The three of them looked at my grin after hearing the news about the Demon race fall into a disadvantageous situation and were bewildered, Dorax being the most experience one stepped forward slightly and said :
Is there something good might happen due to this kind of development, is this the reason Master is smiling like this ? .
I understood that I had let my real emotions surface and seeing that there was no point in trying to deny it, I cleared my throat and calmed down myself then said :
" Tell me first, who of you had a way to contact the people fighting from those who allied themselves with us ? .
Dorax and Levan looked at me and both had still not joined the war, one his family was exempted from the need to fight, the other had paid half the amount needed to be paid to not be deployed to the battlefield .
But with the other half that hadn't still being paid, his family would need to perform some assassination tasks that will be assigned to them, they were experts in that kind of field, so even though they can't be deployed to fight in the front line, they can still support the army of demons using their own methods .
But in the end neither of the two had any way to contact anyone currently on the battlefield, after all the fight was currently being carried on in the area under the influence of that Shard, meaning that the methods of communication working here won't be working outside the dome of influence that belonged to the city .
They both shook their head and even though this was quite the problem, I still might be able to think of a solution that might be able to work, just as i was engrossed in thinking of a way to use, Tay who seemed to be engrossed in her own thoughts since the second I asked them that question .
But surprisingly she finally seemed to have regained her clarity and she seemed to have found what she and I was looking for she said :
I believe this could be of some help to you, your majesty .
She said this and she presented a necklace to me, the necklace was strangely shaped like a claw and inside this claw was a white diamond like stone, I looked at Tay and waited for her to explain what exactly was the this thing she gave me .
This is Harpies Bright Call, there are two parts of this necklace, my mother had given me one and my sister had one, when combined, you can almost reach anyone as long as you can keep a swift of his aura no matter where he was in the Real World .
But it's split in two like currently, they can be used to contact the person who hold the other part of this necklace, currently my sister have the other part in her bracelet, we had not used it much since we came to this world as there was not much a need to, so we almost completely forgot about it .
Just now I recalled it and was rummaging through the items I have in hope of finding it, Fey should have left it to gather the dust as well, but don't worry Master, this is a Harpy race treasure, it send a special kind of fluctuation that she should be able to hear it perfectly .
You just have to infuse it with Mana from a Harpy for it to work, do you want me to contact her for you now ?.
After hearing what she said, I couldn't help but marvel at the many uses that such a powerful item can be used for, as long as a Harpy is willing to help you use it of course, the other two that saw her withdraw such an item, were quite shocked at her willing to give me such a precious artifact to use .
The two kept mumbling on how precious this item was to the Harpy race and how it has been in the hands of the Harpies and their Queen's for who knows how many eons, the two of them were also quite embarrassed at me berating them for being usless and showering the Harpies with praise .
Giving Tay a bit of the satisfaction that she wanted, but I still postponed calling Fey for the time being, instead I gave Tay another mission and another responsibility, I handed her the human girl and told her to heal and take care of her and order them to head to the Dorell family mansion .
Tay nodded and directly began to heal the injured and quite malnourished Sora as she start rising in the air, we took Levan with us in the chariot and now that the matters here were officially over, it was now time to devise a plan on what I should do next to take advantage of the situation .
Currently the war had all parties in the city busy, which meant that only a few capable people were left behind to hold the forts of the other founding families, not to mention that there would be no more perfect time for me to go ahead and attack Devo than the current time .
Even with the soldiers and guards at his disposal, I fail to see how he might beat me while I have 3 Rulers level powerhouses beside me, not to mention myself, what make the situation more perfect with the absence of the other guys currently engrossed in the war, was because now there would be no issue with them refusing to lend Devo a hand .
With them occupied in the war, even if he tried to call them back in hope of them helping him, he wouldn't be able to do anything if they were to blatantly refuse, because they were sent out of the city to fight against the Beastfolk as per the emperor's wishes for them to do .
I didn't care in the slightest about what either of these guys thought or what might devo be thinking, all I cared about was to set my pieces correct enough on the battle, then when I finally attack, the Demon Emperor will have no way to stop me, if things went as I wished for them to, he won't have to interfere or have much to say .
After all and at the end of day this guy was still the Demon race Emperor, his words carry more weight than my actions, even if I managed to remove Devo from his position and dethrone him, the Demon Emperor can just assign the responsibility to someone else, for this reason, I need to force his hands as well .
The current question on my mind as we went back to the Dorell family was how to achieve that, strength was something but political power was a whole other thing, even though one begotten the other .
I was unable to come with any bright idea on how to do this, that's why I wanted to call Fey and hold a small council in hope of getting any bright ideas that might allow me to be the only suitable person for the job in the eyes of the Demon Emperor .
The plan need also be flawless, even the slightest mistake might let the whole plan crumble, there was also the presence of Blazan and him being quite the variable, it was said that he actually did have some relationship with the original Callen for whatever reason, but that guy is one of people I need to keep my eyes on .
