Chapter 68 - Chapter 68 Returning to the Digital World

Two hours later, after Titamon was defeated and he set off his Dimensional Bomb; Lisa was at her laptop, which was hooked up to a small satellite that was pointing at the giant hole in the sky made my Titamon's explosion, and her entire family, along with Lincoln's friends, were waiting for her to give them some, hopefully, good news.

"Anything on that big hole in the sky, Lisa?" asked Lincoln.

"Not absolutely certain at this time, brother." said Lisa. "Is that really the Digital World up there?"

"Yeah." said Lincoln.

"Hopefully we can do something about it before anything comes out of it." said Stella.

"So, Titamon came here just to make that?" asked Lana.

"That's what he said." said Clyde. "Apparently, he wasn't alone in this plan."

"He has friends in the Digital World who are aiming to come here and take over our entire world." said Zach.

"Whoever he's working with is bound to be as bad as he is; maybe even worse." said Lincoln.

"I hope not." said Rusty. "It took our six Mega Digimon to manage to beat that guy."

"I'm sure we can take whoever comes over here from the Digital World." said Agumon.

"Yeah, let 'em try!" said Pulsemon

"Whoever Titamon is working for better hurry." said Lisa with a pleased look on her face.

"What do you mean, Lisa?" asked Lynn Sr.

"My scanners have confirmed that the dimensional breach is beginning to reduce in size." said Lisa.

"You mean it's shrinking?" asked Clyde.

"Precisely." said Lisa.

"Well, there's some good news at least." said Rita. Suddenly, from the Digital World, four streams of electricity come shooting out from separate locations and hit the edges of the hole.

"What's going on?!" asked Lincoln. Lisa takes a look at her laptop screen and sees something that made her jaw drop a little.

"It appears that those energy streams are stopping the reduction of the hole's diameter." said Lisa.

"Translation, please." said Luna.

"They're stopping the hole from closing." said Lisa.

"Bogus." said Luna.

"Who or whatever is making those energy streams obviously doesn't want that hole shut." said Zach.

"Most likely Titamon's allies." said Stella.

"What are we gonna do?" asked Liam.

"If we don't get that hole closed, then anything can come out of it at any time and attack Royal Woods; even the entire world." said Lincoln.

"But what are we supposed to do?" asked Clyde.

"I suppose we have no choice but to go back to the Digital World and take out whatever is creating those energy streams." said Lincoln.

"Now hold on a second!" said Lynn Sr. "I don't want you kids to go to a dangerous world, even though you have been there before and pretty much know plenty about it!"

"Your father is right, Lincoln." said Rita. "We just got you and your friends back to our world; we don't want to risk losing you again; possibly forever."

"I don't know what other choice we have." Lincoln replied.

"He's right, Mrs. Loud." said Zach.

"Even if what you said was true; how are you all going to get up to that giant hole when it's miles up in the sky?" asked Lori. Just then, the screen on Lincoln's artifact lit up; he looks at it and sees a familiar face.

"Hello, human children." said Jijimon.

"Hi, Jijimon!" said Lincoln as his friends and their families all gathered around him and looked at the small screen.

"How are you doing, Jijimon?" asked Clyde.

"Who are those people with you?" asked Jijimon as he sees Lincoln's family.

"These are me and my friends' families." Lincoln replied.

"It is nice to meet you all." said Jijimon.

"It's... nice to meet you too." said Rita.

"How are things in the Digital World?" asked Liam.

"Well; right now, there's a giant hole in our sky that has an entire world on the other side of it." said Jijimon.

"I think that's our world." said Stella.

"We have a hole in our sky showing your world." said Clyde.

"What is going on?" asked Jijimon.

"I'll explain everything." said Lincoln as he fills Jijimon in on everything that happened involving their battle with Titamon, along with what happened afterwards.

"I see." said Jijimon. "First off, let me congratulate you kids and your partners on defeating an opponent as formidable and powerful as Titamon."

