Chapter 311 - Final Life II, The One and Only Gift

"Eula, a group of Hilichurl are heading your way!" a knight shouted while clashing with a Blazing Axe Mitachurl.

"So many…?"

Seeing the mass of Hilichurl rushing toward her, Eula's brows tightened. She was already holding off three Ruin Guards, and now even more Hilichurl were coming at her—she could barely keep up.

"Eula, hold them off for a bit! We'll finish up here soon!"

The knights not far away were fighting desperately to clear the monsters blocking them.

During Eula's brief distraction, the Ruin Guards raised their massive fists to smash her. But Eula was nimble—she leapt back and dodged cleanly.

Meanwhile, Hilichurl Shooters—each holding crossbows infused with different elements—took aim at her.

Without hesitation, Eula pulled out a delicate bone whistle, no bigger than a pinky, and placed it between her lips.

A moment later, the thunderous roar of crashing waves erupted.

With eyes closed, the sound felt exactly like a true tsunami—towering waves ready to swallow the world whole.

The moment it rang out, every Hilichurl froze.

The bolts they were about to release halted.

Eula continued blowing the whistle while weaving between the Ruin Guards' attacks.

The incredibly lifelike tsunami sound filled every Hilichurl with instinctive terror.

Soon, the ordinary, low-intelligence Hilichurl fled in panic.

Some of the more aware ones stepped back slowly, trembling as they scanned the surroundings in fear.

Just the bone whistle alone had completely stopped the charging horde.

"That trick again? It's almost too effective."

The knights had also heard the tsunami sound.

"Eula has turned countless battles around with that move—snatching victory from the jaws of defeat."

"How does she even make that sound? I've heard it at least a hundred times, and it still blows my mind. It's so real!"

"I want a bone whistle like that. It's literally a lifesaver in a pinch."

"Hurry! Once we finish here, we need to back her up! Eula's holding off that whole wave of Hilichurl by herself!"

While the knights rushed to finish their battles, Eula used her unique Favonius Sword technique to strike down a Ruin Guard.

She moved like a graceful dancer, wielding her greatsword in both hands as she flowed between two Ruin Guards.

But beneath that elegance was deadly precision.

The artistic essence of dance—the rhythm, the beauty, the indescribable flow—was woven into her swordplay.

This was the unique sword technique Elliot had taught her, adapted from Eula's beloved "Ritual Dance."

Her movements were refined and ethereal, like a dancer under the moon—distant, perfect, untouchable.

"Eula, we're here to—"

The knights rushed over—only to freeze.

Every monster had already been slain by Eula alone.

She stood amid the pile of corpses as the sound of waves faded into silence.

"Leaving me to deal with so many monsters alone? I'll remember this," Eula said as she turned around.

Hearing her words, the knights all smiled.

The first time they heard Eula say that, they were terrified.

Now, they knew it was just her way of speaking.

"Another day saved thanks to Eula. Having you around makes everything feel so reliable."

"Since Eula joined us, the Knights' efficiency has skyrocketed. We used to have casualties during extermination missions, but now even injuries are rare."

"Eula, where did you get that bone whistle? It's ridiculously powerful."

"Yeah! I've had people make bone whistles for me before, but none of them were anything like yours—so rich and mellow, yet soft."

Eula slowly took out the bone whistle and looked at it with a gentle smile.

"This was a gift from my teacher. A one-of-a-kind treasure in the world."

When Eula first saw the whistle, she'd been stunned.

She never imagined that just casually mentioning she liked the sound of waves would make Elliot go out of his way to create a whistle capable of mimicking ocean waves.

And in the process of getting it… Elliot had been battered head to toe.

Thinking of that, Eula fell silent for a moment, as if she could see Elliot's face reflected in the whistle.

At that moment, she felt a warm, familiar presence on her head.

Startled, she instinctively looked up.

Elliot was gently stroking her hair, staring at her with wide eyes.

"Eula…?"

He looked into her eyes, almost wondering if she could actually see him.

But she couldn't.

Eula glanced at the empty space beside her, then looked back at the bone whistle and tightened her grip slightly.

"What is it, Eula? Did you see something?"

Her strange behavior left the knights confused.

"No, it's nothing."

She put the precious whistle away again and smiled softly.

"So… you still can't see me…"

Elliot wasn't surprised—but he couldn't help feeling a little disappointed, though he didn't know why.

"Let's head back," one of the knights said.

"Mhm." Eula responded immediately.

As she walked, she instinctively turned back toward the empty, open ground.

"How strange…"

"Why does that place feel warm… and familiar?" Eula murmured.

Seeing her look back again, Elliot—no longer disappointed—smiled once more.

The knights cleaned the battlefield, then returned to Mondstadt.

After a day of traveling through mountains and rivers, they finally reached the city.

They reported the mission to Jean and were dismissed to rest.

"Eula, stay for a moment."

Eula, about to leave, paused as Jean called out to her.

"What is it?" she asked.

"You'll know soon. Just wait a bit," Jean said mysteriously.

Before long, Amber returned with a group of knights.

Seeing each other, Eula and Amber ran forward with bright smiles and embraced happily.

The knights who had accompanied Amber reported her outstanding performance. After praising her, Jean formally announced Eula's appointment as the "Wave Knight."

After the celebration, Amber and Eula walked hand in hand toward Liyue.

...

As soon as they arrived at Liyue Harbor, the statue of Elliot came into view.

"Teacher…"

Both Eula and Amber paused, gazing at the statue for a moment before sharing a quiet smile and walking closer.

At the base of Elliot's statue, Amber took out Baron Bunny and began recounting everything that had happened over the past few years.

"Teacher, we've come back to see you…"

"Eula remembers how you loved watching my Dance of Sacrifice."

"Now, Eula will perform it for you. You must watch closely…"

Bathed in moonlight, Eula danced—graceful, elegant, classical, breathtakingly beautiful.

Sitting beside Amber, Elliot watched the elegant dancer with a warm, blissful smile.

But before Amber could finish speaking, before Eula's dance could be fully enjoyed—

His already invisible, ethereal form slowly faded away.

Amber abruptly stopped mid-sentence.

Eula gradually halted her dance.

It felt as though something irreplaceably important… had vanished completely.
