After work, Yohan drove Mia and Remi down to Helen's house.
It took a while before she appeared.
"You're already here." She collapsed onto the couch and let out a small exhale.
"Yeah, what's up with you?" Yohan asked, noticing she looked more tired than usual.
She raised her head and looked around. "Where are Mia and Remi?"
"They went to the grocery store to get some things... what happened?"
Helen paused for a bit.
"Today... I walked into a meeting between the commissioner of police and Mayor Grant. They were talking about the incident with Hatoru."
"The commissioner?" Yohan repeated. "Does that mean they were all working together?"
"At this point it's obvious that's the case, but the real issue came after the meeting."
She told it exactly as it happened. The commissioner had called her back into his office.
It was only the two of them, and this time he didn't ask any questions. He simply handed a file over to her.
"Open it," he said with sinister calm.
