Dong!
A melodious bell sound seemed to transcend endless time and distance, echoing in the gray mist and within the crimson light spot representing the Dark Demonic Wolf's connection.
In the Forsaken Land of the Gods, Dark Demonic Wolf Kotar, who had just left the castle, froze. A giant stone wall clock's phantom image reflected in its eyes.
The mottled wall clock's surface was divided into twelve segments, each either gray-white or bluish-black, intermingled but with clear boundaries, and each possessing different symbols.
The longest hand on the wall clock quickly rotated one full circle counter-clockwise, and a melodious bell sound echoed in its ear.
Dong!
An indescribable, invisible torrent seemed to sweep through long history, instantly covering Kotar's vision.
This caused Kotar's movements to become uncontrollably sluggish, frozen in place like a lifelike sculpture, its intended Miracle abruptly interrupted.
The moment Kotar's body stiffened, the Door above the castle had already formed, and streams of complex and pure information surged out from it, covering the surroundings and stirring up an indescribable and irresistible information storm.
Bang! Bang!
Giants, Elves, humans, Vampires, and even Monsters hidden in the darkness within the castle, almost simultaneously had their heads explode from being overloaded with vast amounts of chaotic and useless knowledge.
In a mere breath, Kotar lost all its Marionettes!
The invisible and complex knowledge rapidly converged and reorganized. In mid-air, stars emerged, dense and dazzling, casting down rays of light onto the ground.
Silently, the surrounding space was isolated, making even information difficult to exchange.
Without mastering the correct method, Kotar found it difficult to leave this place using its Beyonder abilities.
On the ground, the stiff and dazed Kotar had recovered. It looked up at the surroundings covered by brilliant starlight, its neck raised high, letting out a rhythmic whimper. This was the language of Demonic Wolves:
"I wish: Divine Kingdom, descend!"
The surrounding starlight suddenly became dim and ethereal, and darkness surged like a tide, forming a standoff with the bright and twinkling starlight.
The headless corpses in the darkness stood up one after another, transforming back into Dark Demonic Wolf Kotar's Marionettes, including the Monsters that originally belonged to the darkness.
Snap!
A crisp snap echoed in the air. The surrounding gravity instantly vanished, and Kotar's Marionettes, the castle roof tiles, ground bricks, tables, chairs, and other objects floated uncontrollably into the air.
Then, within the magnificent pillar of light formed by the converging clear starlight, they were gradually dissolved, collapsing and dissipating.
Amidst an almost roaring wolf howl, the surrounding darkness seemed to come alive, surging upwards layer by layer, continuously engulfing and transforming the covered Marionettes into a part of the darkness, making them difficult to be dissolved by starlight.
While the two sides were in a stalemate, Klein had already completed the spatial displacement above the Gray Fog using the "Box of the Great Old Ones," moving his main body near Dark Demonic Wolf Kotar's castle.
After doing all this, he quickly left the space above the Gray Fog, his consciousness returning to his body.
Klein, still holding a dim yellow lantern, quickly approached Kotar's castle. In his sight, the castle in front of him looked completely different from what he had observed above the Gray Fog: peaceful, quiet, and seemingly without any abnormality.
Klein instinctively stopped, reaching out to press on the air in front of him, and as expected, touched an invisible wall.
Then, following the method Leyton had previously described, he chanted a spell and replicated a Mystical symbol, opening a starlight-filled Door on the invisible wall.
The moment the Door appeared, Dark Demonic Wolf Kotar, trapped inside, noticed it.
It exchanged positions with the nearest Marionette, instantly appearing near the Door, and encountering Klein.
Klein, having already anticipated this scene, threw an iron cigarette case forward without hesitation. The cigarette case opened in mid-air, revealing a Loen gold coin inside.
A flash of light appeared on the coin's surface, and a figure wearing a gloomy, elaborate long dress, carrying four golden-haired, red-eyed heads, flashed past.
The next second, Reinette Tinekerr's figure appeared within the Dark Demonic Wolf's pitch-black pupils, which occupied three-quarters of its eyes.
Angel-level Wraith Possession!
Reinette Tinekerr's figure had just appeared within Kotar's pupils when she detached, expanding in place and returning to her normal size. Her Wraith Possession had failed.
During the brief delay, Leyton had already closed the door Klein had opened in the barrier, and Kotar's attempt to escape also failed.
At the same time, Kotar's body rapidly shrunk and thinned, finally becoming a translucent black velvet curtain that continuously absorbed the surrounding light.
Then it emerged on the other side, eight legs on the ground, neck raised, letting out a roaring hiss.
As its voice sounded, the black velvet curtain suddenly floated up, instantly expanding and merging with the surging darkness around it, and strangely fusing with the floating starlight above.
