monster growled—barely wounded.

'Sheesh… this really is a Level Four boss,' Damien thought as he kicked off the Goliath's shoulder and landed lightly on the ground. 'This'll be hard.'

He lowered his stance, eyes narrowing as he scanned every angle, every twitch, every weakness he could exploit. The path to victory was there—he just had to carve it out.

And the Goliath roared, charging straight at him.

....

The Goliath roared, its voice shaking dust loose from the ceiling. It charged like a living avalanche, each step a booming tremor.

Damien shot forward to meet it.

Clang! His daggers raked across the giant's forearm, sparks flying. The cut was there—thin, shallow, meaningless. The monster barely felt it.

Goliath swung its arm sideways.A normal adventurer would've been pulped.

Damien slid under it, skidding along the stone floor, momentum carrying him between the giant's legs. As he passed, he slashed upward, carving into its Achilles tendon.

The blade dug in——but not nearly enough.

"Tch." Damien clicked his tongue, springing back to his feet.

The monster twisted, stomping down with a foot broad enough to flatten a carriage.

BOOM!Damien was already gone, leaping onto its knee, then running along its thigh. He stabbed downward as he sprinted across the giant's body, each attack bouncing off the dense, stone-like skin with frustrating resistance.

The Goliath grabbed for him again. Damien jumped before the fingers could close, flipping backward and landing several meters away.

'Hard skin, thick muscles, absurd regeneration… Nothing's sticking.'He exhaled through his nose.'If I were level four, maybe I'd make a dent…'

The Goliath slammed both fists into the ground——but Damien was long gone, emerging above the left shoulder, only to slash again.

Still shallow.

Still not enough.

The giant growled, irritation mounting as it swung wildly. Damien wove between its arms like smoke, but all he managed to do was annoy the creature. A stalemate—he couldn't hurt it, and it couldn't catch him.

Then Damien sensed it—the earlier party finally far, far away in retreat. The corner of his mouth curled up.

"Good… now I don't need to hold back anymore."

He planted one foot forward, shadows pooling at his feet like liquid ink.

"Arise."

The cavern darkened.

A tidal surge of shadows erupted behind him, rising like a storm. One by one, figures pulled themselves out of the darkness:

Igris, towering in crimson and black. The silverback, teeth bared in silent fury. Two infant dragons spreading their small but deadly wings.Hellhounds snarling, black flame dancing over their fangs.Minotaurs pounding their fists against their chests.

An army of shadows.

Damien pointed his dagger at the Goliath."Go."

The dungeon trembled as all of them launched forward at once.

The Goliath swung a backhand meant to crush the silverback——but the silverback rolled under it, grabbing its ankle while the hellhounds lunged for its calves. Flame-coated jaws tore at the thick hide, forcing the giant to stagger.

The minotaurs leapt onto its legs, clawing and pounding, creating dents in the monster's stone-like skin.

The infant dragons unleashed compressed blasts of flame and wind at its torso, staggering it further.

Meanwhile, Damien sprinted along the battlefield, his eyes locked on one target.

The Goliath's head.

"Cover me!" he shouted.

Igris moved.

A crimson flash carved across the Goliath's thigh. The monster bellowed, stumbling just enough for Damien to leap, landing onto its shoulder once again. This time he didn't go for the face.

He went for the eyes.

Slash! Slash!

Both daggers plunged deep, tearing into the monster's vision. Goliath howled, shaking violently as blood streamed down its face.

Blinded.

"Now the neck!"

Damien dropped down onto its upper back, blades glowing faintly from the force of his grip. He slashed horizontally with all the strength his Level 3 body could muster—cutting a deep line into the monster's throat.

Not enough to kill it.But enough to open a path.

The Goliath flailed, hands reaching toward its neck—

"Igris!"

The Shadow Knight flashed forward like a streak of bloody moonlight. His greatsword plunged into the exact wound Damien opened.

A clean, precise, merciless thrust.

The blade pierced straight through the Goliath's neck, severing everything vital in a single strike.

CRACK—

The giant froze.

Its massive body trembled——then collapsed like a falling mountain.

BOOOOOOM!

Dust exploded upward, swallowing the cavern.

In the silence that followed, Damien stood atop the fallen head, daggers dripping with dark monster blood, his shadows gathering behind him in perfect formation.

He exhaled slowly.

"And that's that." said Damien as he pulled his soldiers back into his Shadow...As he turned around....The Black Haird girl looked at him shocked...

"Were those....Monsters? Fighting with you?!" she asked

"Ah shit..." sighed Damien