"He wasn't so tough for the Rustman." said Rusty as he flexes his arms.

"But things are pretty dire here in the Digital World." said Jijimon.

"What's wrong?" asked Stella with concern.

"Four days after you and your friends left for Logic Volcano; many armies of evil Digimon have spread throughout our world and are causing devestation to everything in their paths." said Jijimon.

"That's awful!" said Clyde.

"Who's leading them?" asked Lincoln.

"We don't know." said Jijimon.

"Maybe whoever Titamon is working with?" suggested Zach.

"That's possible." said Lincoln.

"So far; our growing city of Floatia hasn't been attacked; but the residents fear that an assault is coming soon." said Jijimon.

"What can we do to help?" asked Lincoln.

"We can't exactly fly miles up into the sky to get through that hole that Titamon made." said Stella.

Just then, the image of Jijimon fades, and is replaced by another familiar face.

"Hello, human children." said Seraphimon.

"Hi, Seraphimon!" said Lincoln.

"We defeated Titamon." said Liam.

"Yes; I was listening in on your conversation with Jijimon." said Seraphimon.

"Isn't eavesdropping kind of rude?" asked Stella.

"Forgive me." said Seraphimon.

"Are things bad in the Digital World as Jijimon said they are?" asked Clyde.

"Indeed." said Seraphimon. "Armies of evil Digimon have laid siege to a large portion of our world; many have been captured."

"Is Angewomon okay?!" asked Rusty.

"She went out to help a small village that was being attacked by one of the armies just yesterday; but I haven't heard from her since." said Seraphimon.

"NOOOOOOOOOO!" shouted the boys, making Stella do an eyeroll.

"Now we have to go back to the Digital World!" said Rusty.

"Hold on a second, children." said Seraphimon before a bright light shine from the kids' artifacts; seconds later, a beam of light comes out from the hole in the sky and shines onto the ground behind everyone.

"What's that?" asked Clyde.

"It's a way to get from your world to ours." said Seraphimon. "If you wish to come to our world and aid us in our time of need, step into that light and it will bring you here."

"If Angewomon's in trouble, then I'm definitely going back there to rescue her!" said Rusty.

"No, I'm gonna rescue her!" said Clyde.

"I am!" said Zach.

"No, me!" said Lincoln before the boys make a fight cloud as they fought each other while Stella looks with disdain at her friends' actions. A loud whistle pierces the air, making the boys stop.

"Now hold on!" said Rita. "We just said we don't want you kids going back there!"

"But what are we supposed to do, Mom?" asked Lincoln. "Just sit around here while innocent beings are hunted down and enslaved?"

"And what if some of these evil armies come to this world?" asked Gaomon.

"We have to go to the Digital World and stop whatever's keeping that hole from closing." said Clyde.

"We understand, Clyde sweetie; but we don't want to let you kids go out into a hostile environment unsupervised." said Harold.

"What if me and my sisters came with?" Lori asked, getting everyone's attention.

"You girls wanna go?" asked Lincoln.

"We're not going to let you risk yourself alone." said Luna.

"Hey, we'll be with him." said Stella.

"Yeah, but there is safety in numbers." said Lori.

"And we have Digimon partners also." said Lana.

"You do?" asked Seraphimon. Lincoln then goes on to tell the celestial Digimon about how his sisters have acquired their own partners.

"I don't want all my kids putting themselves in danger!" said Rita.

"Mom, you let a four-year-old girl with dangerous chemicals in the same room that Lily occupies sometimes." said Lincoln.

"You let your six-year-old daughter wrestle alligators." said Clyde.

"You make us stay in a house during April Fools Day with an out-of-control prankster whose pranks sometimes cause physical, property, and psychological damage." said Lincoln.

"Hey!" Luan replied.

"Well, it's true." said Clyde as he remembered the prank involving hay and a bunch of crows.

"And you make us visit a woman who, literally, makes us eat expired pudding." said Lori.

