As Leyton observed them, a deep blue glow flashed in his eyes, and his gaze penetrated beyond their appearance, revealing the faintly steaming vapor and continuously rotating gears behind these two somewhat plump cats.
A Savant, and not a low Sequence one at that. Could they be two bomb-crazy cats?
As thoughts flickered, he saw the two cats stand upright on the railing, hands on their hips, and declare:
"I am Brie."
"I am Ritz."
"We are Artisans, masters of creating mechanical and Mystical Items!"
"Brie? Ritz? Can you drive Robots?"
As Leyton spoke, a scene of a giant Robot launching mechanical grappling hooks floated in his mind.
Brie, the somewhat clumsy cow cat, tilted her chin slightly and said with an arrogant tone:
"We are Artisans; we can easily control any mechanical creation."
Ritz, the orange cat, focused on the first part of Leyton's previous sentence. It said with a serious tone:
"What is Britz? We are Brie and Ritz!"
Interesting cats. I'll try to persuade them to build a Robot named Britz!
As thoughts flickered, Leyton smiled and spoke to the two plump cats:
"Britz is a powerful Robot. It can launch mechanical grappling hooks to pull distant targets closer and release powerful electric currents to attack enemies. Only true mechanical masters can create it!"
The orange cat Ritz's eyes lit up, and it said excitedly:
"We are true mechanical masters!"
Brie, the cow cat beside it, directly slapped its head with a paw and said calmly:
"A Robot? Is it the combat mechanical puppet that Emperor Roselle mentioned in his books? Even if we build it, you, who don't understand mechanics well enough, won't be able to control it."
Leyton chuckled. He didn't rush to explain but quickly reached out and patted the orange cat's head before it could react.
In Ritz's somewhat dazed and unreacting gaze, Leyton chuckled and explained:
"I don't need to drive the Robot, but as Artisans, don't you think such a Robot is cool?"
"Moreover, building such a precise and powerful Robot can both help you digest your potion and significantly enhance your combat capabilities, isn't that right?"
"The Savant Pathway, before Sequence 5, has almost no direct combat ability. Given the functionality and scarcity of Artisans, aren't you afraid of being kidnapped one day?"
"Who dares to kidnap us?" The orange cat retorted disdainfully.
"Ritz is right." The cow cat Brie nodded in agreement.
Leyton was momentarily speechless, sighing internally for his alternate-world Britz concept, then saw Brie ponder and nod again, saying:
"However, digesting the potion is still very necessary."
Ritz immediately stood up and declared loudly: "I'll make the attack system!"
Brie nodded lightly and said with a solemn tone: "Then I'll be responsible for the body and power system."
Leyton inwardly sighed about the two unique kittens, then looked down at Brie and Ritz, asking with sincere tone:
"Since you've adopted my suggestion, can you also adopt the appearance I provide for the Robot?"
"It's not impossible, but the design must be reasonable!"
The cow cat Brie rubbed her chin with a paw, assuming a thoughtful expression, and said.
"It seems you two are getting along very well."
A soft female voice sounded from beside him. Only then did Leyton realize someone had appeared beside him without him noticing.
He turned his head to look at the person; it was Glenn Palace, who had just been lecturing in the classroom.
Leyton's gaze passed Glenn and looked at the classroom behind her. The students inside were quietly reading, but every now and then, a few curious glances would be cast towards the window.
Brie and Ritz, on the railing beside them, quickly jumped down and stood on either side of her, like two personal bodyguards.
Glenn casually brushed her hair, which had fallen forward, behind her head. Her eyes, deep and profound, looked at Leyton, a kindly smile gracing her lips, and she said:
"I didn't expect to meet two 'Knowledge' devotees in such a short time. It seems the time is indeed near!"
"My name is Glenn Palace. Ethan already introduced me to you."
Leyton nodded slightly. His gaze lingered on her for a moment, then he smiled and nodded, saying:
"Al Tines, considered the person in charge of some of the Knowledge Church's affairs in the South Continent."
"I didn't expect the first member of the Moses Ascetic Order I officially meet to be a Sage!"
"Haha, your perception is very clear, but I shouldn't be considered the first member of the Moses Ascetic Order you've met. You stayed on Cattelya's Future for nearly half a year, didn't you? And before meeting me, you already knew Ethan, didn't you?"
Glenn covered her mouth and chuckled twice. Her tone was somewhat playful when she mentioned Cattelya, but she did not deny Leyton's words that she was a Sage.
"A Sage?" Ethan's pupils suddenly contracted, and his gaze towards Glenn changed repeatedly.
Ethan swallowed, asking somewhat nervously: "Why would you personally come to teach them?"
"Didn't you invite me? I happened to be free, so I came to experience what it's like to be a teacher."
"Moreover, I am also very interested in this system called Spirit World Sorcerer. I feel it is highly compatible with the Mystery Pryer pathway; it seems this system itself represents the will of the Hidden Sage!"
