They entered what looked like an ordinary restaurant. After they sat down at a table, Mr. Liu Zhijie, the plump boss, said, "Mr. Yang Bo, I'm sure you have a lot of questions. Let me speak first."
Yang Bo nodded, and Liu Zhijie continued, "Our company mainly focuses on high-end cleaning services. That means providing home cleaning services to celebrities and politicians.
"You might be wondering, don't these people have smart cleaning robots in their homes?
"They don't. I've seen your files, Mr. Yang Bo. In today's technological era, as long as there are machines, there are no secrets.
"Our company employees are all residents. When on the job, your wristband must be stored separately. Therefore, you must follow orders during the service process, as these celebrities have many valuables.
"Of course, as service personnel, keeping our clients' secrets is our number one priority. I don't want anyone leaking anything they see."
Hearing this, Yang Bo understood for the most part. Those celebrities definitely had their own secrets and privacy to protect. Intelligent Systems and robots were great, but the risk of information leaking was simply too high.
"Understood. I will follow the company's rules and regulations," Yang Bo nodded.
"Very good. Mr. Yang Bo, I've looked at your resume. If I may be so bold to ask, why are you looking for a job?" Liu Zhijie asked, looking at Yang Bo again.
Yang Bo glanced at the wristband on his arm.
Liu Zhijie spoke up, "Don't worry, Mr. Yang Bo. This restaurant is a custom-made private venue. Any Intelligent System that enters this restaurant will enter a dormant state."
Yang Bo was shocked, realizing that the background of a restaurant like this was definitely not simple. However, he didn't say anything else, only replying, "I want to buy a house."
"Understood. Our company provides dormitories. Are you interested in that?" Liu Zhijie asked.
"Not for now." Yang Bo didn't know the other party's background, so he wasn't in a hurry. He wondered if living in someone else's dormitory would mean being monitored.
"These are traditional grilled lamb chops. The sheep are grass-fed and raised naturally, without any technological enhancements. All the seasonings are naturally grown as well," Liu Zhijie introduced.
After finishing the meal, Yang Bo returned home. He hadn't had a chance to test his Transmigrator perk, and he couldn't be sure if the wristband had any other hidden functions.
"Master, it is recommended that you exercise for an additional twenty minutes tomorrow. Your exercise volume today did not meet the standard."
"Master, it is recommended that you switch to a thinner carpet to avoid potential hazards."
"Master, it is recommended that you lower the temperature by 0.8 degrees. Your pulse is a bit fast."
Yang Bo felt like his head was going to explode. He had no idea how the original owner of this body had tolerated this in the past. Lying on his bed, he also felt a bit strange about himself. In his previous life, hadn't all he wanted been a life without worrying about food or drink, where he could play games and sleep whenever he wanted? Now that these exact conditions were laid out in front of him, why was he going out of his way to find a job instead?
"Master, insomnia has been detected. It is recommended that you play some soothing music..."
The next morning.
When Yang Bo woke up, he wasn't in a very good mood. He hastily ate breakfast, sorted his garbage into different categories, and took it out to throw into the respective bins.
Anzhijie Service Company was located inside a high-end community. It was a standalone building, similar to a villa, with very simple decorations.
"Yang Bo, welcome to the company. Most of the service personnel here take on projects individually. This is Wu Bin. He will show you the ropes for the first two days, and after that, you'll be on your own." Liu Zhijie guided Yang Bo over to introduce him to a veteran worker. This older worker was also wearing a wristband, dressed in a hoodie and jeans. He looked to be in his thirties, with black hair and black eyes, standing about 1.8 meters tall. However, seeing his slightly heavy build, Yang Bo guessed that the man at least owned his own house.
"Hello, Yang Bo," Wu Bin said, extending his hand.
"Brother Wu, please take care of me," Yang Bo said, reaching out to shake his hand.
Afterward, Wu Bin took Yang Bo to collect his equipment. As they walked, he said, "The services we provide here are all custom-made private services. The salary is high, but there are various requirements. In a nutshell: don't look at what you shouldn't look at, and don't know what you shouldn't know. Understand?"
"Understood," Yang Bo nodded.
"Today's task is to clean up a garden. As long as you have the task sheet, the logistics department will have everything prepared." Wu Bin looked like an ordinary, slightly chubby man.
After they collected their gear, Wu Bin added, "The company has cars, but of course, many of our clients will personally send someone to pick us up. That's the case for this time.
"Once we get in the car, we won't be able to see outside. Because from the moment we get in, the service has already begun.
"Before the service begins, we are required to take off our wristbands. They'll be returned to us when we leave, so there's no need to worry about that. The company can guarantee the safety of every subordinate."
The two of them changed into their work uniforms and grabbed their equipment. Wu Bin handed the task sheet to Yang Bo. "Read the service details carefully once you get in the car."
"We don't need to sort the garbage separately?" Yang Bo asked, scanning the service details.
"No need. The communities our clients live in are all extremely high-end. The property management will handle a secondary sorting of the garbage," Wu Bin explained.
Yang Bo nodded. Not long after the two stepped out the door, they saw a luxurious, champagne-colored Anti-Gravity car pull up and stop.
Wu Bin checked the license plate and led Yang Bo into the vehicle. Once they got inside, the car windows turned gray, blocking any view of the outside. They couldn't even see out the front windshield. The upper half of the car looked somewhat like the bubble canopy of a fighter jet Yang Bo had seen in his previous life.
"Relax," Wu Bin said. "Our wristbands are in a dormant state right now as well. Because this is a private car, according to Federation law, barring the involvement of judicial authorities, the space inside a private car is considered private territory, possessing absolute privacy and rights."
There were far too many Federation laws. Without a lawyer, one wouldn't even know if they had broken the law. Of course, unintentional violations that didn't affect others generally weren't punished.
When the car windows finally displayed the scenery outside again, they found themselves already at the gates of an estate. Wu Bin led Yang Bo out of the car, carrying their own equipment.
At the estate entrance, a person dressed as a security guard verified their identities. He then had them place their wristbands into a box and handed each of them a paper name badge.
Only then did they enter the interior of the estate. It was incredibly vast; they could see lakes, lawns, and a castle connected by stone-paved roads. An old-fashioned electric cart pulled up, and the two of them hopped in.
The castle seemed to have a bit of a Gothic style, but not entirely. Yang Bo didn't know if this world had any connection to Earth, but regardless, he hadn't found any information about it online.
The cart came to a stop on the left side of the castle. A butler dressed in traditional attire was already waiting there.
"Thank you for your trouble, gentlemen. Please do not leave this garden. If you have any needs, please press this button here." The butler looked to be in his fifties, unsmiling, and his tone brooked no argument.
"Understood," Wu Bin and Yang Bo nodded.
The two began cleaning the garden. The job entailed uprooting all the plants in the garden, stuffing them into bags, leveling the dirt, and sweeping the ground clean.
Yang Bo and Wu Bin officially got to work in their uniforms.
Yang Bo was clearing away some vines when suddenly, a black shadow flew up. Subconsciously, Yang Bo swatted down with the shovel in his hand. A bat fell to the ground, and blood slowly seeped out from it.
Sound Wave Positioning +1!
"Brother Wu." Ignoring his Transmigrator perk, Yang Bo hurriedly found Wu Bin.
