--*Charlie's pov*--
I was enjoying my nap when Anastasia tapped me repeatedly saying "wake up char.. We are having class!"...
I groaned putting my ear pods in my ear before I continued sleeping...
"Okay,class! Today's language class is on Mathematics"The teacher said as he looked around the class....
The teacher then looked around after talking for a while to notice that the students were lazing around..some were sleeping others were downright ignoring his lecture... "Pop Test!!!" He said sternly enjoying as the students panicked while seriously going through their notes...
He nodded satisfied as he walked back to the desk to bring out the questions.... As he walked through the tables dropping the papers his eyes wandered over to the charlie who was still resting her head as if she didn't even hear that there was a pop test..
"New student! Get up now!" Mr Sam. The maths teacher said angrily as he hit his small stick on the front of Charlie's table..
Hazel then tapped charlie furiously "*argh* hazel what do you want?" I asked knowing it's only hazel that had the guts to tap me like that.... I blinked my eyes when no one answered trying to take in my surroundings...
"We're having a pop test"Anna whispered into my ears, I then looked up to see Mr Sam our maths teacher with a tight frown on his face....*Damn* ..I thought...
"Oh.. Okay" I replied nonchalantly to Anna deciding it was best not to panick
"Here.." Mr Sam said handing my paper over to me. "I hope you put as much effort into it as you put in sleeping". He said sternly before leaving My seat to the next seat... I just shrugged my shoulders as I put one ear pod back into ear leaving only one ear free..
"Okay... Everyone start!!" Mr Sam said before taking his seat at the podium..
Charlie was humming along to the song she was listening to as she thought of how many minutes she needed in the 1 hour they were given...
"30..just 30 minutes should be enough"..I thought...
''I'll use 5 minutes to scan through the questions, 5 minutes for objective questions, 5 minutes for Theory questions and 5 minutes to cross check.. that's 20 minutes then I'd fake a daze.. Or rest my head for about 5 minutes since I've spent 5 minutes thinking already...."
"Okay! Lets start!" I thought and with a small nod I started reviewing my Objective and Theory questions..
--* August pov *--
Since I got to my seat, I found my eyes drifting off to that girl... The girl with the most beautiful aqueous eyes, Brunette hair and a glass like porcelain skin tone... she was simply... 'breath taking' I thought..*Damn* what the hell am I thinking
I should focus on the quiz... I mentally scolded myself...but my thought couldn't help but wonder again
"How'd she look without the school uniform" I thought as I took in our uniform... For girls it was a white buttoned top(of your choice) then the mini plaited pink skirt that had gold embroidery and then the pink crop top jacket with a similar gold embroidery but also embellished with our school 'wind ville High' badge.. Oh the girls also wore a pink neckerchief that used a gold pin to give it a tied shape.
I then looked at my uniform... Wind ville high gave their boys a white trouser that had both gold and pink embroidery then a white buttoned top (of your choice) paired with the Schools pink crop jacket (Male edition) it also had gold embroidery and the wind ville badge... we boys used the standard long tie but pink with the schools badge encrusted in it then some gold embroidery.
'Huh...? Why was Charlie just staring at her paper...? Does she not know what to write?...' I had thought not knowing every other student was stealing glances at her thinking the exact same thing....
"I think this is a case of a beauty but no brains..." The students beside me whispered and I couldn't help but unconsciously agree ...*sigh* Let me focus on my work.... With that thought I started solving seriously...
"I should be able to finish in 50 minutes having 10 minutes to spare..." August thought...
"30 minutes remaining!" Mr samuel announced...
"Done!" A sharp and crisp melodious voice rang out not too loud... Everyone raised their heads to find the source of the voice when Charlie stood up her posture straight...
As she walked to the podium her whole person releasing a aura that screamed a confident authority.
"What....?!?! What.....?!?!?" The whole class erupted into gasps and whispers.... Don't get me wrong some other students were also done but everyone just assumed that they wrote rubbish and submitted.... So seeing charlie get up to go submit left me both disappointed and disdainful..
