Chapter 132 - CHAPTER 132

c132 Goku Returns! Friendly Duel! Super Saiyan 4 vs. Super Saiyan God (Red)

"Idiot! Are you brainless? You're pouring out power just for me to absorb!" Super 17 mocked as he stood with both palms open, the absorption modules in his hands crackling while they swallowed the storm of crimson ki orbs Luya had unleashed.

Luya acted as if he hadn't heard a word. He sent another staccato volley of blasts and then his aura spiked with a sharp, ringing thrum. "Kaiō-ken!!"

BOOM!

His godly red aura thickened and folded over itself, the Kaiō-ken's multiplying waves threading through it. Power surged; the sea below bucked like a living thing.

"What?!" Super 17's eyes narrowed. A bad premonition rode up his spine. He was swimming in stolen power, but his processing core needed precious seconds to stabilize and redistribute what he'd just absorbed and during absorption, his palms had to remain open to feed the reactor. He could not fully guard or move freely.

Luya's voice was cold and precise. "Your greatest strength absorption is your greatest weakness. The more potent the energy, the longer your digestion cycle. And while you digest, your palms must stay open… your defenses lag. For a fighter at our level, a few seconds is enough to decide everything."

As he spoke, Luya's hands had already cupped at his waist, god-ki condensing with startling calm into a tight, azure core nested inside the crimson glow. "Ka—me—ha—me—…"

Goku had once rattled enemies with 10x Kamehameha. Luya's god-ki control stacked atop Kaiō-ken promised something even more surgical and more dangerous to a system not designed for divine output.

"—HA!!!"

The beam roared forward, a pillar of blue-white annihilation wrapped in red flame. Super 17 snarled and did the only thing that could keep him from being erased: he absorbed. The blast smashed into his open palms; the absorption grids screamed.

"Impossible!! Damn it!!" Super 17's voice warped into a metallic howl as arcs of scarlet electricity spider-webbed across his body. He had to keep draining or be obliterated outright but the quality of the energy was wrong. God ki didn't thread into his demonic reactor like normal ki; it gummed the channels, over-pressured the stacks, and fed back into his frame faster than his regulators could vent it.

"Aaaaahhh!!"

His torso swelled; the bio-synthetic skin stretched and split. Wardrobe seams gave first, then armor locks. The island chain shook as his core screamed toward critical. A heartbeat later

KRRAA-THOOOM!

Super 17 detonated.

The blast carved a milky-white dome across the ocean. Rings of force punched outward for miles; reefs vaporized; cliff faces toppled into the sea. In the distant city, Vegeta and the others felt the wall of pressure slam in. With a curse, Vegeta threw up a massive barrier, Gohan and Uub layering their own ki into the shield until the shockwaves passed.

"How can this be…?" Vegeta's eyes narrowed toward the horizon. Even from here he could taste the afterimage of that power. "That wasn't ordinary ki. It was… divine."

The ocean rained back down in curtains. Steam boiled up where superheated air kissed the sea. For long seconds, the battlefield was only hiss and silence.

High above the scar of ocean, Luya hovered, Kaiō-ken easing off his limbs in fading ripples. He let his breathing level and scanned the shattered expanse below.

The sea floor had been scooped into a smoking crater. Super 17's signature such as it was had vanished.

> [Ding! Congratulations to the host for defeating Super No. 17! Mission progress 4/5. Keep up the good work, host!]

Luya exhaled. Task done. Time to

"Wait!"

A bright, familiar voice cut through the steam. Luya turned. Floating across from him, in a small body with wild hair and a tail flicking lazily behind him, was Son Goku—child-sized, the strange side-effect of the Black Star Dragon Balls, but brimming with boundless, unmistakable spirit.

"What is it?" Luya asked, schooling his expression flat.

Goku grinned, scratching his cheek. "Uh… you're the one who beat Super 17, right?"

Luya nodded once. "Yeah. That was me."

"That's amazing! How'd you do it? And you're a Saiyan too, right? You've got a tail like me." Goku's eyes sparkled with curiosity.

"I am," Luya said, the corner of his mouth tilting. "Pure-blooded."

"Great! If you've got a tail and you took down Super 17, then… can you turn Super Saiyan 4 too?" Goku bounced in the air, suddenly excited.

Luya's mouth twitched. "Sorry. Not that form."

Not yet, anyway. Power and training routes mattered and his path had bent toward god.

"How did you beat him, then?" Goku tilted his head. He'd arrived to find half the archipelago missing and only this red-aura Saiyan floating there.

Instead of answering, Luya's aura deepened, the calm crimson mantle sliding over him like a second skin. Divine ki hummed in the air. "Like this."

Goku drifted closer, eyes wide. "Whoa! What is that? A new form?" He circled Luya, peering like a kid in a candy shop. "I can't feel your energy at all!"

"Super Saiyan God," Luya said, just a bit proud. "Different system. Mortal senses can't read it."

