{POV - Jumper}
My eyes open to reveal a changed location.
I'm in a minimalistic white environment with a dude made of red stuff in front of me while I was holing a gun made of black stuff.
The same stuff my hand seems to be made out of.
I expected to play out the meta story directly but it looks like I only have to go through the actual levels without any mind virus situation like the actual game.
Anyways I need to get done with all the levels so it's best to just finish this Gauntlet fast but safely.
A voice rings in my head that is accompanied by flashing words in front of my vision.
It kept repeating SUPERHOT at least three times.
In front of my eyes there was more text.
[TIME MOVES ONLY WHEN YOU MOVE]
I shoot at the red glass-like person which made him shatter.
I walk down a corridor to be greeted by a new red guy.
He has a gun.
So do I.
We both take aim and shoot.
I watch as both our bullets fly towards each other slowly.
I move to the side out of the bullets trajectory and watch as it flies past slowing down when it flies past me and the other guy shatters when mine connects to his chest and pierces through it making it bounce off of the walls and floor a few times before stopping.
…
Another sentence flashes in big words before my eyes.
[KILL THEM ALL]
In the corner of my vision I see something red approaching my location.
I aim the gun the second guy that approached just to watch him shatter too.
The voice and text reappears again continuing to chant ominously.
My surroundings change to a new location.
Now I'm in someplace outside between houses that act as walls with three cars and a garbage container.
The car nearest to me has an open trunk with two black objects inside.
I walk over to them and grab the two pistols.
Whilst I did this I notice two more red guys running at me.
I point both guns at them and shoot.
Both bullets connect.
[IT WAS A SETUP]
More text appears and leaves just as quickly..
Two more guys appear which makes me dispose of them just as quickly.
The chanting returns as my place switches again.
Another hallway.
[TAKE IT SLOW]
Three reds.
Two at the end of the hall with firearms and one closer.
The one closer to me shatters as bullets from the two at the back approach me.
I walk slowly towards them mostly staying on either the left or right side of the hall and switching only when the two fire bullets until I reach the shattered corpse of the first guy and pick up its pistol.
I shoot once.
The bullet heads towards one guys head shattering it and then straight towards the second one's head before bouncing frantically between the walls of the small space.
More chanting and new scenery appears.
I'm in a boxed in room holding a new pistol with a red guy in front of me.
I punch him with the hand I hold the pistol in ending up shattering him instantly.
Walking out I'm in another street or maybe parking space?
By the looks of it I'm just really going through all levels as if one played through them all a second time after having already 100% completed the game but I am doing it with a body that is capable of full 3 dimensional movement.
Like an even more realisitic SUPERHOT VR.
Except I can also walk which wasn't a feature in the VR version even if it was more of a sequel than a port of the original storywise.
Red light flashes in the surrounding and more enemies materialize.
Goddammit.
I'm surrounded.
I look over my surroundings slowly to not move time too fast and see how many reds are around.
I count three.
I shoot one which pierces through him.
Then I'm fired at by the other two which are closer together.
I aim for the head and dispatch of both of them through one shot.
More chanting.
[COME WITH US]
Now a train station.
I see three guys from my starting position.
Two in the back running towards me and the closest with a gun right in my face.
[HOW ABOUT NO]
A punch later I'm holding a gun and position myself to shoot a bullet through the chest of both others who were running.
Then I turn my head around to dodge more bullets that we're approaching me.
From the parallel stairs there are more dudes coming after me.
I shoot one in the head which takes both guys down.
More red lights and four more approach from different directions.
Two from each.
I fire one bullet on the right side taking them both out and then am only left with the left side.
I would try to shoot but my instinctive weapon experience tells me it's still on cooldown and wouldn't fire until some more time passed.
So as I was Impatient I threw it at the gun holding guy on the left shattering him.
This leaves only one who punches towards me.
I go lower ducking the blow and deliver an uppercut which ends him too.
More chanting and then numbers flash before me.
Now new scenery appears yet again.
Huh, is that a car?
Indeed, heading towards me is a car.
I jump up which makes time move at a normal pace and land on the car as it slows down again.
This time I am in car park building or whatever you call them.
