Lunala brought Ace and Green back to their original world. After returning to the Tōtō Hotel, Green's expression was somewhat serious as she spoke to Ace: "We'd best not get involved in this mess."
"You must have realized they were lying, right?"
Ace sat on the sofa, looking at Green with a smile. "They certainly withheld some things from us, but there are a few matters I truly need to attend to there."
Green frowned slightly, looking at the smiling yet composed Ace. Ace simply watched Green quietly.
Initially, Ace hadn't immediately realized the issue due to the distraction of the side quests. But after Green's refusal, Ace carefully pondered the words spoken by the two individuals earlier and quickly identified the problem.
In the narration by Dulse and Zossie, the Blinding One—Necrozma—was suppressed in their world. According to them, Necrozma devoured the light of their world, leading to their act of suppression. If that was the case, why would they refer to Necrozma as the "Blinding One" or "Glorious God"?
More importantly, Ace was well aware of Necrozma's forms, so once he was no longer distracted by the side and title quests, he instantly realized the contradiction.
"Then what are you planning to do?"
Feeling uncomfortable under Ace's gaze, Green averted her head and asked Ace, "If your plan can't convince me, then I absolutely won't allow you to take risks."
Ace looked at the stubborn Green and smiled. This feeling of being cared for was quite nice.
Ace reached out and ruffled Green's hair, messing up her locks.
As Green struggled free from his grasp, glaring at him angrily, Ace spoke.
"My plan is..."
Ace began to describe his plan to Green. To prevent Green from worrying, Ace kept the plan as conservative as possible, prioritizing safety above all else, seeking no merit but guaranteeing no fault.
Green sank into contemplation after listening to Ace's account.
After quickly reviewing it in her mind, Green spoke: "The entire premise of your plan relies on the opponent's strong phototropism (attraction to light). If the phototropism isn't as strong as you imagine, your plan is useless."
"Don't worry about that."
Ace said with a grin, "We'll prepare first. Once we cross over, if we find that the world is not shrouded in darkness as they described, we'll turn back immediately, no hesitation. How does that sound?"
With Ace's assurance, Green also felt relieved.
The two quietly rested for the entire night. The next morning, they began preparing the items needed for the plan.
When they started their massive shopping spree, the owners of the stores they frequented were taken aback. After all, the purchase volume for these kinds of items was usually small; one person would buy maybe one, and that was enough.
But Ace and Green were buying by the case.
Out of necessity, the owner even emptied his warehouse to gather five hundred pieces for Ace and Green.
After confirming that the five hundred items were functioning normally, Ace cheerfully paid for everything in one go, making the elated owner treat Ace as a God of Wealth, welcoming him to visit again next time.
Ace and Green stuffed all the items into Ace's backpack. Green also swapped out some of her Pokémon for this mission, urgently borrowing a few Pokémon from Crystal.
Once everything was ready, Ace and Green rode Lunala and flew into the Ultra Wormhole.
Dulse and Zossie, who had been waiting there for some time, met up with Ace and Green. Guided by them, the group quickly flew toward Dulse and Zossie's world: Ultra Megalopolis.
Ultra Megalopolis is the homeland of the Ultra Recon Squad. Due to the loss of light, the residents of Ultra Megalopolis constructed the Ultra Megalopolis Tower, which functions as an artificial sun. They also designed the city's architecture with sharp angles to reflect the light and heat from the Tower, utilizing it to the maximum extent. Furthermore, Ultra Megalopolis has an alarm system that notifies residents to seek shelter indoors when Ultra Beasts attack.
When Ace and Green arrived in this world, following Dulse and Zossie, they were astonished by the sight before them. In this world without natural light, the inhabitants had used their own power to bring "light" to the world!
"The main light source here comes from the venom of Naganadel."
Dulse patted his Naganadel and said, "Naganadel's venom has the dual properties of stickiness and luminescence. It is precisely because of this that our Ultra Megalopolis has not completely lost its light."
Ace and Green landed in the Megalopolis, and Ace recalled Lunala. As for why he recalled Lunala, those who understood, understood.
Dulse and Zossie did not recall their Naganadel, or rather, they didn't even have the concept of Poké Balls. After setting Dulse and Zossie down, Naganadel flew off by itself toward the Ultra Megalopolis Tower and disappeared from Ace's view.
Having returned to their world, Dulse and Zossie finally took off their helmets, revealing their original appearances. Due to the long-term lack of sun exposure, Dulse's and Zossie's skin was noticeably pale, and their eyes were a light Green, allowing them to see more clearly in the dim environment.
"Welcome to Ultra Megalopolis!"
Zossie opened her arms and shouted loudly to Ace and Green, also attracting the attention of the nearby residents.
Ace did not speak, silently observing the peculiar city. Because the lighting here was dim, even with many residents around, no one noticed Ace's shadow briefly flicker before returning to normal.
For safety, Ace had naturally sent his most trusted Gengar to scout the way. In this dim world, it was Gengar's most comfortable environment. The widespread darkness allowed it to move completely unhindered, a straight path with no obstacles whatsoever. It entered the Ultra Megalopolis Tower much faster than Dulse's Naganadel.
Gengar had gone to search for useful intelligence. Meanwhile, Ace followed Dulse and Zossie while also releasing his Gardevoir. This was Ace's second layer of insurance. With Gardevoir's current strength, should any crisis arise, Gardevoir would instantly use Teleport to move Ace and Green to an extremely safe distance. Then, during that time gap, Ace could calmly retreat with Lunala.
This was also the reason why Green was willing to let Ace venture here!
