Chapter 19 - Ch19: Room.1611

Laya's eyes sparkled with intrigue. She suddenly caught sight of James discussing something with the hotel manager. She gestured for the manager's attention. He hurried over, a hint of concern creasing his brow.

"What happened, Ma'am? Do you need anything?" He was eager to help.

"Look at that girl in the white dress," Laya replied, her voice a mixture of curiosity and excitement. "Do you know anything about her? Is she seeing anyone?"

Leon leaned closer, his interest piqued for reply. There was something about the girl that intrigued him deeply. He felt an inexplicable pull but restrained himself, sensing that Laya had bigger plans in mind.

"White dress?" The manager scanned the room, and a flicker of recognition flashed across his face. "Oh, that's room 1611."

"1611?" Laya's curiosity intensified, and she leaned in.

"Yes. I remember her well. Her name is Mira. She's not from Ravengrade; I guess she's a tourist," the manager explained, his expression shifting to one of intrigue.

"But you meet countless guests. Why do you recall her so vividly?" Leon interjected, genuinely curious.

"She was... unusual. When she booked, she specified room 1611, but it was already taken. After a bit of persistence, she contacted us again—offering thrice the usual rate for it—three days in that room, where she wore the same white dress every day. But here's the odd part: she's never left the hotel."

"Is there something special about room 1611?" Leon raised an eyebrow, confused.

"Strangely enough, it's just like any other room," the manager responded, shaking his head. "Nothing out of the ordinary."

"Maybe there's a memory tied to it…" Finn speculated, connecting dots in his mind.

"Exactly," the manager agreed. "After all this, I was curious enough to check our records. She never actually checked in or registered before!"

The number 1611 echoed in Leon's mind like a haunting melody. He felt the urge to learn more about this enigma unraveling before them.

"I need to know," Laya declared, suddenly rising like a sprinter at the starting line. She dashed forward but collided with a passing waiter, sending plates and glasses tumbling in a dramatic cascade. The sudden commotion sent drinks flying, splattering them both in a mix of colors.

"Just great…" Laya grumbled, rolling her eyes but unable to hide her excitement. With the waiter flustered and the ground littered with broken glass, they both headed back to change, melding with the chaos around them.

Leon watched as they walked away, a part of him wishing she would turn and catch his gaze. But she was captivated by the world outside, his thoughts undoubtedly racing toward the mysterious girl in white. Maybe she's waiting for something—or someone, Leon mused, before stepping out into the evening air, his heart beating with an unknown anticipation.
