Spector Unit 6 and the remaining seven drones started firing energy bolts at the Scorpo again as Adam asked, "What's our status?"

[[Highlighting now.]] Spector replied before a red icon appeared on the HUD overlay, indicating that the location of the Scorpos' heart was near the centre of its body.

As the chat explained to the Earthlings why the Scorpos heart was so valuable, Adam said, "Activate Starbeam Laser."

As everyone in the chat and on the Sportscast watched, six of the seven remaining drones came together. Five of the drones connected together at the tip, where the energy bolts or lasers were released, while the sixth connected its rear part in the very centre of all the others, where they came together; so its tip was pointing outwards towards the Scorpo.
[Superior4horns (Vinox 3): It kinda looks like a star with how the five drones each look like a point of a star, but what's with the randomly placed sixth drone in the middle?]

Everyone watching the stream saw the five drones that made the star shape start to glow brighter before the sixth drone also started to light up. Soon, the six drones glowed so bright that everyone watching the stream thought they were looking at a bright orange star.

"Viewers, I have absolutely no idea what we are witnessing here, but the six drones that combined are now releasing a bright orange light that is illuminating space around it," Honcho reported.
"Is Spector Unit Six trying to blind the Scorpo or something? Because all it's doing right now is attracting its attention," Dulaebella asked.
"It surely can't be as simple as that," Raella said before asking, "Could it be a way of distracting the Scorpo while he launches a sneak attack?"
"I doubt it, he risks losing all those drones should it fire Scorpofacid at them all," Dulaebella replied.
"Oh damn, it looks like you're right," Honcho said as the feed showed that the Scorpo was once again raising its tail up high as it started to glow purple.
As everyone was expecting the Scorpo to spray its Scorpofacid at the drones, a bright orange energy beam shot out from the bright orange drone made star and pierced into the Scorpo's head before coming out of the other side and flying off into the distance.
Everyone watching the feed stared in shock as the purple glow in the Scorpos' tail faded, the glow in its eyes faded, and the tail and tentacles went limp.
After the orange energy beam faded from existence, the light generated by the bright drone made star also started to diminish until the six drones became visible and separated.
However, as the drones separated, the sixth drone began to crack before it broke down into several pieces.
"..... Did the Scorpo just die?" Raella asked after a few minutes of stunned silence in the broadcasting booth.
"I… I think so," Dulaebella replied in a stunned tone.
"Viewers, I feel I must apologise because I am failing as your commentator, but for the second time in a few minutes, I have no idea what just happened." Honcho apologised before continuing, "The bright star produced by Spector Unit Six's drones released some kind of orange energy beam which pierced through the Scorpo's head and killed it."
"How is that even possible? Drones are not powerful enough to pierce a Scorpos carapace? I mean, we witnessed that earlier when Spector Unit Six's energy bolts failed to pierce it," Raella remarked.
"Is it possible that they combined their firepower?" Dulaebella asked thoughtfully.
"What do you mean, Dulaebella?" Honcho asked as the feed switched back to Black Prime and Speed Stone in the sphere.

"What the fuck was that?" Becky asked in shock.
"He killed the Scorpo," Tessa said in a shocked tone.
"He did," Lorelie replied in an equally shocked tone.
"Was that a laser of some kind?" Stacey asked.
"It looked like it, though I have no idea how it pierced the Scorpos' head since his drones were ineffective before," Rowena replied thoughtfully.
"Did the drones combine their energy as well as combining in form?" Mika mused thoughtfully.
"That's plausible, the way the drones glowed after merging together leads me to think that they all transferred their energy to that last drone that joined the star and then that drone released all the combined energy in one beam at the Scorpo," Aphrodite said thoughtfully before adding, "Also, the way that one drone broke down leads me to think that it couldn't handle the excessive amount of energy transfered to it which validates this theory even more."
The group of women all stared at Aphrodite in surprise before Rowena asked, "When did you become such an expert on this?"
"You think I didn't learn a thing or two after attending so many UMB Cup competitions?" Aphrodite replied while smirking.
"I guess that makes sense, though it's still surprising," Rowena said while giving her signature smirk.
"Screw you, I'm not really a pink-haired slutty idiot, I only play one in VR," Aphrodite pouted.
"The pink-haired slut part is still accurate," Rowena shot back.
"I'm just a pink-haired diva who happens to love sex, not my fault I was born a Succuba and with the talent to satisfy anyone in bed…. and out of bed," Aphrodite replied with a sultry smile.

"Even though I love watching banter between two friends as much as the next person, do you think we could get back to the topic about Adam managing to kill the Scorpo… alone?" Tessa asked.
"He probably has no idea how this is going to help build his reputation," Lorelie said with a smile.
"Well, he did kill that thing all on his own," Stacey replied.
"I hope he collects the heart for me to eat later," Tephe said hopefully.
"Damn, Xer-verse is going nuts over the fact he just beat that thing," Eri stated as she looked at her uniband while continuing. "They're calling him the hero of Felinia Seven and saying that the Black Knight has returned to save them, just as it did the Phoenix race during the Siege of Fenix Nest."
"That's a bit far-fetched, isn't it? I mean, it was pretty obvious the Scorpo was hunting the Levithen," Stacey replied.
"Maybe, but you know how people like to exaggerate things online," Eri replied with a shrug before smiling as she said. "Plus, it doesn't hurt that the story of him going one-on-one with the Scorpo is trending on Xer-verse right now, now that the Sportscast feed of the opening ceremony is the number one on the Universal Subspace Network."
"The story trending on Xer-verse is nothing surprising, but the Sportscast feed is. I don't think the UMB Cup has ever reached number one before, has it?" Lorelie asked.
"Not even close, the best they have ever managed is twenty-second," Mika replied.

"But the only energy weapon that was effective against it was the Starbeam Laser; the beam saber doesn't have the same level of penetration," Adam stated.
