They continued their mental conversation as Aiden climbed the wide stairs. A group of noble students — three young men and two haughty-looking girls — passed by. The moment they recognized him, their faces twisted with disgust.
"Fucking commoner trash pretending to be a hero…" one of the noble boys muttered under his breath.
"Disgusting. Parading around like some animal," a noble girl sneered quietly.
Aiden turned his head slightly and gave them a slow, dark smirk — full of arrogance and power. The nobles' faces flushed with rage, but none dared say anything louder. They hurried past, shooting poisonous glares over their shoulders.
Aiden simply chuckled under his breath.
"Pathetic."
