Chapter 105 - Traces Left Behind

The air inside the Slither Ring felt colder than usual, or perhaps it was just the chill in Sebastian's bones as he stared at the giant monitor before him. The room was illuminated only by the blue glow of a row of computers, humming a constant, low drone. In the suffocating silence, the only sound was the lightning-fast clicking of Juno's fingers against the keyboard.

"Can you focus a bit more, Jun?" Sebastian spoke, his tone low but laced with heavy pressure. He stood directly behind Juno's chair, hands gripping the backrest, eyes unblinking as he watched the blurry CCTV footage.

Juno didn't offer a verbal reply. She let out a small grunt, a gesture indicating she was already pushing herself beyond her limits. "Patience, Bas. This is from an ancient infrared sensor. I have to manually clean the noise on every single frame if you don't want his face to look like a lump of pixels."