I spot something red approaching me with a gun in the sideways grip.
They ain't messing around.
Ducking between the shot that came after me and sidestepping the next I slap that guys face making him explode into fragments.
Then I turn around with the new gun I picked up towards the car where I'm bombarded by a new guy that wasn't there before.
The drunk driver gets the police on black treatment from me.
Next another red guy with a pistol approaches who wasn't there before.
I make him disappear with a quickdraw.
More noise, more light and even more red.
Now I'm getting shot at by two guys again.
I sidestep the first bullet, throw the pistol at the close guy, duck the second bullet, pick up the gun and shoot the other guy in the head which makes it hit the last guy.
The bouncing bullet and piercing bullet upgrades seem to work less well in execution than in theory.
More chants.
[WRONG PLACE]
Now I'm in a bar.
[WRONG TIME]
I'm surrounded by bottles and other cups that are made out of black stuff and over the counter is a red.
I throw a bottle from the counter at him and jump over the counter to reach for two more of the bottles that are on the shelves.
A bullet flies past where I stood moments ago and I start my rampage by chucking bottles at every red person that keeps entering the bar while manouvering around any stray bullets fired that I couldn't have stopped while staying still.
One almost hits me but I block it with a bottle which shatters in my place.
More chanting.
[THE TRAINING]
I'm in a cell now.
No red thing in sight.
[STAND STILL]
I do.
[DON'T MOVE]
A countdown clicks down from 5,
[5]
[4]
[3]
[2]
[1]
[GOOD DOG]
I mentally scoff.
I may be a furry but I'm not one not of the submissive or simp variety.
That's why I can't really understand other anime fans who simp for Esdeath or Makima.
I mean I CAN understand it but I personally I value non toxic relationships.
Does that make me a fake weeb?
The next levels continue on.
I fought my way through cages, bathrooms, and more until I'm in another cell.
This time the ceiling was made out of iron bars where 12 red guys where shooting at me through the openings .
There was nothing black around to throw at them which made me run around dodging helplessly through in the room.
Until I remembered I could parry them with my fists.
I blocked the next one with them after the idea which reflected it and all other bullets close to it towards one guy ending him.
After a few more seconds of me repeating this the rest of them were taken out.
I'm pretty sure in the original game one only had to survive a set amount of time to finish that level but I had extra Perks to cheat my way out.
More ominous text more chants and I'm in a new level.
This time there was an alleyway with a truck coming after me.
Because the truck was just as big as the path I could in no way circumvent it and ran away from it at a slow pace to prolong my time slow and moved to a side alley which let the truck pass by me without it sending me but a random red guy to another world.
A new red guy appeared who was taken out by throwing a homeless persons beer bottle in its face.
Then I took the gun which was actually a rifle this time.
Turning around there were three more coming towards me with guns from where the truck originally came from which I swiftly mowed down with the bullet spam that exited after pressing the firearms trigger once.
This continued on with more black on red violence and texts.
[SOMEONE IS USING THEIR CRACK]
Yeah I am cracking alright.
Or is saying that I am abusing crack the funnier thing to do?
[MAKE HIM FLY]
I threw some guy out of a skyscrapers window with a ball kick.
Should I worry about that?
Continuing on I find myself in an elevator with three armed reds.
I punch the first take his gun headshot the second which takes out the third making the doors open up to reveal two more with shotguns letting their bullets spread towards me.
I slap one bullet making the rest fly towards the one on the right turning him into cheese… afterwards he explodes and the other guy gets dealt with by bouncing bullets.
After a short walk I'm somewhere new again.
[WHATS YOUR MOTIVATION]
A new kind of hallway…
This is getting repetitive.
Punch, throw, slash… wait a minute.
Slash?
Holy shit I'm holding a katana and slicing through them like butter.
This feels great…
Should I feel bad for them?
Well… they are kinda trying to kill me first and in the way of me getting stronger to not die soo it shouldn't be too reprehensible, right?
I have now reached the end of the corridor leaving with many red shattered pieces on the ground.
The voices chant.
Now I'm in some grand looking room looking down as one big pillar is in the middle of it and two stair lead down to it but they separate and go along the edges of the walls.