"But all that pales in comparison to going to a world filled with hostile creatures." said Rita.

"We can take them!" said Lynn Jr.

"We said NO and that's final!" said Rita. Lincoln lets out a sigh of defeat.

"Fine." said Lincoln. "I promise I won't go to the Digital World."

"Good." said Lynn Sr.

Later, that night at the Loud house, while Lynn Sr and Rita Loud were in bed, reading books; Lincoln was quietly coming out of the attic with camping gear.

"I know I told my parents I wouldn't go to the Digital Word, but..." said Lincoln before raising his hand, revealing he had his fingers crossed. "...had my fingers crossed." He then takes a walkie talkie out of his pocket.

"Clyde, do you read me?" Lincoln whispered into the walkie talkie.

"I read you, buddy." replied Clyde.

"Are the others ready?" asked Lincoln.

"We're all packed and ready to go." replied Clyde.

"Are you at the park?" asked Lincoln.

"We're all here, Lincoln." Lincoln hears Stella say through the walkie talkie.

"Ready to mosey on to the Digital World?" asked Liam.

"Me and Agumon are ready." replied Lincoln. "I'll be there in half an hour."

"You mean we'll be there in half an hour." Lincoln hears Lori say to him in a quiet tone behind him. He turns to see his sisters and their Digimon, wearing backpacks.

"You guys want to come, too?" asked Lincoln.

"You think we're going to miss out on an adventure like this?" asked Lynn Jr.

"Plus, I would like to do some research on the Digital World." said Lisa.

"If you don't let us go with, we're telling Mom and Dad." said Lola.

"We're family, Lincoln; we stick together." said Lori. Lincoln nods before he holds the walkie talkie towards him.

"My sisters are coming along, too." said Lincoln.

"I guess we need all the help we can get." said Zach.

"Okay; time to start Operation: Save the Digital World." said Lincoln.

"I hope Mom and Dad won't be too mad." said Leni.

"They'll get over it." said Lynn Jr. She turned towards Pulsemon. "Ready to kick some evil digital butt, Pulsemon?"

"You know it." replied Pulsemon, punching his palm.

"Wet's save Digital World." said Lily who was riding on Bearmon.

"You got it." said Lincoln before he pulls a poster off his wall, revealing a rope that he pulls, releasing his inflatable slide.

"I am glad I installed that." said Lisa. Everyone and their Digimon partners quietly go down the slide and enter Vanzilla; once everyone was squeezed into it, Lori starts it up. A few seconds later, the front door of the house swings open, and the Loud parents come out.

"What are you kids doing?!" asked Rita.

"Sorry, Mom!" said Lori before she floors it and backs out of the driveway and heads towards Tall Timbers Park.

"You kids come back here!" shouts Lynn Sr.

"Dad, there's a spider on your shoulder!" said Lana, making Lynn Sr shriek and thrash around, and getting Rita's attention.

Twenty minutes later, Vanzilla arrives at Tall Timbers Park and pull up next to Lincoln's friends and their partners who were standing near the beam of light that Seraphimon made for them.

"Hi, buddy!" said Clyde.

"Hey, everyone." said Lincoln.

"Did your parents notice you all leaving?" asked Liam.

"They did when Lori started the engine." Lucy says from behind Lincoln's friends, startling them.

"So are we doing this?" asked Lynn Jr.

"We should hurry before Mom and Dad show up." said Lori.

"It'll take them forever to get here on foot." said Luan. Everyone nods before Lincoln and Agumon walk over to the beam of light; taking deep breaths, the two step inside it and immediately begin floating up towards the hole in the sky.

"Hang on, Digital World; we're coming!" said Agumon. Everyone else starts doing the same thing.

"I'm coming to save you, Angewomon!" said Rusty.

"Not if I save her first!" said Clyde.

"Boys." said the girls present.

Soon, everyone went into the beam of light and were on their way to the Digital World.

What new adventures and enemies await the group upon their return? Wait and find out.
