Chapter 78 - Dragon Ball -76

Hours passed, and by six in the evening, Peter finally showed up, carrying an exhausted Stussy who could barely lean on his shoulder.

"I'm starving to death! Nojiko, bring us something to eat—anything."

Raising her eyebrows, Nojiko prepared some of Peter's favorite dishes.

While waiting for the food, Peter introduced Stussy to the rest of the girls. When they learned she was an agent of CP0, the shock was so great that Carina and Mikita nearly jumped from their seats. Robin and Hina exchanged looks full of surprise and caution, while Stussy was nearly drained of energy.

But when Peter revealed her other identity—that she was actually a spy for Vegapunk—the hostility in the room eased slightly, though they still found it unbelievable that Vegapunk had managed to plant an agent deep inside the government, even within CP0.

Nami approached curiously and asked:

"Just her? I heard from Zala that there were three beauties. Where are the other two?"

Peter smiled.

"They're sisters. The older one is Kalifa, and the younger is Alpha. Unlike Stussy, they really are government agents—the first in CP9 and the second in CP8. Right now, they're in the cells. I've made some… adjustments to them."

The girls instantly shot him looks of disgust.

Nami: "Gross!"

Carina: "Pervert!"

Hina: "Beast!"

Even Kaya blushed and lowered her head silently.

Peter protested loudly:

"Hey, wait! I didn't lock them up to satisfy perverted hobbies! They're CP agents!"

But no matter how he tried to explain, none of them believed him.

The food finally arrived, and Peter began devouring it ravenously. Hungry as she was, Stussy followed suit, until only the sound of clattering utensils filled the restaurant.

Robin, watching with a faint smile, picked up a newspaper and began reading:

"Main headline: Yesterday in the Drum Kingdom… a battle broke out between the Second Division Commander of the Whitebeard Pirates, Fire Fist Ace, and the traitorous pirate who killed his crewmates, Marshall D. Teach—Blackbeard."

Peter suddenly interrupted in shock:

"Wait, did you say… Drum Kingdom?!"

Robin nodded. "Yes, what about it?"

Peter smirked slyly.

"Nothing… just surprised it's so close."

Robin continued:

"The battle ended with Blackbeard's victory, while Ace was defeated and captured. His fate is currently unknown. It's expected that Whitebeard, the strongest man in the world, won't remain silent about this…"

Peter slammed the table with excitement.

"Here we go! If Blackbeard is moving according to what I know… then the Summit War isn't far off! Excellent… I can't wait to take part in the chaos!"

After a huge meal, Peter sat chatting with the girls. Suddenly he remembered:

"By the way, Nami, any news about that Straw Hat kid? I haven't seen a single report on him since we left the East Blue."

Nami shook her head.

"Nothing at all… the papers don't mention him."

Peter laughed bitterly.

"Hah… could it be he couldn't even make it out of the East Blue?"

Nami hesitated.

"I… I don't think so, but still… I'm not sure."

Peter took a deep breath.

"Listen… that boy isn't ordinary. His full name is Monkey D. Luffy. His grandfather is the legendary Marine hero, Garp the Fist. And his father is no less—he's the founder of the Revolutionary Army and the world's most dangerous criminal, Monkey D. Dragon!

His first mentor was one of the current Four Emperors, Red-Haired Shanks. As for the straw hat he wears—it's an inheritance passed down from Roger, to Shanks, and now to Luffy.

Not to mention his brothers: Ace, Whitebeard's Second Division Commander, and Sabo, Chief of Staff of the Revolutionary Army.

In short, that boy has backing stronger than anyone else's. Marines, pirates, revolutionaries—they're all tied to him. Who would dare lay a hand on him?"

The room fell silent until Nami muttered in awe:

"I never imagined he had such a background…"

Mikita sneered.

"With support like that, even if he does nothing, everyone will push him to become the Pirate King."

Stussy chuckled softly.

"With that background, I'd say he's the second most powerful person after the Celestial Dragons."

The girls all replied in unison:

"Definitely."

Hina clutched her head in despair.

"This world is rotten… either perverts or people from great families."

She left in frustration.

Meanwhile, Carina, Nami, Mikita, and Nojiko exchanged weary looks.

"So all of you are daughters of great families… and we're the only commoners?!"

Robin and Kaya: "…"

The next day, Peter sent Stussy to check on the sisters in their cell. The moment Alpha saw her, she shouted angrily:

"Traitor! How dare you show your face to me?!"

Stussy smiled coldly, raising her hands in surrender, then showed her wristband and said:

"Believe me… everything I did was to save you. If I hadn't, would you even be standing here cursing me now?"

Alpha froze for a moment, unable to respond. Stussy smirked inwardly and prepared to weave her web of manipulation…

Looking directly into Alpha's eyes, Stussy said softly:

"Look… true, you're imprisoned and stripped of freedom, but you still have a chance to live.

As for me, though I can move freely outside this cell, I've lost my power, and even my body is at his mercy.

If not for what I gave these past nights… you would have already been consumed, with no choice left.

So instead of blaming me, you should thank me. I've given you a rare chance to join a man whose power rivals that of an Emperor."

Alpha hesitated, her face pale.

"Really? Why does it sound like you're brainwashing me?"

Stussy only shrugged with feigned pity.

