Aside from Tiger-faced King, another group of people was also keeping an eye on Yang Bo—the personnel at the base. They were intensely curious. Yang Bo seemed to be acting completely recklessly, yet he had managed to rake in hundreds of thousands of Credit Points in just a few days. They wondered if he was really just messing around.
Therefore, Yang Bo had no idea that someone was watching him from tens of thousands of kilometers above. Of course, from Yang Bo's perspective, the sky was always a vast expanse of white. It had been visually processed.
"This trash game company. I've spent an entire hour just traveling," Yang Bo complained as he hurried along.
If the game developers heard him, they would probably roll their eyes. There were plenty of Flying add-on modules available in the game store. Whose fault was it that he didn't buy them?
But Yang Bo genuinely refused to buy anything. Even in his past life, he had always preferred to play games for free. To hell with the game store! Well, to be fair, he was also just broke.
This time, Yang Bo brought four Shock Wave Bombs and a Miniature Hydrogen Bomb. He hung two on his Mecha's chest, two on its thighs, and one on its arm.
The Miniature Hydrogen Bomb produced an Energy Shock Wave, while the Shock Wave Bombs did not. The Shock Wave Bombs were meant for confined spaces, whereas the Miniature Hydrogen Bomb was best suited for the open outdoors.
Yang Bo's gait was rather strange. The reason was simple: whenever he saw a small animal on his radar, he would immediately stomp on it...
Dynamic Field of View +1!
Dynamic Field of View +1!
Yang Bo had already experienced the benefits of the Dynamic Field of View. During Fighting training, it allowed him to rapidly calculate his opponent's attack speed, distance, and other factors, forming a complex movement trajectory in his mind. It worked much like an interception system, telling him what to intercept first, what to intercept later, and what posed the greatest danger.
Elsewhere, Blood Bat was leading his three subordinates through the towering mountains and steep ridges. The four of them wore tight-fitting armor similar to Iron Man's suits.
The difference was that their armor completely blended in with their surroundings. When they were in a green environment, the armor turned green; when surrounded by rocks, it mimicked the exact color and texture of the stone. Judging from their silhouettes, one of the four was a woman, while the rest were men. Their faces were obscured, but they were all exceptionally tall.
They moved with graceful agility and blinding speed, sticking to ravines filled with trees and dense shrubs. It almost looked as if they were using Qinggong to glide through the terrain.
"We're finally here." They arrived at a cliff overlooking the plains below. Staring at the border between the mountains and the plains about a kilometer away, one of them broke the silence.
"Sir, give the order."
"No rush," Blood Bat replied with absolute confidence. "Since our target has ventured out, he must be here for the Mutant Creatures. We can wait until the bastard engages the creatures in combat before making our move. It won't be too late."
"Sir, do you think this scumbag is trying to take down the Shadow Mouse?" another person asked.
"Definitely," Blood Bat nodded. "According to our intel, the Federation folks even rated this Shadow Mouse as a D-level Mutant Creature. Those people are far too rigid. The Shadow Mouse's stealth capabilities are on par with an A-level creature, even if its actual combat power isn't particularly high."
"Sir, the target is still fifty kilometers away from us," the woman in the squad said, her voice slightly hoarse.
"I'll assign the tasks. We must blow this scumbag's Mecha to pieces. I'll act as the main vanguard and cut off his retreat. You three..." Blood Bat proceeded to issue a series of orders.
"Yes, sir!" The group split up to execute the plan.
Yang Bo was left speechless as he surveyed the terrain before him. On one side was a vast grassland, but the wild grass here was exceptionally tall—his scans indicated it reached ten meters in height. On the other side stood a mountain ridge scarred by massive vertical fissures, some of which showed clear signs of artificial destruction.
"Finding a mouse in this place? Forget a mouse, you couldn't even find a tiger in here," Yang Bo muttered. He had only stopped by to take a look on his way. His true destination was a cave system tens of kilometers behind the mountain ridge, which was swarming with bats.
After a brief glance, Yang Bo made a sharp turn and headed straight up the mountain.
This sudden change in direction completely baffled Blood Bat and his squad. They were ambushing him from a considerable distance because Yang Bo's Mecha was equipped with radar. In such an open area, if they exposed their positions, they would instantly be targeted by the Federation Government Army's space weapons.
