While Audrey was still pondering, Susie's voice continued to ring in her ears:
"A dream? Then all those delicious things I ate last night were fake."
Audrey felt as if she heard the sound of heartbreak in Susie's words.
"This dream also has a certain ability to confuse perception and influence one's thoughts. Why wasn't I affected? Is it because I've already realized this is a dream and am no longer influenced by my subconscious?"
Deep within the dream, Leyton's consciousness traversed through layers upon layers of dream mazes. The dream layers here accumulated, vast as an ocean, so much so that he couldn't even see the boundaries.
"Something's not right. This isn't a normal dream maze. Have I fallen into some peculiar domain? Or is it an illusion that affects the mind?"
As he pondered, Leyton stopped his steps, and the light blue glow in his eyes surged.
Immediately, he leaned back, arms spread, as if embracing the Sun.
A miniature Sun, pure and blazing, entwined with countless sacred flames, was summoned by him.
The miniature Sun continuously expanded, its blazing radiance engulfing everything. The original dream maze instantly transformed into a scorching, dazzling pure white.
"Indeed, it's not a dream maze..."
He murmured, extending his right hand into the air, attempting to dispel the surrounding light and restore the surroundings to their original state.
After a long moment, there was no reaction whatsoever.
He had lost control of that miniature Sun.
Leyton paid no mind, he casually chose a direction, and spoke aloud as he pondered:
"Ariehogg?"
"I came by the oracle of the God of Knowledge. At most, I am a medium for your communication. Your refusal to meet me is useless. The moment you exerted influence on me, the Omniscient One had already seen you."
"Hmph! Traitor, still trying to communicate with me?"
"I am not that cowardly old thing, Alex, who would turn and betray Him just to prolong his life a little."
A highly oppressive voice directly resounded in Leyton's mind, and the strong sense of "deterrence" caused his spirit to be momentarily chaotic.
When he recovered, the dazzling, blazing pure white surroundings gradually faded, revealing a towering mountain peak. At the summit of the mountain, there was a slender, lizard-like Monster.
Its body was the size of a small mountain, its surface covered in large, grayish-white stone-like scales, each inscribed with complex and three-dimensional mysterious symbols. Its eyes were pale gold and vertical.
Leyton only observed the mysterious symbols on its scales for a moment before he felt his mind becoming disordered and his thoughts twisting.
Dragon, its True form is a mythical creature… The thought briefly crossed his mind, he calmed himself down and said with a heavy voice:
"Ariehogg?"
The grayish-white Dragon perched on the mountaintop seemed to be extremely far away, yet also seemed to be right before his eyes. Its pale gold vertical pupils appeared exceptionally bright, clearly reflecting Leyton's figure into its gaze.
In just an instant, Leyton felt his body and mind stiffen, unable to turn any extra thoughts in his head.
Not a simple "deterrence" ability, but also mixed with some psychological cue and hypnosis… When?
"When you stepped into this domain."
"Before an Ancient Dragon, carelessly entering a dream, to some extent, your courage is far greater than that of the betrayer."
Ariehogg's voice directly resounded in Leyton's mind, penetrating his spirit, causing a soul-shaking sense of tremor.
"He did it on purpose, what a terrible personality. I'm just a messenger, what's the point of making things difficult for me? The God of Knowledge is watching here…" Thoughts flashed through his mind, quickly calming down, as he awaited the Ancient Dragon's reply.
"This is my spiritual domain, even a True God would find it difficult to enter."
Ariehogg's voice echoed in his mind, sounding very confident.
"Even the Omniscient One?"
As soon as he opened his mouth, Leyton suddenly found that the pressure on his body had greatly reduced, and he could speak again.
Ariehogg did not answer this question, perhaps out of disdain, or perhaps it was not certain.
Its voice still echoed directly in Leyton's mind:
"You've been trying to recall the Dragon King and the City of Miracles just now, was it to make me appear? What do you want to tell me?"
An urgent desire to state the True facts began to spread within Leyton's heart, gradually becoming stronger.
He didn't pay much attention to Ariehogg's guidance, merely pondering and choosing his words carefully:
"The City of Miracles, Liveseyd, was hidden by the Dragon King in a book called Groselle's Travels, which happened to be obtained by someone from the Church of the God of Knowledge and Wisdom."
"Within that book, there is a completely True world."
"The consciousnesses of the beings living in that world are intertwined, forming a spiritual world as well."
"Liveseyd is hidden deep within that spiritual world."
"Liveseyd…" Ariehogg's voice, imbued with fondness, echoed in Leyton's mind:
"When that book appeared, Liveseyd was still floating above the sky."
"Perhaps the Dragon King once conjured more than just one City of Miracles… Have you been to Liveseyd? What is the situation there now?"
Ariehogg's voice gradually returned to calm, but as a Prophet, Leyton felt that some subtle changes were occurring within this spiritual Dragon.
He is about to awaken… The thought merely flashed through his mind, then he truthfully answered the other party's question:
"I haven't been to Liveseyd yet, but I know the situation there."
"The hall there will directly echo the inner voices of the surrounding beings, and beneath that high throne, there is a seal, seemingly sealing the Dragon King's past fears and other negative emotions…"
"On the stone wall behind the hall, there is also a mural depicting a story centered around Groselle's Travels, extending from the second epoch all the way to the fifth epoch."
"Why didn't he allow Groselle's Travels to meet the Quill of Alzuhod… How did he know Ariehogg was my lingering clone… And why did he want to help me return?"
Ariehogg's voice interrupted Leyton's narration. He could feel that the guidance and "deterrence" that had previously acted on his body and mind had all disappeared, but his spirit became even heavier, as if facing something extremely terrifying.
At this moment, the personality belonging to the former Dragon King, Ankewelt, awakened within his lingering clone, the Ancient Dragon Ariehogg!
He seemed even more terrifying, though his appearance hadn't changed much… Well, it wasn't entirely unchanged. His eyes became brighter and deeper, and exceptionally calm.
