As Licht and Alysa reached the ball, Licht was with Mia and Alysa was with Helios.
As Alysa came in, Licht said, "Glad you made it."
Alysa said, "Yeah, sorry. I hope I didn't keep you waiting too long."
Licht said, "No, no. I just got here myself."
Alysa said, "You sure are punctual."
Helios said, "For some reason, I doubt that."
Licht said, "Of course I'm punctual."
Mia said, "Actually, the Admiral is lying. He is never on time. The only reason we reached here before you is because I had to drag him out of the shower. He was in there for 3 hours, and any more time and we would have been late."
Licht said, "Mia, you are supposed to cover for me. And I'm not that high maintenance. Come on, tell them."
Mia said, "Do you wish for me to lie, sir?"
Licht said, "Am I really that high maintenance?"
Mia said, "Yes, sir. I have a list of items to help you with, including waking you up from sleep 7 times a day, reminding you to finish your shower 3 times a day, not to mention feeding you 17 times a day and reminding you of your daily duties as an Admiral, besides patrols and subjugation missions."
Licht said, "I'm not that—" As his eyes widened.
Alysa said, "Umm, Licht?"
Licht said, "It can't be. This power—this intense, sharp magical power. It's her King's Roar, that's for sure. But why is she here? Here of all times? As of right now, there is a chance you can die."
Alysa said, "What? Why?"
Mia said, "Sir, I don't sense anything."
Alysa said, "Same."
Licht said, "You can't. You two are far too weak-willed. The King's Roar when unleashed at a certain level, only the strong can feel it. This power—it's too much. And right now, it's an intimidation display."
Helios said, "He is right. I can feel it too. It's none other than her."
Licht said, "She is right behind the door. And the problem isn't that she is here. The issue is if Liebe finds out, it won't be pretty. Not to mention right here, right now, behind those very doors, I can feel an endless stream of bloodlust—one that overpowers the King's Roar. And I'm certain it's her alright. And for whatever reason, she is mad as hell."
As someone entered the ballroom, it was a woman. It was a face with unparalleled beauty—long hair up to the shoulders, eyes and hair as dark as the night sky, black hair reflecting natural light, skin pale enough to be comparable to the moon. A beauty unparalleled.
Licht said, "Like I said, she is here. Our Captain."
As Lilith walked up to Licht, she said, "Greetings. If you can excuse me, I didn't want to cause a ruckus, yet as it is my first time in a long time joining you, you can't mind me for being anxious while in enemy territory, now can you?"
Alysa said, "Wait, it's her?"
Mia went to her knees and said, "Captain—"
Lilith said, "Rise, Mia. No need for formalities."
Licht said, "Captain, why are you here? If Liebe finds out, he will be mad. Please leave. You are only making it worse."
Lilith whispered, "It appears you are mistaken, my dear friend Licht Vaude. The one standing before you isn't our Captain Lilith Faust, but rather it is your so dear friend Liebe Faust. I do certainly hope I'm not intruding in your little conversation now, am I?"
Licht said, "Captain, please leave now. This isn't helping anyone, and Liebe will really be mad when he gets here."
Liebe said, "It is me, my dear friend." As he whispered in Licht's ear.
Licht said, "You really are Liebe?"
Liebe said, "What's wrong? Is the truth simply too hard to follow?"
Mia said, "Wait, this really is the Fleet Admiral and not the Captain?"
Liebe said, "In the flesh. And you, dear, are certainly looking beautiful tonight."
As Mia blushed and fainted.
Licht said, "Liebe, what happened to you? What happened to your face? Normally you look about 49% like the Captain, but right now you look exactly like her—or at least 98%. Wait, it's like you used to when we were 7, before your face changed."
Liebe said, "Yes. This is my true look, the one I have hid. I only use it when I feel like it. But , normally this look disgusts me."
Licht said, "Bro, right now you look like a model out of a magazine. Wait, why is your hair also taller? And why so smooth and shiny? I swear it was short and messy just 30 minutes ago."
Liebe said, "My hair is naturally smooth and shiny, just like my mother's. But while my mother bothers to do the bare minimum and shampoo once a month, I don't even shampoo once a year. Yet before moments such as these, I use my darkness to grow my hair by providing the nutrients. Then I use some hair oil and wait 5 minutes before shampooing. And here is the result."
Licht said, "I still have a hard time believing you are Liebe. Are you sure you aren't Aunt Lilith and Liebe told you my secret?"
