In front of me, humans were aligned in front a few Demons wearing black cloaks that had an eyeball sigil on them, it didn't even take me a fraction of a second before I recognized that these guys weren't Royal gurads, they wore the same cloaks as the law enforcement teams I had keep encountering .
This meant that the whole city by now should have known about the existence of that heroine her in this particular district, yet only 3 of my supposedly allies were here, four if I were to consider Tay representing both hers and her sister's will .
The other people who made an alliance with me hadn't come to offer their support, nor that their support was much needed, but this still count as a grave mistake on their behalf, either they were testing me or they by acting like this were completely forsaken the idea of an alliance with me .
It didn't matter much if they truly did this, I will be able to enrich my own pockets with their treasures after I finish my business here, so in fact it could indeed be considered more beneficial to me in that way .
But even if the first possibility was the actual reason behind them not offering support, them testing me or something like that, they will pay a hefty price for that, but if it was truly the latter and they have betrayed me, even though I believed such actions to not create many waves on the state of the current situation .
I still would want to know the reason to their betrayal, could Devo had managed to tempt them back to his side or could the reason be something else entirely, an imperial decree, the terms of the Binding Contract, later I should ask the three Levan, Tay, Dorax to fill me on what might have happened with these guys during my training session .
But for now, I have a rather important situation to deal with here, approaching the aligned row of humans, I had already inspected my target and found it quite easily thanks to the power in my eyes .
The second I opened my eyes, I found that even without me trying to see the aura of the Demons around me, I was now completely able to do so now without it even costing me anything unlike before, thanks to this unique power, I was able to identify the girl .
She was like a black dot amidst a sea of stars, even other humans were displaying different colorful auras, mostly green and yellow, but only her was not showing any kind of aura, what exactly the reason behind this I don't know for certain .
What I do know with that without any doubt, she was indeed the person I was looking for, strolling towards the area with a bit more ease of mind, I thought that she would have been in a critical condition or even lost a limb or two, what a dangerous thought that was .
Shaking my ridiculous thought, I put a note to check what changes had occurred to my power and put the note in the back of my mind, then I started walking towards the girl hiding behind her robes and wearing a half faced mask, that she seemed to have acquired from somewhere along her adventures, the mask was broken and looking to be literally at the end of its life .
But it was still efficient in covering her identity, but unless she did manage to vanish on the spot somehow, she was bound to be found out soon enough when it's her turn to be checked .
As I took a few steps towards the place she and the other human were standing, a commotion occurred with people screaming, children crying and all kind of chaos broke loose, this all started with a Law Enforcement Team member asking me for my identity and my purpose of being here .
The second I stated my name, there was no need for me to state my business afterwards, they seem to be quite well aware of who I was and what I intended to do, figures that King must have given them some info on me obstructing them sooner or later, they instantly acted as they were ordered and stopped caring about the inspection and instead brandished their weapons at me and started to get ready to attack me .
Some of them were wondering if one of the two strong guys that Devo had sent with them will come to support them, I couldn't help but point them to one direction with my finger, they were alarmed at first but soon they were beyond shocked .
One of the strong guys that they were depending on to save them was laying down in the direction where I was pointing and was completely still like a corpse, I thought that this should be enough to break their confidence and fighting spirit, but it seem that I had underestimated them too much .
Instantly they had recovered from their shock, but due to the fact that we still were on the open and all that just happened was witnessed by the people around us, chaos erupted fully and people started to disperse, she was no different, taking advantage of the situation, I saw that she started to fled as well, not willing to lose sight of her I tried to follow right after .
But my way was blocked by the team of law enforcement in front of me, who suddenly had vials appear in their hands and without a second of delay, they directly consumed whatever that red glimmering liquid in those vials, then it started to take effect instantly .
Their bodies got inflated, their energy swirling around them and connecting each of them to one another, allowing them to yet another great boost in strength, that boost was what gave them the confidence to challenge me, I was surprised a bit at their sudden transformation, so I opened my eyes and saw what was going on with them .
This was a borrowed strength, the cost of borrowing that much of strength was actually their own lives, shockingly enough they still dared to throw away their lives like this for the sake of trying to upper hand me .
These guys were now with gleaming red eyes and seemed to have completely lost their rationality, another side effect of that power they now got, this all took a few breaths of time, then the actual fight started and it ended in no time as well .
They directly dashed towards me after they fired all the Magic Spells and Magical Techniques they have on me, but it failed to even scratch my skin, so they wanted to take the matter of subduing me into their own hands and wanted to beat me in terms of close combat, how wrong were they for that .
There wasn't even a need for me to evade their fallen attacks on me, in fact I took advantage of their attacks to finish this as quickly as possible, there were more than a dozen of them stationed here, all of them got either killed with one punch or did they die soon after from their injuries .
Seeing the cages that harbored Men and Women like animals were enough to convince me that these guys didn't deserve any mercy and so I dealt with them according to the law of the jungle, the strong relish, the weak perish .
