The screech of shoes against the cold hospital linoleum sounded like an abnormally racing heartbeat. Leonardo didn't care about his disheveled appearance, his sweat-soaked shirt, messy hair, and eyes filled with restrained madness. "Leo! Slow down, you're going to hit someone!" Sebastian shouted from behind, his own breath coming in ragged gasps.
Leo didn't listen. His world had crumbled the moment he received the call from the central hospital. His mind was consumed by the image of Valerie's mangled car and her fragile body. He slammed into the reception desk, his hands trembling violently.
"Valerie Kessler! Where is she?!" his voice thundered, causing the staff behind the desk to jump in shock.
"Wait a moment, Sir... Ms. Kessler was just moved to the third-floor operating theater," the staff member replied after nervously checking the system.
