Chapter 28 - Chapter 3: Absolute Order System

"Be careful. You're lucky the accident only resulted in a broken arm."

"You can leave today, but you'll need to come back in a month to have the cast removed."

The doctor warned me in a cold tone as he discharged me. His icy voice made me swallow nervously. He was definitely intimidating.

"Sis, come on. Let's go—Mom is waiting."

I heard my little brother's sweet voice and couldn't stop a faint smile from forming on my lips.

"Of course, sweetheart. Let's go."

This world wasn't my world.

I had died and been reincarnated into another world. And the world I reincarnated into… was none other than TFOAL, the novel I had read the most.

'Dokhee, why is your wish happening to me?!'

I cursed my best friend inwardly.

Putting that aside, I was no longer Emma; I was Page Blackwell, a 14-year-old high school girl.

The black-haired boy standing beside me was my younger brother, Kieran Blackwell.

Having a little brother wasn't all that bad.

I had learned all of this—Page's memories included—through a transparent screen… I guess I should call it the Absolute Order System, or A.O.S. But for some reason, that name makes me uneasy.

According to the information A.O.S provided, I was now Page Blackwell, a student preparing to enter Zukunft Arcanum Academy.

My parents were veterans who earned their titles during the 3rd Great Vampire War. Because of that, our family had state support and protection.

That eased me a little. The TFOAL universe was cruel—like most novels—and I would definitely have enemies here. At least I didn't have to worry about my family… not in the short term.

"Page! Do you have any idea how much you scared me?!"

My thoughts were interrupted by four warm arms and a loud voice.

The voice carried a firm tone but held a trace of affection within it. It belonged to Gawain Blackwell—my father.

"Page, if you had listened to me, none of this would have happened, my dear girl."

The voice trying hard to sound upset was Lyra Blackwell's—my mother's.

My father had the same black hair and blue eyes as my brother. And my mother… was no different.

They both had cold black hair and ocean-deep blue eyes.

I realized then just how handsome my father was, and how beautiful my mother was as well… In my previous world, they could have easily been actors or something similar.

"Sweetheart… are you alright?"

My mother asked anxiously as she tried to check my temperature with her hand.

"I'm fine, Mom… honestly. I'm just a little tired. You know how our bodies use more energy when healing."

"Of course we know, dear. We're just worried. Try to understand us."

My father stroked my hair gently, trying to comfort me.

With a warm smile, I leaned against his chest. He truly made people feel safe.

"Alright then, let's go home. My sister needs to rest."

"Okay, Kez. Let's go."

My younger brother and mother began leading the way home, while I walked with my father's arm wrapped around me.

I really missed being a little girl…

Would the real Page be happy if she were still alive?

Would she have survived without me?

Would she…

"Page, are you alright?"

"Huh—?"

I flinched suddenly. I had drifted into deep thought again, and my father had noticed.

He looked me over carefully and sighed.

"If something is bothering you too much, you can always come to me, Page. I'd go against the whole world for my daughter."

His words hit me right in the heart. For a moment, I found myself envying the real Page—but at the same time, I was genuinely happy for her.

"Don't worry, Dad. If anyone ever tries to hit on me, you'll be the first to know."

I teased him lightly, making him laugh and easing the mood.

We chatted as a family all the way home.

When we arrived, I asked for permission to rest for a while and went to my room.

"…System, open."

Minority? Seriously? I guess the real Page was pretty lucky.

Whatever—my stats look good enough.

According to TFOAL, I was fairly close to being considered a genius in this world, but my physical strength was terrible.

If only it were something I could improve, I would have dedicated myself completely.

Wait—the system gave me gifts earlier.