I jump down the fences with a katana and slice at the three red dudes standing at the bottom of the room.
First gets dispatched, then the second, the third shoots but the bullet gets sliced in half before being bisected as well.
Sounds of bullets being fired appear yet again, which I have been accustomed to at this point and look towards the two stairs at different sides of the rooms were rifle wielders run down.
I throw the katana against one and pick up a rifle of my own from the ground as I run into the opposite direction to fire at the remaining guy.
I then get surprised as another red guy with a pistol runs towards me.
Since the rifle fires until there are no bullets remaining I yeet the ammoless firearm at him and thus finish the level.
After a few more levels (one of which I need to punch myself in) I unlock a new mechanic.
HOTSWITCH.
I can possess other red guys leaving my past bodies head to explode.
However it has a cooldown of a few seconds in normal time which is not so great when you slow down time.
Anyways I just possessed some guy in an office through their window and am messing up their work place.
Btw, shotguns are fun.
Especially with piercing and bouncy bullets.
Crowbars are weirdly aerodynamic too if you jump on enemies with them from high floors.
Now I have assumadly reached the final normal level.
[TAKE THE CORE]
I'm in a big technical looking room looking at a big red red pyramid.
My goal is to HOTSWITCH into it but I need to do it four to five separate times while not dying and waiting for the cooldown to go down.
Enemies surround me in tight corridors and blast at me through narrow pathways.
The hand bullet parry is the most useful Perk I bought so far during this Gauntlet along with the attribute enhancement and throwing ones.
After reaching 100% I find myself shooting the me sitting in a chair hooked on a VR screen and end up blacking out…
Just to regain vision a mere second later.
Now I'm another white void with a red guy in front of me while holding a pistol in my hand again.
This must be the start of the SUPERHOT VR levels.
I shoot at the motionless red where he shatters and reveals my actual location ins bother white coloured environment as more texts and chanting appears.
I go through the levels shooting, throwing and punching my way through some new and some familiar looking levels in reverse.
Until I end those too and destroy the pyramid which is black this time around.
Now another blackout and I'm confronted with a digital screen.
There were five options with different names.
[NINJA]
[THROWING]
[FULLSTOP]
[GHOST]
[HARDMODE]
Those were the names of the additional challenges I had to complete for the Gauntlet to conclude.
I would have to be tactical in the order I picked them since I would have to abide by certain rules when I chose them which would have to stack continuously until I completed them all in the last run.
Certain combinations in a bad order would make all of the upcoming runs more difficult.
I'm looking at you NINJA and GHOST.
I'm going to leave the latter one for last and NINJA as the first.
This time I go through all regular levels again but I can only use katanas and throwing stars while punches are out of the picture as well.
However I also gain a free speed boost.
Zooming through the levels with a katana for free as a starting weapon and extra floating shurikans I quickly complete the 32 levels again as a I sliced and reflected all of the bullets and red men that were coming after me.
Back in the black space I pick up THROWING as the second challenge for the third run.
This restricts me to only being able to throw items and reduced punching damage.
However since I wasn't allowed to punch anymore anyway I mainly relied on throwing the shurikans and sometimes even the katana to take out every red dude that came my way.
Thanks to the Perk ‚supthrow.hack' the shurikans even retuned to me after landing hits which saved time.
Next challange add on is FULLSTOP which stops time completely when I stand still but bullets fly faster and guns only have a single bullet when I pick them up.
This changed nothing much as with the projectile slowing aura around me the faster bullets were still manigable even in normal time and I couldn't use guns anyway thanks to other active Challanges.
The fourth Challange HARDMODE increased bullet speed even further, would have also reduced guns I picked up to only have one bullet and made more enemies spawn in numbers and trickier placements.
This is where I took the first bullet.
It impacted into me from behind in a tricky angle as I was backed up into a corner of a roundabout where there was an enemy just around it.
I felt the tiny object pierce into me agonizingly as I felt my very body slowly crack and shatter just as I did to every red guy before.
A creeping sensation washed over my back as consciousness began to fade steadily.