Kotar utilized this characteristic of the Attendant of Mysteries to strengthen the ancient god's Divine Kingdom it had summoned with a Miracle, attempting to break through the isolation created by Leyton in this way.
Simultaneously with Kotar's series of actions, Reinette Tinekerr, holding four golden-haired, red-eyed heads, took out the Yesterday Reappearance charm from Klein.
Her several heads simultaneously chanted in Ancient Hermes, Jotun, Dragonese, and elf language:
"Yesterday!"
The square diamond-like charm was instantly engulfed by transparent flames. At the same time, Reinette Tinekerr's four golden-haired, red-eyed heads overlapped and fell onto her empty neck.
Relying on the power borrowed from her past self, Reinette Tinekerr briefly regained her strength.
Her body instantly swelled, turning into a castle-sized giant rag doll.
She wore a black Gothic long dress with countless runes and distorted evil vines, her eyes blood-red, staring fixedly at Dark Demonic Wolf Kotar.
The next second, Dark Demonic Wolf's huge body suddenly shrank, turning into a fluffy, curly-haired goat!
In the surging darkness, a Marionette's body expanded, taking on the image of Dark Demonic Wolf Kotar.
Before it could make any move, Kotar stiffened, lost in thought. Its head was filled with a large amount of chaotic, useless, and dangerous knowledge, almost bursting every Worm of Spirit's head, leaving it with no extra energy to think about anything else.
This knowledge, transmitted along the Spirit Body threads, made it difficult to guard against, difficult to avoid, and difficult to bear.
On the other side, Reinette Tinekerr once again reflected Kotar's body in her scarlet eyes. At the same time, she opened the giant rag doll's mouth, revealing scarlet fangs and a tongue, letting out a harsh, unpleasant shriek.
Kotar's mountain-like Demonic Wolf body suddenly contracted, its flesh and blood continuously wriggling, turning into a black-and-white cursed goat!
The next second, a brilliant white lightning bolt descended out of thin air, piercing through the goat's chest, shattering its heart, and ending its life.
With the goat's death, the curse on it automatically dissipated, and it reverted to the size of a small mountain, an Dark Demonic Wolf with eight legs and a tuft of white fur on its head.
At the chest of the Demonic Wolf's corpse, a long spear of the same size as its body was embedded. The spear's tip seemed to have penetrated the ground, leaving only a section of the handle, like a withered tree branch, inscribed with many strange symbols and patterns, exposed.
With the death of the Dark Demonic Wolf, the surrounding darkness rapidly receded, and the headless Marionettes fell one after another, turning into corpses. Red, cyan, scarlet, silver, and orange phosphorescence continuously exuded from these corpses.
In mid-air, the dazzling and twinkling starlight shattered inch by inch, turning into shimmering stardust, rapidly re-forming to reveal Leyton's figure.
The isolated space around them also returned to reality.
Klein only felt a blur before his eyes, and the scene before him had undergone a drastic change.
The originally ancient and magnificent castle, resembling a giant's dwelling, had become dilapidated. The roof, windows, and outer garden had all disappeared. On the ground lay many headless corpses, among them Giants, humans, Elves, and Sanguine, and even Monsters from the darkness.
In front of the castle, a mountain-like Demonic Wolf was impaled by an equally exaggeratedly large long spear, stuck to the ground, having already lost all signs of life.
Beside the Demonic Wolf's corpse, Miss Messenger, carrying four golden-haired, red-eyed heads, stood quietly in place. Beside her was Leyton, whose body was unaffected by gravity, floating a few centimeters off the ground in a leisurely posture.
Klein, holding a dim yellow lantern taken from the historical void, quickly approached.
His gaze was drawn to the giant Demonic Wolf corpse impaled on the ground in front of him. He couldn't help but swallow the saliva in his mouth and exclaimed with emotion:
"An Dark Demonic Wolf, equivalent to a Sequence 2 Angel, and possessing characteristics comparable to a Grade 0 Sealed Artifact, was killed just like that."
Leyton shook his head and said in a calm tone:
"Seers are very fragile. Even a slight touch can cause serious injury or even death."
"It's a pity it's a Miracle Invoker. Dying once isn't a big problem for it. It can be resurrected in no time."
"What, are you planning to guard the corpse here?"
Klein quickly shook his head and said, "Of course not. This might not succeed, and staying in one place for too long could attract Amon's attention."
"Then, let's divide the spoils of war." Leyton suggested, simultaneously raising his hand and snapping his fingers, summoning invisible servants to clear the battlefield.
Klein nodded and spoke first, "I only need that 'curtain.' It contains the characteristics I need."
