All the villages they passed afterward flew blood-red War Axe banners, and only half an hour later, when they reached their destination, did something finally look different.
The small town occupied by the Lake God, or rather... a fishing village? It wasn't very large.
This was a white-wood village half built over the water, all of its houses constructed from an off‑white kind of timber.
It had quite an exotic feel to it.
Beside the village lay a lake more than a dozen kilometers across, its surface area quite considerable.
The water was about two meters deep; fish could be seen leaping on the surface, and many rafts and small boats were drawn up along the shore.
Clearly, this place had plenty of resources.
Places like this had always been hubs where people gathered; as long as floods didn't occur frequently, it could easily grow into a Great City in the future.
For now, however, it wasn't very big.