I tried to cling on but it felt like an impossible task as it began to spread further and further as dread appeared in me.
And then time crawled to a still as I was back at the beginning of the first level.
Time was frozen because I didn't move but the phantom pain lingered keeping me reminded of the first death I ever experienced.
My body was still but it didn't suppress my internal pressure that was build up.
I remained still as if rapidly breathing in my mind which was frozen from shock.
After about ten minutes I had calmed back down somewhat.
I was still shook but the imaginary teeth gritting and adrenaline only helped so much.
I never wanted to experience that sensation again.
And I would make sure of it.
With some newfound determination I restarted my struggle with the four Challanges active again.
It was mostly the same but this time I was more cautious with my positioning and what was around me and my back at all times.
Until I finally completed it which just left the last Challange to be added to the hodgepodge of rules I had to follow for my final run.
I still had 4 lives but I planned not to lose a single one more.
GHOST gave me the HOTSWITCH ability from the start of level 1 in comparison to the other Challanges where I only had access to it after a certain level, made punches instant kills and forbade me from picking up objects entirely.
Alone this would have been simple enough but with all of the other rules active I was only allowed to kill the red guys using HOTSWITCH which had a cooldown that only went down while I was actively moving because of FULLSTOPS complete time stop.
Maybe the bullets reflected from my Perks would still be allowed since it didn't require punching or having an item picked up directly?
Either way, the difficulty was quite high since I have to put myself into danger to kill all enemies now.
After the first level of the final run I was at least certain the reflected bullets we're usable without me failing the run.
I was constantly standing still using every waking moment to reaffirm my surroundings, enemy placements and more to always have my arms ready for bullet reflection.
It was easier when there were only melee red guys around as I could freely run around with the speed boost I got in normal time and then HOTSWITCH into them to finish them off.
Luckily I didn't die a second time and finished the Gauntlet successfully.
I fall to my knees on the familiar pure black ground of the Jump Selection Room.
This is what I started calling it atleast.
Moving over to the PC I claim my Gauntlet and Challange Rewards.
Because of the Special Challange I receive all of the regular Challange Rewards of the 5 normal Challanges.
For NINJA I can summon the black katana and throwing stars I had during the Challange at will and gain a 1.5 times speed multiplier.
Also while the ability SUPERHOT is active any bladed weapon receives the same benefit as the Item ‚strtkatana.hack' boosting their sharpness the faster I swing them and can substitute myself with nearby items to take hits instead which also only works while the SUPERHOT mode is active.
For THROWING my throw aim assist is further enhanced and while SUPERHOT is on thrown objects lethal for ordinary humans but also still do major damage to anything stronger.
For FULLSTOP I gain the ability to stand perfectly still which may not do anything on its own but with SUPERHOT active I can perfectly switch between full time stop or -slow whenever I want.
For GHOST I get a stealth enhancement big enough to recreate Retso Kaios or Monkey D. Luffys trailing right behind a patrolling soldier scenes.
Also I regain the HOTSWITCH ability to use in future Jumps with a few mor benefits such as only having past bodies heads explode when I want to, freely hopping between bodies and permantly staying in a possessed body if my main one dies while HOTSWITCH is active with me receiving a fixed up real body when the Jump that this happens in ends.
And for HARDMODE I already received the ‚killer.hack' Perk for free and an extra Discount that I could use and already did while filling out the document before the Gauntlet began.
As for the general Gauntlet Rewards:
I got a pretty big free supply of ammo for all kinds of firearms.
An armoury filled with all weapons that could be found during the Gauntlet (without any special properties unique to the CP purchased Items of course).
Pro Gaming Skills.
And an area which looks like a level of SUPERHOT where SUPERHOT the ability is always active and it spawns endless waves of red guys.
Only one person can use it at a time and nothing from within can be taken out so it's basically just a free virtual training arena.
I also gain free copy of the game.
With the PC's & VR Headsets property of using real life abilities in videogames and the game itself in my hands, the endless arena is kinda useless as I can just go into the arena of the game I now own instead of the real one I have to train.
The rewards didn't cost me enything though so I'll still take it.
After claiming my prizes with some mouse clicks the search bar tab opens up again.
