Angela snapped angrily. "Eva has already been missing for more than twenty hours. If her abductors were after money, they would have long called to extort for a ransom. However, there hasn't been any news of Eva yet. Even the police are guessing that she has been abducted because of a personal feud."
Elena glanced at Angela before retorting. "If it's really a personal feud, shouldn't the enemies of her family be greater suspects than me?"
Glowering at her, Angela said, "Quit all that clever talk. The police will investigate and get to the bottom of the truth. Nothing you say will make a difference."
Anna looked up at Elena and said with slight displeasure in her eyes, "Elena, if you've really kidnapped Eva, just admit it! Uncle Stephen is very worried about Eva."
Elena shifted her gaze to Anna and quipped aloofly. "As I said, I didn't kidnap Miss Reeves. Are you deaf? Don't you understand my words?"
Anna's lips quivered slightly and she remained silent.
