The only sound echoing through the forest was the icy howl of the wind, carried along by a raging blizzard. A thick fog blanketed the woods, shortening visibility to just a few meters ahead, making it nearly impossible to tell directions—Al and Kyle included.
With Putih leading them, the two managed to find several wyvern corpses scattered throughout the frozen woodland. Both immediately tightened their grips on their weapons and resumed following Putih deeper into the blizzard.
[Several Hours Earlier]
Right after the decision was made, Rima shot into the sky toward the south. With a flick of her finger, a dome-shaped barrier formed around her body, shielding her from wind and snow. Wrapped in its protection, she glided swiftly through the storm.
After an hour of searching, the thick fog ahead gradually began to fade, and the blizzard weakened. Noticing the change, Rima halted midair.