I definitely had enough fighting skill improvements for now with a safe place to train them via virtual games.
Speedrunning through the levels was quite a chore and mentally exhausted my mind.
Thankfully the next Jump I planned to go to is going to be one with no physical fights and minimal psychological work involved.
As a bonus it is quite short too!
Typing in a few letters the recommendation function already displayed the document I was looking for.
Confirming my choice an app with a theater now appeared on the screen.
Its name was ‚Highschool Musical'.
Based around the Movie of the same name this was my first real Jump.
With my past two Jumps just being Gauntlets that were more of an exception to the rules I would now experience something a bit more expected from a Jumper.
I chose this Jump for a few reasons, the main one being that I was very familiar with the Jump doc itself thanks to me using it as the first Jumps when making my own Chains for different Jumperd before I became a Jumper myself.
Since it was based on a Disney property set in modern day the danger was minimal and because the writer of the doc itself made the Jump duration only take around one American school year it was quite good to ease new Jumpers into the role.
Especially since its familiar modern setting still allowed modern amenities to be of use and an early form of the internet to be used for knowledge gathering.
Also it had some decent Perks on the offer and a good amount of Drawbacks that practically didn't hinder the Jumper when taking them as long as they didn't plan to focus on music during the Jumps duration.
Thus I of course, would also choose to go here early since it also had a Lockdown Drawback that forbids away out of context abilities, items and companions.
For the first aspect of the Jump that would be important is the Location.
Sometimes called Starting Location like in this doc it represents where the Jumper would enter the world or regain their memories from if they weren't a Drop In.
Most of the time you either could freely choose, had to choose from usually 8 predetermined options or roll a dice to decide it.
In this Jump there was only one that every Jumper who would go here have to choose.
A Ski Lodge.
The Movie itself starts in this location while a New Years Party takes place.
This is also the exact time I will be entering the Jump from.
Next is the Age and Gender option.
In different Jumps the rules for this option change drastically.
In this instance the Age is dependent on what Origin is chosen and Gender can be chosen freely but is defaulted to what I was previously.
Gender options are more of a Sex option most of the time though with only Male or Female being acceptable as choices since others don't exist for humans.
… maybe hermaphroditism works since it is a real condition but I don't really want to find out since I will have memories of living in this world like that when I enter the Jump.
It will be best to try it out with the Genderbender Perk I have if I would be curious instead but I still didn't really think about that possibility before.
Now is Origin selection time.
This Jump has 4 different Origins based on some characters that are in the Movie.
‚Artsy Teacher' which would make my background in the Jump that of a teacher mainly focused on a kind of artistic subject.
‚Wildcat' which would instert me as an athlete student talented in a specific sport.
‚Freaky Genius' which would make me a student talented in scientific studies while also having crippling stage fright problems when it comes to music and an extra choice to choose if I am a transfer student to the Highschool the Movie takes pace in or not.
And ‚Talented Twin' which would make me a twin who has a talent in creative pursuits and has been a part of musicals in for a while.
Origins not only gave me a history and memories in the worlds I enter but also discounts on specific Perks and Items.
These are usually called Perk/Item Trees and have four Perks/Items that cost 100, 200, 400 and 600 points respectively but after a discount change their prices to free, 100, 200 and 300.
Thus for my min-maxing self it is best to take the Origin which offers discounts to the most Perks/Items of the same Perk/Item Tree that I want while using extra points to pick up non discounted choices that I want enough to take on additional Drawbacks for them.
This mindset makes my choice clear.
‚Freaky Genius' I choose you!
I am not really fond of most of the Items in this Jump but all of the Perks in this Perk Tree are excellent.
The added bonus of having nothing to do with musical stuff and being better at memorization based subjects is also good for a school setting.
The usual budget a Jumper receives from the documents is 1000 points and this Jump is no different.
If I want more points though I would have to take Drawbacks.
Now for the Perks.
There are two free Perks.
‚Continuity!' which allows for Jumpers who visit the same setting through different Jump docs or to be remembered to a degree they want to by people they have interacted with before.
