"Ancient Dragon? Are there dragons here? What do they look like?"

Susie's curious voice pulled Miss Audrey's wandering thoughts back. She curiously turned her gaze, appearing to listen attentively.

Leyton, who had concealed his form, chuckled and said, "The dragon worship customs here are the anchors He prepared for Himself."

"He?"

Audrey keenly noticed Leyton's choice of words.

"Yes, He! He is a Mind Dragon, equivalent to a Sequence 2 Angel of this pathway. In that ancient era, He was also one of the subsidiary gods of 'Dragon of Imagination' Ankewelt."

That night, at the Hall family's manor in East Chester County.

Leyton revealed his concealed form. He sat by the fireplace in the dining room, enjoying the warm firelight and hot coffee.

"Don't you worry about not being able to sleep if you drink coffee at night?"

The golden retriever Susie lay on the soft cushion opposite him, asking curiously.

Leyton savored the precious coffee provided by Miss Audrey, and replied leisurely, "I probably won't get any sleep tonight. I have to go into the dream to find that Ancient Dragon. He doesn't seem to want to see me very much."

"Doesn't want to see you? Why?"

After her personal maid had gone to sleep, Audrey quietly returned to the dining room, just in time to hear the conversation between Leyton and Susie. She couldn't help but ask curiously.

Leyton pondered for a moment, then said without any reverence or respect, "Perhaps He's worried about some conspiracy from the God of Knowledge. He is the most intelligent dragon! It's normal for other dragons to be afraid."

The most intelligent dragon? Is the God of Knowledge a member of the dragon race? What about the other seven gods? Could they also be members of an ancient race? Audrey's thoughts couldn't help but wander.

"Almost everyone is asleep. I'm going to the dream world to find that Ancient Dragon."

"I am not a Beyonder of the Spectator pathway, so I cannot bring my body into the dream world. I need to trouble you to look after my body in reality. If anything unexpected happens, you can try to pray."

Leyton calmly explained the matters needing attention to Audrey. This was also the reason he accepted Audrey's invitation.

Exposing his body directly in a dragon's territory was simply too unsafe.

Audrey nodded gently, smiling as she replied, "No problem. With me and Susie, two Beyonders, there won't be much of an issue."

"And, if I encounter an unsolvable problem, I can still try to pray!"

"Thank you for your trouble." Leyton nodded slightly.

He finished the last sip of coffee, put down the milky white ceramic cup in his hand, then stood up and gently pressed his right hand forward.

Circles of light blue ripples spread out, and a layer of silver-white emerged, forming a clear mirror in mid-air.

Leyton's reflection appeared in the mirror. His eyes were surrounded by faint blue fluorescence, appearing exceptionally calm and rational, yet full of wisdom.

He silently raised his right hand, extended his index finger in front of his eyes, simulating the Psychiatrist's "psychological cue" ability, leaving himself with psychological suggestions for quickly falling asleep and remaining clear-headed in the dream.

Then, he took a step back, leaned back in a semi-reclined position on the sofa behind him, closed his eyes, and quickly entered a meditative state.

After falling asleep, his spirit was slightly dazed. He looked around blankly, then quickly regained clarity.

It was still the dining room of Miss Audrey's manor, but the golden retriever Susie and Miss Audrey were no longer there, only the flickering firelight in the fireplace remained.

"Is this the dream world?"

As he murmured softly, he turned and walked towards the hall connected to the dining room.

In his eyes, faint blue light lingered as he attempted to directly simulate the Door pathway's ability, opening a "Door" in his own dream leading to other dreams.

The light blue, wave-like ripples immediately spread out, but the "Door" never materialized.

"Cannot directly cross dreams... It must be that the knowledge I possess is insufficient. How could the free and unconstrained Door pathway be restricted by a single dream?"

"This afternoon, I should have asked Leonard to analyze some Nightmare abilities."

As he murmured softly, he had already walked into the hall and headed towards the manor's main entrance. Without the Door and Nightmare abilities, he could only explore the dream in a more cumbersome way.

In the dining room outside the dream.

Audrey gazed at Leyton, who was now breathing steadily and seemed to be peacefully asleep, and sighed softly:

"I also really want to explore the dream world, to find the dragons hidden in the spiritual world, just like those described in adventure stories."

"It's a pity that Ancient Dragon is too powerful and too dangerous. If that Ancient Dragon were only a demigod, perhaps I…"

"Audrey, you seem to have spoken your mind. This isn't like you."

Susie tilted her head, looking at Audrey with a puzzled expression. Her furry face was full of confusion and bewilderment.

Audrey froze for a moment, then quickly examined herself.

A moment later, she murmured in confusion, "No problem, right?"

"Susie, did you notice anything?" Audrey looked at the golden retriever beside her, asking.

"Notice? The bones tonight were exceptionally delicious…"

Susie froze, then shook her head and said, "Hmm, I'm not very clear. I'm just a dog!"

"The bones today were exceptionally delicious? But Susie, the chef at home hasn't changed…"

Audrey's words suddenly got stuck. A terrifying thought formed in her mind… Is this a dream? Is that why Susie and I are in this state of speaking our thoughts directly without thinking?

If this is already a dream, then what is Mr. Tines exploring? A dream within a dream?

Audrey's thoughts churned. She spread her attention to her surroundings and found that the manor was exceptionally quiet tonight, so quiet that it seemed no one else was present.

What should I do? Do I need to wake Mr. Tines? But I don't know his current state, waking him rashly… Prayer, is prayer in a dream still effective?

After only a slight hesitation, Audrey, with a mindset of trying, turned around, facing away from Susie, and softly chanted The Fool's honorific name:

"The Fool that doesn't belong to this era, the Mysterious Ruler above the Gray Fog, the King of Yellow and Black Who Wields Good Luck."

"I pray to You, I have encountered…"

She repeated it three times in a row, but received no response.

It really doesn't work, does it? Is it because prayer in a dream is useless, or is this dream being affected accordingly, isolating the effect of prayer? Audrey sighed in frustration, pondering other solutions.

"Audrey, what were you just mumbling about?"

Seeing that Audrey was no longer murmuring, Susie immediately asked curiously.

Before Audrey could answer, she continued, "The manor is so quiet today, it makes me feel a bit strange."

"We haven't already been affected by that Ancient Dragon, have we?"

"Yes, we have a high probability of already being pulled into the dream by that ancient being."

The thought that flashed through Audrey's mind was spoken out loud the next moment.

Will this dream make people honest? But what's the point of doing that? What could an Angel of the Spectator pathway possibly hide from Him?
