Chapter 310 - Final Life II, Summoning Courage, Giving It Our All

"Today's successful breakout and mission completion are all thanks to our Little Amber."

"That's right. If Little Amber hadn't drawn off those seven Mitachurls, we would've been in real danger."

"Little Amber has truly grown up. We underestimated you before. We never imagined someone so young could have such courage and strength."

"Little Amber really gave us a huge surprise. If she hadn't come along on this mission, who knows what would've happened."

After the eradication was complete, the veteran knights gathered around Amber, showering her with praise without holding anything back.

Amber's performance had genuinely astonished them. For a girl barely in her teens, simply not crying at the sight of giant Mitachurls would have already been impressive. Yet she had faced them head-on—completely unafraid—and even lured away the seven strongest ones by herself.

Amber's face was bright red as she stared at the ground, unable to meet their eyes. She rarely received this much praise, especially from the elder knights, leaving her flustered and overwhelmed.

"No… no… it was just luck… I'm really not as amazing as you say…"

"I didn't do anything… it was everyone's hard fighting that got us the victory… I really didn't do much…"

Amber kept insisting, cheeks burning. She truly didn't feel she had contributed nearly as much as they claimed and felt she didn't deserve such high praise.

Hearing that, the knights exchanged glances before smiling at the same time.

"Little Amber, let me ask you—what made you decide to do that just now? Weren't you afraid of the danger?" a burly, bearded middle-aged knight asked curiously.

"Of course I was scared. They're huge… I knew getting hit even once would be terrible," Amber replied.

"Then why did you still go?" another knight asked.

"Because… I felt… I should do something. Since I was already out here, I wanted to contribute as much as I could within my own abilities. I just needed to muster my courage and give it my all. That's what I thought…"

Her words left the knights stunned. They stared at her wide-eyed, hardly able to believe such a simple, resolute statement had come from this little girl.

"Muster your courage… give it your all."

That phrase engraved itself into each of their hearts.

In the silence that followed, several knights lowered their heads in shame. Clearly, they hadn't been able to do what she had. Feeling ashamed in front of a child with more resolve than them was only natural.

The others understood what those downcast knights were thinking—but they did not call them out. Amber had already taught them a valuable lesson. They surely wouldn't repeat the same mistake again.

"Little Amber, did you ever think about what would happen if you failed and got grabbed by those Mitachurls?" the middle-aged knight continued.

Amber shook her head without hesitation. "No."

"No!?"

Her answer made everyone jolt. She hadn't even thought about it? She had rushed into a life-and-death situation without a second thought?

Wasn't that… far too reckless?

What if something had gone wrong?

"Yes." Amber nodded sincerely, seeing nothing strange about it.

"Why didn't you think about it? You knew getting caught would be terrible. If you knew that and still acted, shouldn't you have had a plan?"

"I won't be caught," Amber said earnestly.

Her firm response and unwavering confidence left the others completely baffled.

"Why are you so certain?" the knight pressed.

"Because I know they can't catch me."

Only then did the knights understand—Amber had acted purely out of confidence in her own abilities and an extraordinary level of courage.

Although she had performed exceptionally well, the knights also understood this wasn't entirely ideal. Confidence wasn't bad—but vigilance wasn't bad either. No one could guarantee that unexpected situations wouldn't happen.

Just like today—they never expected the Hilichurl camp to hide so many additional monsters.

After packing up their spoils, the group returned to Mondstadt in high spirits.

As soon as they arrived at the Knights headquarters, Amber spotted Eula returning from her own mission. She immediately ran toward her in excitement.

Eula turned with a warm smile and jogged over as well, and the two embraced joyfully.

"Everyone's back. How did the mission go?" Jean asked with a gentle smile.

"We did extremely well this time. Little Amber gave us a huge surprise—she single-handedly held off a large group of monsters."

"That's right! I've never seen such a brave youngster. No wonder she's Elliot's granddaughter."

"Exactly. With that kind of courage at her age, she'll definitely grow into an even more impressive Reconnaissance Knight than Elliot himself!"

The veteran knights who had gone on the mission couldn't stop praising her, grinning from ear to ear.

Hearing their applause, Jean was visibly surprised. She hadn't expected such an outstanding result from Amber's very first mission.

Once the elder knights finished recounting what had happened, both Jean and Eula looked genuinely delighted.

"Amber, I knew you were far stronger than I imagined!" Eula said, moved.

"I never thought Amber would be this exceptional. It's my fault for not seeing it sooner—if I'd approved your field mission requests earlier, I wouldn't regret it now. With you, those missions would definitely turn out even better!" Jean added, showing her genuine admiration.

Their praise turned Amber's face crimson. She lowered her head shyly, happily fidgeting with her fingers.

After the rounds of praise, Jean finally turned to Eula.

"The main purpose of today's meeting is to announce something," Jean said slowly after scanning the room.

Everyone immediately straightened up and focused, knowing this was official business.

"I hereby formally announce that Eula Lawrence is appointed Captain of the Guerrilla Squad, and is hereby bestowed the title of Wave Knight!"

"Yes!!! Eula, you're the Captain of the Guerrilla Squad now!"

As soon as Jean finished speaking, the crowd froze in astonishment—except for Amber, who jumped up in excitement and grabbed Eula's hand.

"A higher position means access to more classified information. As an infiltrator, I can carry out my revenge even better," Eula said, smiling faintly.

"Hehe, makes sense."

Amber, fully understanding Eula's "revenge," wholeheartedly agreed. After all, she was an accomplice herself.

The Knights held a celebration that lasted late into the night.

Eula and Amber, however, slipped away early. The older knights continued drinking and singing in high spirits. Jean quietly watched as the two walked off together, laughing.

"Elliot… how did you raise such exceptional children…"

"Without you, there wouldn't be the Knights of Favonius as they are today, nor the peaceful and free Mondstadt we know."

"You saved your homeland Liyue with your own hands, and entrusted your spirit to Mondstadt."

"To save two cities single-handedly…"

"Only you could have done it."

Hearing Jean's words, Elliot simply smiled silently as he watched Amber and Eula leave.

"It's not that I taught them well… they were exceptional to begin with."

After speaking, he left Mondstadt as well, following Amber and Eula all the way to Liyue Harbor.

Amber and Eula walked straight toward a massive statue overlooking the harbor.

The statue depicted Elliot wielding a blade mid-strike, carved so vividly and lifelike that it radiated an overwhelming sense of security.

"Grandpa, I activated a Vision too! Isn't that amazing?"

Standing beneath Elliot's statue, Amber held her Baron Bunny, gazing up at the full moon above. As if returning home, she whispered softly to herself.

"I saw it, Little Amber. You truly are incredible—activating a Vision at such a young age. You're my granddaughter, through and through." Elliot sat beside her, gently resting a hand on her head.

"Grandpa, I won the flight championship again this year! Hehe, that makes three in a row!"

"I believe that as long as Little Amber enters, the championship will always be hers."

"Grandpa, today was my first time joining an outdoor monster-suppression mission. The seniors all praised me for doing great."

"You did wonderfully today. Little Amber is truly brave. Grandpa is proud of you."

Holding her Baron Bunny, Amber happily shared everything that had happened recently.

Beside her, Eula also reminisced about Elliot in her own quiet way.