"It's awesome," Goku breathed. Then his face lit. "Hey—wanna spar?"

Of course he would. Luya almost laughed. "You don't waste time, do you?"

Goku didn't answer. He simply stepped back in the air and let his joy explode. Power thundered. Scarlet fur bloomed across his arms and torso; black hair lengthened into a wild mane; eyes edged with red shadow snapped open like twin blades. The pressure spiked.

Super Saiyan 4.

Luya's eyes narrowed. He'd anticipated it, but feeling it was different. Even with a child's body, Goku's battle power spiked into a feral, cosmic pitch. "So this is Super 4…"

On the distant ridge, Gohan shaded his eyes. "Dad's ki… he's back!"

Vegeta's jaw set. "Tch. Kakarot." He tasted the other aura again the one that didn't taste like anything. "And that other one… that god scent. Hmph."

In the sky, Goku grinned, fangs flashing. "Well? Pretty cool, right? Even so, I still can't sense your power in that form. That makes this extra exciting!"

"Strong," Luya admitted, giving a thumbs-up despite himself.

"Okay then!" Goku settled into a familiar stance, tail swaying. "Let's go!"

Luya blurred. Goku's pupils pinpricked; he snapped an arm up to parry

BAM!

Luya appeared in front of him and drove a straight punch into his guard, pushing him back—and layered a hail of tight, red-tinged ki bolts after him.

Boom-boom-boom-boom!

Fireballs chewed the sky into a chain of expanding suns. Inside the glare, Goku's silhouette curled in, forearms crossed over his face, letting the barrage wash past.

The light peeled away. Goku lowered his guard, unharmed, eyes bright. "Nice! You're really strong!"

"Testing me?" Luya asked evenly.

Goku chuckled. "Guilty! I like to feel out my opponent first. If I go all-out right away, the fight's over too fast."

"Confident," Luya said, smirking.

Goku tipped his chin. "My turn!"

He launched. Luya met him halfway. Their fists collided; the shockwave gouged rings across the water below. They separated, vanished, reappeared—clack, crack, thud trading clean shots, neither giving ground for long.

They broke apart, both sliding into the same stance out of reflex, hands chambered at the hip.

"Ka—me"

"Ka—mel"

"ha—me"

"ha—me"

"HA!!!"

Twin lances of light one a classic, roaring Kamehameha, the other a God-ki laced variant with a quieter, cutting core met and howled. The sea bucked; spray rose like mountains. The beams ground against each other, then both fighters snapped aside at the last instant, letting the combined blast spear into the clouds and split them open.

"You even use the Turtle School's technique!" Goku laughed, delighted. "That makes us sparring partners and classmates!"

"I've had… good teachers," Luya replied, eyes narrowing as he felt Goku's power climb again measured, playful, not yet his true top.

Not all-out. Not yet. And Luya wasn't either. This was a match, not a death duel.

"Again!" Goku called, aura surging. He cupped his hands; pressure warped the air.

Luya mirrored him, crimson flame drawing tight around a velvet-blue core.

"HAAAA!!!"

They fired. The beams smashed together, detonation rolling across the horizon like thunder on steel.

Far off, Uub swallowed. "That pressure… hard to believe anyone besides Mister Goku could push Super 17 like that."

Goten nodded, awed. "And Dad says he can't sense the other guy at all. That red form is freaky."

Vegeta folded his arms despite the ache in his ribs. "It's divine ki. If a mortal hasn't trained for it, they can't perceive it. Hn. To think there's another route beyond Super Saiyan 4…" His mouth pulled into a thin line. "Damn it."

Back over the sea, the beams snapped apart. Both fighters flashed forward. Fists clashed; knees met; elbows slid past cheeks with hair's-breadth misses. Luya caught a kick, twisted, and hammered Goku down; Goku planted a hand on empty air, flipped, and rocketed back into range with a grin.

"Ha!" Goku's palm flickered; a point-blank blast forced Luya to slip time just enough to skew the impact line. The red aura rippled, intact.

"Neat trick," Goku said, eyes gleaming. "You tweaked the tempo for a blink, didn't you?"

Luya's mouth quirked. "Just enough to make a hole."

They vanished again bap, pak, thoom and then reappeared back-to-back, drifting apart into guard.

Goku laughed, exhilarated. "You know… if Super 17 had kept his palms open, I used to hit him when he couldn't defend while absorbing." His tail flicked. "But you made him overeat instead."

"His reactor couldn't vent god ki," Luya said simply. "He turned himself into a bomb."

Goku's grin softened into something approving. "Smart. And clean."

A breath's span of silence stretched—two warriors hovering above the shattered sea, hearts drumming the same old language.

Goku set his feet and rolled his shoulders. "Okay… one more round? This time I'll push a little harder."

Crimson light climbed Luya's frame like sunrise over steel. "By all means."

They moved at once two streaks, one feral and wild, one serene and divine closing the distance for the next collision, the next laugh, the next test of edges.

And on the horizon, the clouds split again.
