Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Cleaner

Inside the bathroom, Yang Bo looked at himself in the mirror. He was 1.82 meters tall and weighed 75 kilograms, with black hair, black eyes, and handsome, clean-cut features. The original owner of this body was nineteen years old this year, having come of age three years ago, as the age of majority here was sixteen.

The original owner had strictly followed health recommendations, so his physique looked perfect. However, Yang Bo felt it was somewhat unreal, as if he were just occupying someone else's body.

"I need to find a job. Please filter the options for me," Yang Bo said as he stepped out after washing up.

In this world, renting an apartment came with personal privacy. One didn't need to sort their trash because they paid fees for it, nor did they have to listen to the suggestions of these intelligent programs. Renting was the same as buying a house; the interior of the room was personal territory and came with many privileges.

Right now, he was living in government housing, so there was no privacy. The authorities operated under the guise of protection and care. Of course, the main reason was that someone had once died in a government room, leading to public criticism that the government wasn't taking enough responsibility for vulnerable groups.

"Master, based on your educational background, the job you can do is a cleaner," the Intelligent System answered. "It is recommended that you go to the community service center. There will be more detailed information there."

Hearing the word "cleaner," Yang Bo pondered. In this world, buying, selling, and killing small animals were strictly regulated, and many small animals had micro Biological Chips implanted in them. Therefore, being a cleaner might be the best way to verify his Transmigrator perks.

"System Daddy? Power on?" he silently called out in his heart. He had tossed and turned for a long time the previous night, but no messages had appeared, leaving him somewhat depressed.

Early the next morning, Yang Bo ate breakfast. The boxed meals were stored in the refrigerator; whatever he wanted to eat, he just had to heat it up in the microwave. All free food was like this.

After eating and getting dressed, he headed out. The door opened automatically as he approached.

When he reached the elevators, his Smart Watch guided him to the correct one, where the doors were already open and waiting.

Downstairs, the streets were spacious and tidy. Intelligent cleaning robots were working hard, the landscaping was well-maintained, and the ground was paved with stone tiles.

The pedestrians coming and going walked at a normal pace. Occasionally, someone standing on an Anti-Gravity Skateboard would zoom past, drawing envious glances from the crowd.

The main road was divided into two levels. The first level, occupying the space below four meters, was for public transportation like maglev buses and Anti-Gravity taxis.

The second level, spanning from four to eight meters high, was reserved for private vehicles, mainly Anti-Gravity cars. These private cars were fully autonomous. Once the owner set the itinerary, the car would take them anywhere. The owner didn't need to lift a finger to control the interior temperature, humidity, music, or the automatic doors.

"Advanced, too damn advanced," Yang Bo muttered as he walked, observing the various modes of transportation. The skateboards looked like Ordinary skateboards, but they utilized superconducting and Anti-Gravity systems. They had no wheels, only handrails on top.

Those wearing wristwatches were residents, while those without were citizens. The difference in status was clear at a glance.

A citizen's level was related to their degree of genetic unlocking. C-level citizens could learn to be a Mecha Pilot, B-level could learn to pilot an Air-Ground Combat Aircraft, A-level could learn to pilot a Space Battleship, and A+ citizens could even learn to pilot a Space Battleship. As for the legendary S-level, a single person could wipe out an entire Fleet.

The Interstellar Federation was divided into three major factions: the Water Blue Empire, the Crimson Federation, and the Eden Alliance, where Yang Bo was currently located. The three factions fought against each other but also kept one another in check.

Yang Bo was in Wall City on the Pado Star.

The Water Blue Empire operated under an Empire system, the Crimson Federation under a constitutional monarchy, and the Eden Alliance was a true Federation Council system.

In terms of technology, the three nations were about the same. Regardless, after all these years, the Three Great Empires remained just as massive.

As for genetic development, it was initially divided into two schools. The first was the Ancient Martial Sect, which stimulated one's own potential. The second was the Technology Faction, which relied on Genetic Potions. Obviously, Genetic Potions held a massive advantage; over the years, the Ancient Martial Sect had practically disappeared.

"Wang Technology Company launches the 14th generation Quantum Chip technology."

"Ping An Technology Company launches the 12th generation individual Weapon, Rift," Yang Bo read from a billboard on a blue building.

It was an S-shaped Weapon, looking as if two Curved Sabers had been pieced together. It had no hilt. In the center sat a transparent crystal, emitting a captivating fluorescent glow.

The entire Weapon appeared golden. As it flashed through the air, it left behind a trail of golden light.

Looking at this Weapon, Yang Bo shook his head. This type of Weapon required at least a C-level citizen to use. The crystal in the center of this Weapon was an Energy Stone; a 500-gram Energy Stone was equivalent to over 50 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity. The higher the purity, the more terrifying the Energy it contained.

Ninety percent of the Weapon was made of superconducting materials. Inside, it housed a Quantum Chip that could link with the human body's Biological Chip without any delay. Furthermore, this Weapon possessed an Anti-Gravity system and an Energy System, allowing it to vibrate tens of thousands of times within a single second. Unless facing a Warship's Energy Shield, any other object would be like mere air before this Weapon.

With the support of the communication system, the time it took for a user to slaughter their way from the planet's Antarctic to its Arctic depended entirely on the performance of the Weapon and the user's abilities.

"This thing is more powerful than the Flying Swords in novels," Yang Bo thought to himself after watching the advertisement.

Of course, this Weapon also had a weakness, and that was communication. Therefore, typical users wouldn't deploy it too far away to prevent interference. Moreover, such Weapons were registered throughout the entire Federation, and many areas strictly prohibited bringing them in.

At the community service center, there were both robotic and human services. The young lady attending to him was extremely beautiful and had a great attitude, though it was all strictly formulaic.

Yang Bo inquired and found out that with his educational background and resume, he could only work as a cleaner—and a Low Level one at that, unauthorized to operate large-scale intelligent machinery.

The training took place right there at the community center. Low Level cleaner training was very simple: it covered how to protect oneself, what equipment to wear for various environments, what cleaning agents to use for different materials, and that when providing services to individuals, one must respect personal privacy and not secretly record or steal anything.

The training required twelve hours. He was the only person participating, but there were several instructors. The training duration was strictly twelve hours.

The food at the training center was much better than what he had at home. He could tell the meals were freshly made, not churned out from an assembly line.

The next morning, Yang Bo's expression was calm, but inside, he was ready to explode. His Smart Watch was more nagging than a mother. The main issue was that he could let his mother's advice go in one ear and out the other, but if he didn't listen to the Smart Watch's suggestions, it would force him to undergo psychological treatment... Yang Bo guessed it would be similar to being sent to a psychiatric ward.

Unexpectedly, right after finishing his assessment in the afternoon, a job opportunity arose. A chubby middle-aged man approached him. He had silvery-white hair and black eyes, wearing a blue plaid shirt, jeans, and sneakers. He looked to be in his thirties and didn't have much hair left on his head; his attire certainly didn't make him look like a boss.

"Mr. Yang Bo, would you be willing to join our Anzhijie Service Company?" the chubby man asked, looking at Yang Bo. In this day and age, there were simply too few people willing to go out and look for work, yet his business required manual labor—specifically, manual labor from people with resident status.

"Mr. Liu, I am willing," Yang Bo said after reviewing the terms. There was a three-day probation period, and he would be signing the contract right there at the community center.

"Ah, that's wonderful! Mr. Yang Bo, let me treat you to dinner. I can explain our company's business to you along the way. Our company offers very generous compensation."
