Three days had passed since James set out to investigate Mira, and Leon was a tempest of emotions, caught between anxious anticipation and bubbling curiosity. He trusted Finn's instincts but found himself pacing impatiently, awaiting the report. Despite the immense influence of both the Deskmore and Hales families, Leon insisted on keeping the investigation discreet, aware that drawing attention could stir trouble for Mira, a girl they barely knew but already cared about.
During company meetings, Leon's mind drifted, his focus slipping away like sand through his fingers. Peculiar speculation buzzed around the office—where was James? The mounting worry only deepened Leon's unease. At last, after three grueling days, anxiety reached a boiling point, prompting him to make his way home. Just then, Finn's call broke through the haze of his thoughts.
"Leo... James is here. Come home. We are waiting."
Leon's heart raced. "Is everything fine???" His voice was a mix of hope and trepidation.
"For you, it's not a bad outcome..." Finn's words held promise, and without hesitation, Leon sped home.
Bursting into his room, he found Finn and James waiting, anticipation crackling in the air.
"Her name is Mira Ashanmoore," Finn announced, a hint of excitement dancing in his eyes as he handed over a file.
Leon flipped it open eagerly. The details poured over him, stirring emotions he didn't expect. Mira, an orphan from Zanorra, had spent her childhood in the Ashanmoore orphanage. Now, she was in Ravengrade, working as a librarian in a school and staying in the hostel there.
"James, did you look into this orphanage?" Leon asked, his pulse quickening.
"The orphanage has been closed for years—another state," James replied. "It shut down due to financial issues, but there are no criminal ties. It seems to have been a genuine place."
Finn chimed in, "Since she uses the orphanage as her surname, it's likely she has fond memories of her time there."
Leon nodded thoughtfully, feeling a warmth in his chest.
With a mischievous grin, Finn lifted the file higher. "Leo, would you consider donating a building to the Hales International School? "
Leon stared at him, taken aback. "Huh??"
Finn's eyes sparkled with enthusiasm. "You won't regret it… "
A smile spread across Leon's face, a hope igniting in his heart.