At this point, time wasn't on my side, in a month and maybe a few more weeks, the plan of sacrificing the heroes to unseal that other Spatial Rupture in Troland and if I'm not wrong, most of the people there will be exterminated as well, all for the sake of removing the Shard from having any more influence on that area and finally allow Demons to invade this side .
I don't know how big Troland is, but I can estimate that millions lives will be lost if nothing were to happen and prevent this kind of development, I may have postponed the process by intervening .
But the threat is still there,they still have other heroes from another world to sacrifice, they have even the old heroes from the previous batch to us, if everything were to go south, there was also the situation with Hana, whom I still have no clue where she was or what might she be doing currently .
Everything I do from here on out might decide the fate of the humans in this place, no, Demons aren't here to just exterminate humans, if their plane is to get that Shard, then they will actually need to exterminate all the races living in this land .
It's not wrong to say that right now, I was carrying the burden of saving the whole world on my shoulder, luckily today my strength would increase even more, if things just went the way I wanted it to .
We finally reached the Dorell family state, Tay had already arrived ahead of us, I was surprised to see that there were not quite the few number of guards and Demons from the law enforcement team standing in front of the Dorell family barrier .
They were crowding the place, then after our Chariot seemed to finally catch their eyes, the began to disperse and move away from the Mansion gates, looking at them like this, I already understood what they were after .
Descending from the stairs, no one came to try and stop me from doing so, not a single person tried to obstruct me in anyway for some reason, the guards only started to make a move when Levan and Dorax came down from the Chariot .
They swarmed the two of them and left me there beside the mansion gates feeling an odd feeling, Loger was one of the people who were managing the barrier also saw this happening and was quite bewildered himself, but he still opened the barrier and allowed Tay to go through .
This barrier was an anti-magic barrier, the second a person try to break through it using their magic attacks, he will learn how the word ' regret ' is written, the elements particles that act on this barrier force any magical attack that fell on it to be nullified .
A person trying to break through without having enough physical strength to compete with the power of the barrier will only face death, so even though Tay had arrived for quite some time now .
These guys presence made Loger hesitant to open the barrier and let her go inside, I didn't blame him even slightly for that, this was indeed a good call, I also was reminded of how dangerous things could have ended today or any other day in which Devo declare an attack on the Dorell family .
Dorax should be staying in the family from here on out, just in case something did really happen, he should be able to delay the family destruction for enough time until my arrival .
It wasn't because I had grown to like this demonic family, the reason was much simple than that, it won't look good if my own family were to be destroyed while I try to forge alliance with other families, if this were to happen, most of them would start to doubt my strength .
And if that were to happen, they won't hesitate even slightly to betray me and side with Devo again, for that reason the Dorell family need to continue existing and acting as an anchor to all my future plans .
Finally done with organizing my thoughts, I looked at the scene unfold in front of me and almost chucked, I also finally understood why are those guys acting like this towards me while things were completely different with the other two .
Those lackeys of king Devo were presenting a letter that had Diblosia fiend face like sigil on it, this meant the letter came from the King, they handed the letter to the two guys and the person who was responsible for handing the letter to them bowed slightly and said that the King would appreciate their cooperation .
The two looked at me and I too looked at them and couldn't help the smile which at some point appeared on my face, these guys truly thought that Dorax and Levan were the ones in charge here, how amusing .
Much to the shock of those guards, the two guys accepted the letter and with a hurried steps, they stopped right behind me and Dorax presented the letter forward to me after unsealing it, gasps of shock and bewilderment at what exactly was going on in front of them and what their actions mean filled the place .
Taking the letter from his hand, I started to read the content of the letter, well how shall I put it, this was indeed very much to be expected and it was completely in line with Devo's character .
In the letter, he already knew about me capturing the human heroine, he was now asking Dorax and Levan to cooperate with him and handing her back to him in exchange for a lot more benefits than I had promised the two of them, looking at the two of them, I saw that these guys have already been tamed by me .
The only thing that might make them fell at odd with me currently is to become aware of my true nature as a human and even then, they might just accept it without much of a problem, but it will leave a bad taste in their mouth, due to the relationship between Demons and Humans being quite bad and the fact that I wanted to bring down their entire race to their knees .
But currently this wasn't much of an issue, I tossed the letter back to Dorax and asked him to burn it on the spot, relaying my intentions and answer clear to all the people present .
Ignoring the shouts of clear displeasure that sounded from those guys at me commiting such a thing, the letter had been burnt and I said :
" I believe that you got our answer, relay it to the King of yours and tell him this, the girl won't be returned to him, since I had grown some liking to her, if he still want to get her back, he is welcome to come over and visit at any time .
Ignoring the shouts that cursed at me and called me names like arrogant, presumptuous and so on, I stepped into the family mansion and Dorax and Levan like loyal guards stood at the entrance and released their aura without any restraint .
Forcing all those who still have any thoughts about trying to force their way in, think again .