Glenn calmly answered Ethan's question. When she spoke the last sentence, her gaze deepened as she looked at Leyton, seemingly awaiting an answer.
"How can a system based on knowledge surpass knowledge itself?"
Leyton responded with a sigh. He had expected the other party to continue asking why the Hidden Sage had not spread this system to the Moses Ascetic Order, but Glenn directly moved past the topic.
"Since it's a system promoted by the Knowledge Church, you should understand it better. You can teach them the afternoon class."
"Just right, I also need time to explore this new system."
Glenn spoke in a calm voice, yet it conveyed an undeniable sense of authority.
Leyton nodded indifferently. After chatting with Glenn for a while, he continued to tour Paz Valley First Technical University with Ethan. After promising to teach classes there in his free time, Leyton followed Brie and Ritz to their home.
The two cats dashed through alleys and across rooftops with an agility completely unsuited to their size, easily scaling walls and passing through narrow openings.
Leyton casually pulled an illusory hat from the void and placed it on his head, concealing his form. His figure occasionally flickered, allowing him to steadily follow behind them.
In less than ten minutes, he followed Brie and Ritz to the back door of a clock shop, watching the two cats expertly climb the wall and leap into a room on the second floor.
Leyton's figure instantly blurred and vanished. When he reappeared, he was already in the room on the second floor.
The room here was very large, as if several rooms had been knocked together and renovated. Various machinery and parts were piled up haphazardly around.
Brie and Ritz moved lightly through the cluttered room, clearing a small table that was barely clean, its surface covered with small biscuits of various shapes.
Ritz, holding a pale yellow cup, walked to a strange machine that looked like a kettle, placed the cup down, and gently pressed a red button beside it.
A buzzing mechanical sound started, and soon, dark brown, steaming coffee flowed into the cup.
Ritz held the coffee cup with both paws and placed it on the small table filled with various biscuits. It enthusiastically greeted Leyton:
"We only have a coffee machine at home, so you'll have to make do with coffee. Brie and I originally planned to invent a juice machine, but Glenn likes coffee, so we made it into a coffee machine!"
Leyton looked at the two cats busy with blueprints, casually picked up a biscuit, and popped it into his mouth. Amidst the crunching sounds, he asked with a slight curiosity:
"You call her by her name directly?"
"Yes, we're partners."
"Glenn took us in. In return, we make her some machines to improve her life, and occasionally help her craft Mystical Items."
"But she never uses those things; she sells them all for money and then buys alcohol."
"Some are also used to buy potion ingredients for us. We owe her a lot of money."
"Currently, we still have to work for her for two hundred years to pay it off."
Brie and Ritz spoke one after another, their hands never stopping.
There are too many things to complain about; I don't even know where to start… Leyton couldn't help but mutter to himself. He then picked up the coffee on the table and took a sip, using it to hide the expression on his face.
"Hmm, this coffee is very good!"
"Is your coffee machine for sale?"
Feeling the taste of the coffee in his mouth, Leyton's eyes lit up. This machine even added milk and honey to the coffee; the flavor was perfectly balanced. As expected of Artisans, it made me want to get a cat to raise.
Brie and Ritz exchanged glances, then said in unison:
"Yes, but only after we've built the Robot Britz."
"No problem." Leyton nodded lightly, then walked over to them, took two blank blueprints, and spread them flat on the ground.
He always had a habit of carrying spellcasting materials with him. He casually pulled a handful of colored powder from a secret pocket in his brown trench coat. After evenly sprinkling the powder on the paper, the powder spontaneously formed a vivid, colorful drawing.
On it were various views of a brightly colored Robot. It had a somewhat round body, a fist with an embedded missile launcher on the left, and a giant claw on the right that was almost as large as its torso, connected by a retractable tube, each with a cockpit.
Brie and Ritz also came over at this time. The two cats watched Leyton's recreated Robot image from memory with serious expressions, shaking their heads and nodding, occasionally exchanging glances.
"This claw is too big; it won't work without a separate power system. And its shape is also very strange; many parts don't conform to dynamics."
"But the exterior design is good, even if it's just for show."
"Energy is a big problem. Maintaining the operation of such a machine requires a lot of energy, but it can't carry too much itself."
"That's right, unless we use Beyonder characteristic as energy, but that will inevitably have negative effects."
Listening to Brie and Ritz's discussion, Leyton reached out and rubbed his forehead. Indeed, once it involves their professional field, Savants also have a tendency to lecture. No wonder many people from the Steam Church work at universities.
Sighing inwardly, he looked down at Brie and Ritz, who were already discussing intensely, and tapped the small table in front of him with a finger. After attracting their attention, Leyton chuckled and said:
"Regarding the energy problem, I have an idea."
"Do you know about the Cannon of Purification?"