"This scumbag..." Blood Bat cursed in confusion. Since the Government Army controlled the airspace, his team's communication was severely restricted. By the time he received updates on Yang Bo's movements, ten minutes had already passed.
Activating his Rocket Backpack, Yang Bo bounded across the peaks, leaping from one mountaintop to the next. In less than five minutes, he arrived at his destination.
"The Mecha's radar is useless here," Yang Bo realized upon arrival. The mountainside was riddled with crevices and caves of all sizes, but the radar's limited penetration depth meant it couldn't scan far inside.
Soon, a bizarre, chaotic noise reached his ears. This was the power of Yang Bo's Sound Wave Control. Although the Mecha couldn't detect anything, the sound waves it picked up were still transmitted to Yang Bo, albeit less steadily and less clearly.
He selected a relatively small cave—small by the standards of a Mecha, that is, though it was still five or six meters wide. The cave angled downwards. He pulled out a Shock Wave Bomb, adjusted the timer, and tossed it inside.
Yang Bo stepped away from the entrance. Ten seconds later, a BOOM echoed from the depths. A cloud of black dust erupted from the mouth of the cave.
Sound Wave Control +1!
Sound Wave Control +1!
A dense cluster of notifications flooded his mind.
"Crap," Yang Bo muttered a second later. He realized that the bats in the surrounding caves had been startled and were now screeching and swarming out.
There was no time to hesitate. He quickly picked out a few of the loudest caves and hurled the rest of his Shock Wave Bombs inside, one by one.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The consecutive explosions shook the entire mountain, causing loose rocks to tumble down the slopes. Tens of thousands of bats were flushed out from the remaining caves by the shockwaves. However, out in the broad daylight, they fluttered around erratically like headless flies.
Yang Bo checked his Sound Wave Control Skill. It had reached Master (9,750/10,000).
"Just a little bit more," he thought. He glanced at his last remaining Miniature Hydrogen Bomb, then looked at the bats continuing to stream out of the caves and settling everywhere. A nearby valley seemed to have the highest concentration of them.
Meanwhile, Blood Bat and his three subordinates finally spotted Yang Bo's Mecha standing idle on the opposite mountain.
"Move out," Blood Bat ordered in a low voice. The four of them launched themselves into the air, swooping toward Yang Bo. Their Biological Mechas' Disguise was absolutely flawless, rendering them virtually invisible.
But just as they dove in—right as they crossed the airspace between the two mountains—a deafening BOOM erupted from the valley below.
A massive shockwave blasted upwards, carrying countless pieces of debris with it. The four assassins were violently blasted into the sky, as if they had been struck by an invisible pneumatic hammer.
Yang Bo had just tossed his Miniature Hydrogen Bomb into the densest cluster of bats and quickly retreated to a safe distance to admire his handiwork.
"Holy shit!" Yang Bo exclaimed. He hadn't expected that the moment the Hydrogen Bomb detonated, four figures resembling miniature Mechas would suddenly materialize in the sky. The Mechas flickered with a kaleidoscope of lights, as if draped in rainbows, right before they were sent hurtling upwards by the immense blast.
"Scumbag!" Blood Bat roared. They had never anticipated that Yang Bo would be carrying a Hydrogen Bomb. Since they had been soaring through the air without paying attention to the ground beneath them, the blast had caught them completely off guard. Furthermore, the Energy Shock Wave accompanying the Hydrogen Bomb caused their Biological Mechas' Disguise to malfunction, immediately exposing their positions. Snapping out of their daze, Blood Bat and his team erupted with Energy to break free from the shockwave. The four figures became a blur of afterimages as they slashed toward Yang Bo.
The moment Yang Bo saw the silhouettes, he instantly fired up his Rocket Backpack, launched himself into the air, and bolted!
But just as he took flight, Blood Bat's squad executed an elegant mid-air turn. Wielding several bizarrely shaped longblades, they slashed at Yang Bo with blinding speed.
Right at that critical moment, a blinding orb of light descended from the vast, white sky. And then, the virtual screen on Yang Bo's end went black once again.
