Chapter 162 - V4-C21: Explanations

Azure kept rubbing herself against Aqua's arm as the duo made their way into the dining area. I don't even care about the vision, my Aqua is back, and now everything will be alright!

Her eyes were fixed on Aqua, her beloved's face wore a slight blush, and her ears were twitching. She couldn't help but giggle like a little girl. She is mine, all mine!

Aqua leaned her head on hers. "Seeing you happy like this brings me such joy. To think someone like me could make someone truly happy."

Azure blinked, "Someone like you? No, someone like me doesn't deserve you, and yet I got you. I have every reason to be over the moon," she said, chuckling.

Soon, two girls made their way into the cafeteria and approached their seats. Azure stopped her and pulled Aqua's seat out. "For you, my love."

Aqua's face turned red. "Thank you, Azu," she said while seating herself.

The students and the staff were in clear panic due to the visions. Aqua's eyes narrowed, scanning their reactions. "Everyone remembers," she muttered.

Azure took the opportunity of distraction to kiss Aqua on the cheek. "Don't worry about that for now, darling. Let you Azu bring you some food."

Aqua's smile made her step back and her knees buckle. She shook her head and quickly grabbed two trays of food.

My darling likes sweets. She hummed and quickly picked out various fruits. Unfortunately, the academy had no chocolate that Aqua liked, but it was her duty to do her best.

I kissed Aqua, and Aqua kissed me. She hummed in her mind. It took everything she had not to burst into a song. After meticulously picking food for her beloved, she quickly stuffed her own tray and made her way back to the table.

She took a seat and pushed the tray to Aqua. She scanned her love from top to bottom, the usual outfit fit her, but the academy uniform also made her appealing. Of course, she was not one to complain.

Her Aqua looked good in everything. Her face flushed, and she stuffed her face.

"Azure, we need to talk about the attack. Tell me everything you experienced."

Azure chewed her food and quickly swallowed. Crap, I almost forgot.

She was too preoccupied with the best moment of her life to let the terrifying nightmare slip her memory. I am sorry, Aqua. I got too excited.

Azure sighed and leaned closer. "I will tell you everything."

There would be time to spend with her fiancé later, but now she needed to be serious and tell the heroine everything that had happened to her.

Her fingers interlocked, and her eyes closed.

Azure proceeded to explain everything in as clear a detail as she possibly could.

Aqua's ears twitched, and she plunged into thoughts. She frowned. The savages, the monsters, the creatures of rot, and the mysterious, shrouded entity. Before the Red Dawn operative was mentioned, Aqua had suspected Laleyn herself.

However, Azure spoke of her as if she tried her best to help against rot, even healing Azure's wounds before losing contact with her.

She rubbed her chin, staring into Azure's very soul and making her blush and avert her gaze.

Azure glanced at Aqua many times before slowly turning her gaze to her beloved. "So, what do we need to do now, my star? I was unsure of how to prepare our defenses, but with you here, I can rest easy."

Aqua chuckled. "Defenses? No, they are not getting to step foot into my home again. I will eradicate every monster and every tribe that I find. I will cull the beasts; I will purge the planet from at least the vast majority of these disgusting creatures."

The cold statement sent Azure reeling back, yet she could not blame Aqua. If someone had harmed or insulted Aqua, she too would have been in a mood to kill everything.

Despite its coldness, it made Azure's heart skip a beat.

She quickly grabbed Aqua's hand and warmly smiled at her beloved. "I will not let you do it alone. I want to take vengeance myself, and I can assure you that Sheira wishes to do the same. Let us do this with you."

Aqua sighed. She grabbed Azure's hand and squeezed it. "Listen, Azure. While these creatures have lost their unkillability due to World Soul's empowerment, they are still incredibly dangerous. I do not want something to happen to you again. It is much safer for me to eliminate the threat by myself."

Azure inhaled, walking over to Aqua's chair and sat on her lap, facing Aqua. The heroine's face turned red as Azure stared at her. She placed her forehead on Aqua's and giggled. After a moment she lifted Aqua's chin and gave her a small kiss.

Aqua's ears twitched.

Azure tapped her lips, and a small blush formed on her face. "I think I will get addicted to this."

"I… I am glad, Azu."

After a moment, Azure placed her hands on Aqua's shoulders and pushed her back. "Now listen to me, you sexy god-eating heroine, you better not deny me the opportunity to grow and prove myself worthy of you."

Aqua wanted to speak, but Azure placed her finger on her lips. "Shush, I do not want to hear you saying it's dangerous or that I am worthy already. In my mind, I am not deserving of someone like you, so let me prove it to myself that I am worth your love."

This is so hard. She did not know what got over her to jump on Aqua as she did. Her ears slumped, and she looked at Aqua. Who was she to demand anything of her heroine? She was the dainty damsel who needed saving by her Aqua, not the opposite. If Aqua had demanded something, Azure was in no position to refuse.

Her mind raced and conjured various scenarios, which she quickly shook out of her mind.

Instead, she focused on Aqua's eyes.

Those wonderful sapphires of hers that gave hope to anyone they landed upon.

Her face became even redder.

She needed Aqua to say something.

Yet the heroine only stared at her.

Please answer, I feel so awkward sitting on you like this. Her eyes glanced to the sides. Other students stared for a moment but quickly wandered off. Of course, Aqua's outfit was rather eye-catching, and on top of her lap was Azure.

The displays of affection were often prohibited, yet the shock of the visions made others not care about such minor details.

She squeezed Aqua's shoulders.

Another minute passed, and Aqua exhaled. "Sure, but the moment I think you are in danger, I am dealing with the threat."

Azure smiled. "That's all I can ask for. I can fight with no worries with my star watching over me. You are the guiding light that will bring me to safety."

She leaned down and gave Aqua a quick kiss on the lips. "Sweet, just like you," she said and got off Aqua while keeping her palm on her cheek.

Azure sat back in her seat and continued eating. "Darling, let's finish this food and then go meet with Sheira. They need to hear good news."

Aqua nodded, and her ears slumped. She rubbed her legs together and quickly ate her food. "Let's do that," she stuttered for a moment before stuffing her face with the delicious meal.

Azure soon finished and leaned on her hands, smiling while watching Aqua finish her meal. Beautiful.

After a solid minute, Aqua shot up from her seat and beckoned Azure to follow her. She quickly obliged, and the duo made their way outside the cafeteria.

"Azure, the enemy that had killed you, likely won't appear. Rolan was alone when I found him near Onost."

Azure slumped forward. "I wanted to give him a beating for killing me in that rewritten future."

Aqua nodded before slowing down and grabbing Azure's hand. "I promise, Azu. You will have a chance, but for now, let's meet with Sheira and decide what you will be capable of handling."

I could always handle you. Her eyes widened, and she shook her head. The proximity to the princess had started to influence her into becoming just like Sheira.

The duo slowly made their way toward the headmaster's office. Many voices were arguing over each other, discussing the defense of the academy.

Azure turned to Aqua.

The heroine smiled at her reassuringly. Now that her beloved was here, there was nothing to be discussed; it was only a matter of time before the beasts and the rot itself were expunged and their civilization purged.

It was just recently that I thought that the savages would bring forth our extinction, and now we have true hope. Azure reached for the door and opened it for the duo.

They stepped inside, attracting the eyes of everyone present.

Sheira's eyes widened as she recognized the guest. "Aqua! You are here!"
