I'm at the dining table adding some finishing touches to dinner. It's been over a week or so since Kael asked me to be his pretend girlfriend, and things have been going so far.
In that moment, I hear the front door creak open, the sound of expensive shoes hitting the floor as Kael.
"Ah he's back," I mutter.
Kael's shadow falls on me, blocking my view of the light, "Welcome home."
"Thanks," he plops on one of the chairs, his head falling back.
"You must be really tired," I hand him a glass of water, "Go have a bath, then come back down and have dinner."
He holds his head, "Are you doing this so I can owe you or something?" He straightens himself, looking at me with those deliciously sharp eyes.
"What does that mean?" my hands freeze in the air.
"I mean, you've been cooking everyday since we became a fake couple. It's making me so guilty, and making me wonder why you're doing it."