Very useful if one plans to use Jumps that canonically happen after eachother like sequels to not have to rebuild connections with those one already met.
Technically it can also be used on alternate universe version of characters in the same Jump too.
Undoubtably useful for world travelers like Jumpers.
Especially for those large settings with a bunch of multiverse and time travel shenanigans like Marvel, DC and Sonic.
God, those comics continuities were weird.
The other free Perk is called ‚ A Star (Of the Disney Variety)' which makes me musically competent enough to be a supporting character in a musical.
By paying with 200 points I receive ‚Indiscriminate' which makes moving between groups easier as long as they aren't openly hostile towards each other as well as to create safe spaces.
For 400 points I take ‚Musical Logic' from the general Perks that can't receive discounts.
It is an uncapper for music, meaning all aspects music have no limit to be improved in which mesns with enough training I could make my singing or instrument skills good enough to make gods of music jealous.
That isn't the main part of this perk however.
Its main ability is to boost pretty much anything I do significantly while I sing.
Training, fighting, teaching, magic.
All of it would be improved while I sing.
It also works best if used on external things and action instead of internal ones and those nearby would also have a higher chance to join in the songs while receiving boosts in stuff like choreography while it's active.
A good buff is what it was.
Very helpful.
It also was a capstone booster.
Capstone Boosters refer to Perks that would give exclusive Perks for free if taken with specific other Perks.
In most normal Jump Documents it was usually limited to the 600 point Perks of the Origins like in this one.
Anyways, moving on to the ‚Freaky Genius' Perk Tree it's time to take my pick of excellent Perks for cheap.
The Perk ‚New Kid on the Block' became free with the discount and permantly gives new the new kid boost.
It means people are excited to meet and talk about me, people get energized around me and it inspires others to be more open about them self's without external pressure.
In short, not my kind of Perk.
I'm an introvert what did you expect?
I'd rather be left alone except when I'm rarely with friends or forced into social interaction…
Oh yeah, I almost forgot that I am still craving human contact from my one year separation.
Oh, it seems like I'm talking to myself again.
Fuck.
But it's still undoubtedly useful to have for social situation in the future but I'm definitely just going to leave it turned off during this Jump and most future Jumps.
Yoink.
Next is ‚„Genius" in „Freaky Genius"' which makes me smart.
Yeah it's that simple but still oh so good.
From the description it says I could effortlessly get full scholarships in prodigious universities with this Perk.
That is very good for me to effectively pass through school this Jump and then use it in combination with my training boosters and future Perks to learn and train in supernatural power system quicker.
A side benefit for it is also perfect normal and muscle memory too.
The next ‚Freaky Genius' Perk is ‚Decathlon Dominator' which gives you insane reading speeds to comprehend entire pages instantly and perfect recall everything.
With this I resolved my Body Mods memory boosts issue of not covering my memories before becoming a Jumper and it also lets me speed read through books by just flipping through them.
I can practically read out entire libraries in a few days or weeks with this.
The knowledge I could cram into my gnogging would be immense.
As for the Perk which now only costs 300 points ‚The Heart' which grants self-awareness on feelings and and how to effectively express them.
As a bonus I can't be confused on who I am.
With my very nature as a Jumper I enter worlds with memories of having lived multiple lives unaware of eachother, so having an extra insurance on knowing who I am is good.
And because I bought the capstone booster I also get ‚Emotive Singing'.
It makes my singing voice grant a portion of the previous Perks effects to those who hear me sing letting them have self discoveries, overcome doubts and making them overcome mind altered type states.
A very useful ability to have when interacting with people who lack in these areas.
Especially when in practically desitined to end up encountering teenagers who need serious character development in future Jumps.
There are so many character arcs of people I could skip with this thing it is not even funny.
Moving on to the the Items.
For free I get ‚Clique Fashion' which gives me a wardrobe of clothes fitting for the friend groups I surround myself with that boosts favorably within those very cliques.
By paying 400 points I also take 'Ski Lodge'.
It literally just makes me the owner of the Ski Lodge that is used as a starting location for this Jump.
It will make me good money even when not doing anything and follow me into future worlds as it imports into suitable spots automatically in future Jumps.