I stood amidst the fallen bodies of the fallen enemies, I no longer heard a fighting sounds coming from the other side of this battlefield, the fight on the other three side should have been over now, yet surprisingly none of them had yet to come and report what exactly took place and whether they had won or not .
I didn't have much spare time to go and search for them, directly diving into the alleys the girl seemed to have taken, I started to look for her, after a few seconds strolling across those narrow alleys it, I finally found a trace of her, but I wasn't happy about what I found in the slightest, it seem that I was wrong before when I speculated that she had not been injured .
Even after this short period of time passed, she should have at least being able to move across enough far distance as to not get caught again, like how many other people did, but this didn't happen, the reason was because something was wrong with her .
She was actually suffering from injuries that what prevented her from fleeing successfully, in a dark alley, I was able to see that she was already collapsing on the floor and was currently trying to pull herself to escape, even when her body seemed to have completely given up on her .
He..lp...hel...p....m..e .
Even her voice sounded quite hoarse as she pleaded for somone to come and help her, she seemed to still have not recognized how futile asking other human her for help was, not to mention helping her, they here might directly offer her to the King for a reward .
She finally managed to crawl into a near wall and once she reached that wall, it seem that she had finally gained some life in her, she took a loaf of bread that seemed to be quite hard and looked even spoiled and she started to munch on it, eyes teary, a bitter smile decorating her dry and chapped lips .
W...ho....are there ? .
Unable to take it anymore, I started to approach the desperate girl who was leaning on the wall, hearing the sounds of my heavy steps approaching her, she was startled at first, then soon she was deep stricken with fear, fear resulted from how helpless her situation was .
She still tried to reach for a small rock to protect herself with, but she wasn't even able to reach for it and she kept just struggling in vain while cursing her own circumstances, seeing her like this, I stepped out of the shadows after she had given up on reaching for that rock and was now laying on the floor, sobbing and unable to stay calm anymore .
" Here, President, is this what you are trying to reach for, here take it ? .
The second I appeared to be squatting in front of her and said those words, I saw that she raised her face up with a bit of struggle, she then looked eyes with me and all I saw was deep fear and hatred as she noticed the horns and the weird complexion and the weird eyes, it didn't take her long before she understood that the me in front of her was a Demon through and through, I was no knight in a shining armor coming to her rescue .
Amidst these two different and almost contrasting emotions, there was also clear confusion on those eyes of hers, her new green colored eyes caught me by surprise, but I myself had changed greatly and not that few times since I came to this world as well, so it wasn't that shocking .
She tried to scream, but her voice and words also gave up on her, all she was able to do was quivering and trying to take solving her matters into her own hands, she tried to finish herself off using the piece of stone I just gave her, but I managed to block it for her, she looked at me with hatred, but I forced myself to smile as sweetly as I possibly could in this desperate situation and atmosphere and said :
" President, you can rest now, I will surely find some help for you ? .
I saw the defiance in her gaze only increased when I said this and I believed that she would want nothing right now but to tear me apart completely, but that was completely understandable, I was currently a demon .
I was about to try and make her go to sleep and save whatever amount of energy she still have left in here, but it seem that there was no longer a need for me to do anything at all, she directly collapsed in front of me, she almost hit the hard floor but luckily I caught her on time .
Using my Mental Power, I dragged her with me, afraid to injure her even more and increase her suffering, if I were to hold her like this, she should be fine now, after I finished my business here, I began to head back to where the three Tay, Levan, Dorax were .
I also vowed to teach Devo a good lesson when it's time to solve the conflicts old and new with him once and for all, seeing her pitiful state, I had no doubt that it was caused by him and at least with his blessings, for that he will need to pay with his life .
I did want to ask her about Hana, but in her current condition, I doubt that she will be able to recall anything of value, not to mention that to her, I'm still a Demon, even if I were to try and talk to her now, she will either mislead me on purpose or directly refuse to cooperate with me, so their is currently no need to risk it .
I had already secured her successfully, now give her some rest and some very much needed care and wait for her to restore some of her vitality then there should be no problem with me opening up clearly to her and tell her about my real identity .
As I returned back to where I was before, there was still no sound of fighting just like before, I found this quite strange and so I decided to go check it out myself, as I headed towards that area where they were supposedly fighting .
As I approached that area, I saw traces of quite the devastated damage that was dealt to the place, but even as I was venturing more and more into the area, I found that the scene was still deathly quiet, I suddenly had a bad premonition settling in my heart, I began to pick up my pace and directly stormed into where they were .
As I arrived to my destination, I was met by a different scene than the one I had in mind, I thought that they might be resting after the fight or something, but no they were still fighting, it just seem that they are fighting a whole another kind of battle currently .
The three of them were staring wide-eyed at the one eyed Cyclop who was currently smiling sinisterly as his his eyes had a weird magical sigil appear in front of it, the three of them were standing there entranced completely by the sight of that eye and were unable to move .