"Believe it or not, that's your choice. But remember… life isn't lived twice.

Will you keep serving the World Government, becoming a pawn in his hands, only to be discarded and punished in the end?

Or will you choose to join him, work a little harder at night… but ensure survival, maybe even live in luxury the rest of your days? The choice is yours."

She stepped closer, handed Alpha a plate with just a piece of bread and a cup of water, then patted her shoulder and whispered:

"Think carefully… do you prefer bread and water? Or steak with a glass of wine?

As for me, I've chosen my path. Whether you follow or not doesn't matter. Out of camaraderie, I only wanted to give advice."

She walked out calmly, and before closing the door, she raised two fingers.

"You've failed twice before… let's hope you don't fail the third time. It's the most important."

The iron door shut with a heavy clang. As the echo of her heels faded, Alpha sat staring at the bread.

Slowly, she picked it up, took a dry but strangely flavored bite, and a chilling thought struck her: If I die now… I won't even have this bite.

Suddenly, she devoured the bread frantically, then rushed to the door, pounding it with her fists and screaming:

"Madam! I've thought it over… I want to live! Open the door! I want to join you!"

Elsewhere, Stussy went to confront Kalifa. She repeated the same persuasion she used on Alpha, but Kalifa was far tougher and more resistant.

She held out for an entire day… then two full days.

But on the third day—the final deadline—she saw the newspaper exposing her identity as a CP agent. Only then did she surrender, accepting Peter's protection.

Thus, the sisters both submitted.

Peter, meanwhile, enjoyed his peculiar sense of victory over them… taking a strange pleasure in it.

But while he drowned in indulgence, the seas around him churned with events.

After Big Mom officially announced her marriage to Mihawk, the underworld was thrown into chaos.

Kings who received invitations moved out of curiosity, while Shanks and his crew—though attending under the guise of offering blessings—were really planning to rescue Mihawk.

Kaido, ever a lover of chaos and spectacle, would never miss the grand show.

Even Sengoku, the Marine Marshal, couldn't help but laugh wryly:

"If it were up to me, I'd go congratulate them myself!"

But the Marines saw it as a golden opportunity. With three Emperors distracted, they decided to focus all their attention on Whitebeard's crew.

Just as Sengoku began drafting his plans, the Blackbeard Pirates appeared before him…

As for Straw Hat Luffy, he had no part in these events.

As Peter predicted… without Nami, the crew barely managed to leave the East Blue.

If not for a stroke of luck—saving a merchant from drowning, who in return helped them enter the Grand Line—they would have remained stuck forever.

But even after entering, they wandered aimlessly, with not a single bounty to their names. Compared to the original story… their situation was utterly miserable.

Back in Alabasta.

After spending five days with her family, Vivi returned to Rainbase.

"Princess Vivi, please take care of yourself. Remember to keep in touch with His Majesty… and if any of his other women try to bully you, use what I taught you to put them in their place. Don't let anyone look down on you…!"

Igaram was still chattering endlessly. Vivi laughed awkwardly and cut him off:

"Enough, enough, don't worry so much. Everyone treats me well, and Peter takes care of me more than you can imagine. I'll head in now—send my regards to Father."

She hurried into Rain Dinners, with her duck companion Caroo flapping his wings happily.

Igaram tried to follow, but the guards blocked him sternly.

"Where do you think you're going?! This is the Master's place. Don't take another step."

"Wait! I… I'm the princess's guardian!"

"Enough excuses. Come with us to the cells. Resist if you dare."

Realizing he was powerless, Igaram didn't dare cause trouble at Peter's door.

Inside, Vivi cheerfully led Caroo toward the underground leisure hall.

What was once Crocodile's meeting room had now become a recreation lounge, complete with a billiards table, a small bar, and colorful fish tanks replacing the menacing crocodiles.

Vivi skipped playfully into the entrance.

"I'm back! Did you miss me?!"

But she was surprised to find the room completely empty.

Caroo tilted his head in confusion, letting out a soft "Quah."

Just then, her Den Den Mushi rang—it was Robin.

"Vivi… come to the back door. We're all there."

When she arrived, she found everyone gathered around Peter, deep in serious discussion.

Nami called out to her at once:

"Vivi! You came at the perfect time, come quick!"

Vivi walked closer with small steps and saw three women she didn't recognize. Smiling, she introduced:

"This is my friend Caroo… I brought him with me this time."

Caroo flapped his wings politely in greeting, but Nami barely glanced at him before placing a yellow orb with three red stars into Vivi's hands.

"Look at this first!"

Vivi gazed at it in wonder.

"It's beautiful… perfect as a decoration or keepsake."

Nami smiled mysteriously.

"This isn't just a ball… it's a Dragon Ball. If we gather seven of them, we can summon a dragon who grants any wish!"

Carina interrupted with a mischievous grin.

"Enough with the theatrics, we're all waiting for Peter to explain, not to watch you make things up."

Within moments, their bickering turned into a side quarrel, as usual.

Vivi, meanwhile, kept staring at the orb, half in disbelief.

"Really? Just a ball that grants wishes? Sounds like one of those children's legends…"

Then Nojiko tossed another orb into the air—this one with seven stars—and said with a smile:

"Believe me… It's far more real than you think."