Nobody will also question me having ownership of it despite being a teenager which is a property that will cover any similar future Items or Properties I own.
It also has some self-discovery and romance deepening properties but I don't really care for those benefits.
From the ‚Freaky Genius' Items I only take ‚Cellphone' which has turned free from the Discount because the other options are not really worth the points.
‚Cellphone' is a mid 2000's cellphone that is indestructible, is waterproof and has infinite battery life while also having the property of guaranteeing meeting someone in favorable circumstances again in the next two and a half wreaks if a photo was taken of that person with consent.
This Jump is also one of the rarer ones that has Scenarios in them.
Scenarios is the official term for optional Challanges that can be taken while filling out Jumps that give additional rewards when completed but don't end the Chain when failed.
This Jump has two exclusively mutual Scenarios.
From the two I chose ‚The Start of Something New' which has me need to end the plot of the Movie as closely as possible.
This means the two main characters need to stay together through the callbacks, the schools basketball team wins the official game, the Academic Decathlon gets won too and the two main characters get lead roles in the Musical called Twinle Town.
In short, I just have to try and cause as little butterfly effects as possible by being a background character uninvolved with the plot.
If a butterfly effect appears I still have the chance to put the plot back on track but it doesn't matter too much if I get the reward for this scenario or not even if it would be better if I did.
As for my Budget, I was only 300 points in the red.
Now for the Drawbacks.
I take ‚Lockdown' leaving me with only my Body Mod again and the choices from this Jump for 600 points.
Then I take ‚Plot is King' for 0 points.
It allows me to leave after the plot of the Movie ends this shortening my stay by a few more months.
Next I take ‚Can't Sing' which makes me unable to perform in music contexts at all for an extra 400 points.
I also take a ‚Disney Voice' which removes access to music Perks that are not from Disney Settings for 200 points.
I personally don't care for music right now.
And ‚Voiced Over' which makes my singing voice sound entirely different as if someone voiced me over while I sing for 100 points.
I also don't really care for this.
Looking over at the available Drawbacks I also take ‚Commentary Bait' which makes me hear voices from people that are akin to reaction YouTuber channels that are watching a movie which is my life.
It will probably be annoying but I got pretty good at ignoring the Voices in my Head from SUPERHOT so I should be fine.
With the new 1400 points I can at least buy more stuff.
Going back to the Perk section I take the 600 point Perk ‚Understanding' which gives me luck in areas of making up with people who I and the other person dislike eachother somewhat.
Good for getting rid of unnecessary conflicts with some more eccentric characters that I would come in conflict in the future.
Even if it may end up annoying as I don't want to make up with people I hate most of the time.
Nonetheless it is useful for certain types of people if I need their cooperation for certain things.
Because of the capstone booster I also gain ‚A Kind Song' which makes my singing heal relationships.
This is very good for heavily tropish settings were unnecessary drama makes everything worse.
I can just sing and sniff those annoyances out early in the bud.
Then I also take ‚Teaching is my Dayjob' giving me a professional skill in teaching.
This can be very handy in the future for teaching more supernatural related skills but it also makes me competent on work such as grading papers letting me avoid more headaches in the future too if I were to decide to become a teacher temporarily.
Next is ‚The Power of Legacy' which allows me to be better at things related to what my parents and grandparents are known for the more similar I do something like them.
If my father during this Jump was a chef for instance cooking would make cooking slightly better but becoming a professional chef myself would grant a bigger boost to my cooking skills.
A nice bonus for only 100 points.
Then I also take ‚Universla Appeal' which makes me appeal to everyone for 200 points.
I will be accepted everywhere regardless and will be tolerated at worst if I didn't start anything first.
Then I take ‚A Reputation' for 100 points.
This like the name gives me a preexisting reputation in something that I am good at and makes other respect me for it even if they don't like me.
It works best on creative fields but any field of talent I have works with this.
From the Item section I also take ‚Artistic License' which would allow me to teach subjects related to the arts in this and future Jumps in a credential manner.
Mostly not useful now but maybe I will use it in the future.
Also only 100 points.
Thus my choices for this Jump conclude as well since my budget ran out again.
