Chapter 166 - Chapter 158: A Pataphysical Entity That Crushes Level-5 Reality Benders!

Leo Murphy?

A detective from a detective novel?

When the livestream audience heard this, the entire chat fell into stunned disbelief.

The concept of a pataphysical entity alone was already beyond anything they had imagined.

A character from a novel…

Appearing in reality…

And murdering the author?

It sounded impossible, absurd, and terrifying.

Yet mixed with this shock was an unprecedented surge of curiosity.

Who exactly is this Leo Murphy?

---

The screen dimmed, then slowly brightened again.

When Leon Lake appeared, he was already standing inside an unfamiliar department.

A middle-aged man approached him.

> "Welcome to the Pataphysics Department,"

the man said.

"I'm August, Site Director of Site-95.

The head of the department, Dr. Penelope Panagiotopolous, is currently occupied with Operation Hyperdimensional, so she couldn't be here to greet you."

August was short, bald, with sharply cut features.

His black uniform was so stylish that he looked less like a Site Director and more like the owner of a high-end underground bar.

Leon shook his hand.

> "Sorry—did you say Hyperdimensional Operation?"

August smiled as he led Leon deeper inside.

> "Yes. It's a new initiative run by the Pataphysics Department."

As they walked, he explained:

> "Through research on SCP-1304 and observations of SCP-2916-1 and SCP-2747, our researchers concluded that lower-layer narrative entities can interfere with—and even escape into—higher narrative layers."

Leon wasn't surprised.

O5-10 had already told him the basics.

> "Using SCP-826, we developed the Kuzco-Bueller Procedure, a method of extracting fictional entities and bringing them into our reality."

Leon paused mid-step.

The livestream went wild.

> "WTF? They can bring fictional characters into reality?!"

"Bro my anime waifu is finally coming home."

"This is literally second-dimensional ascension!"

"Pataphysics is OP!"

"I WANT ONE."

---

S.H.I.E.L.D.

While the audience was ecstatic, Nick Fury's expression turned pitch black.

This was not good.

Not good at all.

Unpredictable.

Uncontrollable.

Unstable.

Everything he hated.

> "Hyperdimensional Operation…"

he muttered, dread forming in his chest.

---

August continued:

> "Our goal is to use this process to build a task force composed of extra-narrative entities.

Agents from our world will operate within a new controlled narrative plane, one capable of interacting with others without destabilizing ours."

He smiled.

> "In simple terms: we're creating a setting."

Leon narrowed his eyes.

Even he didn't expect that.

The livestream exploded again.

> "No way—an MTF made of fictional beings?!"

"They're fighting pataphysics WITH pataphysics!"

"This is galaxy-brain level strategy."

"Foundation R&D is insane."

---

> "How far along is the plan?"

Leon asked.

> "Promising,"

August replied.

"We already have several candidates."

Before he finished, they arrived at an office.

Two coffees were set on the table.

August took a sip and sighed pleasantly.

> "You're a specially invited doctor sent by the Overseer.

Your achievements so far are… intimidating.

With you here, I'm confident we can finally make progress on SCP-3143."

Leon ignored the flattery.

> "Let's get to the point. SCP-3143."

> "Right, of course."

August handed him a file.

Leon glanced at it—

—and froze.

This wasn't a report.

It was a script.

August watched his reaction carefully.

Pataphysics personnel clearly weren't impressed by Leon's containment of a Supreme Deity.

To them, the Stag—SCP-2845—was simple.

A physical god.

Understandable. Killable.

Pataphysical entities were different.

You couldn't fight them physically.

You couldn't outthink them normally.

They lived in narrative layers.

How do you fight a character in a book?

Leon opened the file.

Only then did August's smile become more genuine.

At least Leon understood the nature of this enemy.

---

> "SCP-3143 was discovered after a containment breach at Site-95 in 2005,"

August explained.

"But what actually happened during the breach…

even now, we still don't fully understand."

He rubbed his temples, remembering.

> "That day, our systems detected unauthorized tampering in the internal database.

Two minutes later, every single staff member—myself included—collapsed unconscious."

> "For three hours.

All cameras went dark."

Leon set down the file, sipped his coffee, and waited.

August continued:

> "When we woke up, everyone had severe migraines.

The entire site smelled like cheap cigarettes and cheaper liquor.

Two guards were injured.

Three bullets were lodged in my desk.

And someone had shot SCP-3043."

The room fell silent.

And then—

The screen cut to black.

SCP-3143 was just getting started.
