Chapter 21 - Chapter 21: Invisibility +16!

"Dynamic Field of View +1!"

"Dynamic Field of View +1!"

"Thermal Imaging Vision +1!"

"Flying +1!"

...

A string of information flashed through his mind, but Yang Bo couldn't feel happy at all. After a moment of calm thought, he found it strange. He had scanned the burning area with his radar; there shouldn't have been any allies there.

As for whether it could be an enemy target, Yang Bo didn't think so. This was right next to the base. With all those High-Energy Beam emitters, Laser Cannons, and high-energy Particle Weapons mounted on the 800-meter-tall ridge, an enemy would have to be crazy to come here.

Moreover, the base's Reconnaissance system was incredibly thorough. Let alone the surface, even thousands of meters underground could be detected with crystal clarity.

Just as Yang Bo was worrying, a new message suddenly appeared in his mind.

Invisibility +16!

"Uh, could that dark shadow from earlier have been a B-level target?" Yang Bo was momentarily stunned, but then he quickly figured it out.

"Invisibility?"

Yang Bo silently called up his Skills in his mind and found that a new one had indeed appeared: Invisibility, Intermediate (16/100).

He hurriedly opened the game, and the screen came back to life...

Meanwhile, under a distant starry sky on another planet, the personnel at Base 16 were somewhat bewildered. First, they saw a Mecha cutting grass, and then they saw it setting fires?

In the next second, the entire base's defense system was activated instantly. Laser Cannons and high-energy Particle Weapons were brought online.

"Alert! Alert! High-threat target detected."

"Defense system activated."

"Target eliminated!" Piercing sirens blared through the base, but less than a second later, they stopped.

Only then did the base management react. Orders were issued methodically, and soon, the wreckage struck by the Laser Cannon was retrieved.

On Yang Bo's end, the game had a picture again, but it was still a black screen displaying that his Mecha was damaged.

Yang Bo used the combat replay feature. Looking closely, he saw a Mecha charging out of the fire. This Mecha was also humanoid, but its material looked very strange.

His Mecha's Blade had stabbed into the opposing Mecha, followed immediately by a blinding flash of light.

Yes, the Mecha Yang Bo was piloting had been blown up by the base's defense system.

"Sir, given that you discovered a B-level Infiltrator, the game officials are providing you with a new Blade Mecha free of charge. We wish you a pleasant gaming experience." And with that single sentence, Yang Bo was dismissed.

Yang Bo wanted to ask more questions but didn't know how to phrase them. Since they insisted it was a game, then it was a game.

The game screen returned to the inside of the Mecha. Yang Bo then opened his inventory and found 500,000 Gold Coins, which was equivalent to 500,000 Credit Points.

There were three emails in his inbox. The first was a warning, telling the player not to start fires indiscriminately and destroy the natural environment, lest they face severe penalties.

The second was an apology. The base's alert system had blown up the player's Mecha, so they were issuing an apology. It also mentioned that if the player had any requests, they could communicate with customer service.

The third was a reward. For discovering the B-level Infiltrator, he was rewarded with 500,000 Gold Coins.

Yang Bo first reviewed the combat replay carefully. He hadn't actually killed the enemy; his Mecha's Blade had simply damaged the opponent first, and then the opponent was blown up by the Laser Cannon.

"It seems as long as I damage the opponent first, I can still get the reward." Yang Bo didn't contact customer service right away because he wasn't sure what he needed yet.

Also, the fire had already died out. Yang Bo wanted to check the rewards he had obtained, so he silently recited his Skills in his mind.

Swimming: Advanced (125/1000)

Flying: Master (1402/10000)

Disguise: Basic (4/10)

Sound Wave Positioning: Intermediate (18/100)

Dynamic Field of View: Master (4032/10000)

Thermal Imaging Vision: Advanced (203/1000)

Electric Energy Control: Intermediate (12/100)

Light Energy Control: Basic (4/10)

Mecha Pilot: Basic (8/10)

Invisibility: Intermediate (16/100)

Yang Bo felt incredibly hungry, and his whole body felt tense. He stood up and stretched, his bones CRACKING. He went to the bathroom and took off his shirt. He had a perfect physique; one look was enough to tell it harbored explosive Power.

He charged himself up with electricity, drinking milk at the same time.

He looked at the 35% power consumption and thought, "My body has already evolved. How much had I consumed when I charged after work?

"Two Master Level Skills... I wonder what kind of impact they will have on me?

"I have money in the game now; I won't be short on cash for a while.

"What should I do next in the game? In what direction should my abilities develop?

"I should focus on auxiliary abilities first. In this highly technologically advanced world, no matter how strong your combat power is, it can't compare to the Laser Cannons in space.

"So what benefits should I ask the game officials for? Even though I know this isn't a game."

Wearing his pajamas, Yang Bo walked over to the window and looked at the massive airport in the sky. Illuminated by the starlight, it was always so brilliant. This thing wasn't just beautiful; it was deadly. It housed all kinds of Weapons capable of easily destroying a city.

His mind was full of questions. Since they had such advanced technology, why did the world inside the game need Mechas to deal with targets? Wouldn't launching attacks from space suffice?

So what organization developed this game? The military? And what was the military's purpose?

Was it for Genetic Potion materials, or something else?

The myriad of questions in his head made Yang Bo feel that, although the world he saw was so beautiful, endless abysses lurked beneath that beauty.

"I should prioritize improving my strength. Buying a house can wait." Yang Bo had just had an impulse to use his game Credit Points to buy a house.

Now that he had a direction, Yang Bo took immediate action. He opened the game and began communicating with customer service.

"Customer service?" Yang Bo directly accessed the game to chat.

"Respected player, how may I help you?" The customer service agent's voice was mechanical.

"Being hit by the base's Laser Cannon has caused me immense psychological trauma. I demand compensation for mental distress," Yang Bo decided to try bluffing first.

"We apologize, player. When you entered the game, the game officials already informed you that Mecha World is a highly free-form game where players must face various potential events. If you were harmed, our company expresses its regret," the customer service agent replied swiftly.

Yang Bo was speechless. The customer service's meaning was crystal clear: play it or don't!

"Then I request an animal distribution map for the area surrounding the base," Yang Bo quickly presented his actual request, completely unabashed.

"That is permissible. However, given the player's low level, we can only provide a distribution map of creatures up to the D-level," the customer service agent agreed immediately.

Yang Bo mumbled inwardly at the quick compliance, "Could this customer service agent be a real person with a high clearance level? Otherwise, they wouldn't have agreed so readily."

"I also need a map for various Ordinary animals, including small ones."

"That is permissible, but animals move. The official data provided can only reflect the situation at that specific time."

"No problem." Yang Bo mainly wanted to avoid wasting time searching the surroundings with his radar, as the Mecha's radar detection range wasn't very large.

Opening the map in his inbox, Yang Bo quickly found what he needed: electric eels, located in a lake in the plains, two hundred and eighty kilometers from the base.

"Let's see if there are any bombs or similar items for sale." Yang Bo carefully reviewed the lake's data. Although the Mecha could fight underwater, why would he play by the rules?

"Or maybe I can craft some deadly poison?" If starting a fire was an option, why not poisoning? Although he had been warned about the fire this time, the harvest had been massive. Besides, the game officials hadn't explicitly banned it anyway.