--*Charlie's pov*--
As I made my way to the front of the class to submit my paper I heard whispers....
"Beauty with no brain *Tsk*Tsk*"....
"Is she really done...?! In just 30 minutes!!"...
"Before I wanted to marry her but now that she's Obviously lacking upstairs I can't *sigh*"My classmates gossiped one after the other and after those first three comments the class burst into a silent laughter...
I bawled my hands into fists ready to beat up anyone who dared insult me... When I suddenly remembered my brothers and parents warnings..
"Be cool Charlie, we've past this stage..they are just talking cause they've not recognized your intellegience and strength...." and with that little pep talk, I calmly went to submit my paper vowing to shut them up when I take the top spot...!
Just as I was about to leave Chloe, Ruoxue's minion spoke up "*Heh*, I bet she can't pass average.." Chloe sneered saying
"Now Now Chloe, let's not undermine our fellow classmate... I mean If she does pass average I'll give her half a million dollars and if she is the top position I'll give her 1 million dollars" Ruoxue said with pride as she made sure her voice was loud enough for the whole class to hear...
" *Tsk* what a white lotus and green tea.... But a million dollars... Can help her with her secret plan, she can't ask her parents for the money..." As charlie thought of this she suddenly smiled a sweet smile that looked like it carried an evil agenda, she hastily turned around and went to meet Ruoxue...
"Hey! You said it yourself, you'll give me a million dollars... So let's sign a contract.." Charlie declared hastily grabbing a sheet of paper and writing a contract from scratch...(I mean she has been studying business admin in other to handle their families company well in the future)...
"You're aiming for the top huh...? What could you have possible written under 30minutes, an hour alone is steep...!"Ruoxue said indirectly calling Charlie dumb for not knowing that basic fact... Charlie said nothing but put the finished contract on her desk for her to sign...
"Fine, I'll sign it but don't go around telling people I bullied you..!!!"Ruoxue said boastingly as she took the paper adding a few things
"Plus if we're betting let's go all out.. If you top the whole 10th grade you'll get a million dollars but if you fail..." Gu Ruoxue said stopping mid sentence just to lean over her table with a smirk...
"If you fail...you'll have to drop out of 10th grade A class and transfer to 10th grade E class" Ruoxue said high fiving herself for getting rid of the pest named Charlie
Charlie thought about it.... As Wind Ville high was a very popular private school the students were much and either you are a rich elite or you are a super smart person before you can be qualified to enter and due to the large number of students each class was separated into 5 sections at least... Each sections in the same campus but different halls, so in the campus of 10th grade the had class A-E and the class you are in varies according to your intelligence or you could spend an incredible amount of money.... Just as the letters are Class A is the class for toppers and the richest kids in the 10th grade of Wind Ville.... while Class E was the class for the class for the 'failures' in studies and some scholarship students that weren't all to bright but not too dim either as Wind ville does not accept dullards but when faced with geniuses your own effort would be seen as a failure to them....
So yeah there was a big barrier between classes and it was only class B that was privileged to interact with class A at times and Class C seldomly but Class D and E were not to be found in Class A students radius as The students in Class A were seen as Geniuses by the other classes and even teachers.... Thus being in class A was also a matter of getting respect and having a good image in the school... ALL 30 smth class a students occupied the first 30 Smth in terms of position and the position for the classes are calculated generally/Together but each class had different teachers for each subject...
Being demoted or transfered to a lower class can not only impact the quality of teaching you get but also your social standing,dignity and respect in Wind Ville but this little Witch called 'Charlie' wouldn't possibly know this.... Ruoxue thought her smirk deepening
I just chuckles totally seeing through Gu Ruoxue's plans... Anna and Hazel had briefed me on everything during my first week here but still for her to hate me this much bothered me just a little....
I smirked back signing my name swiftly as I asked our teacher to sign as a witness
"Gu Ruoxue Game On...! And don't forget your promise.... Aside from our teacher the whole class bears witness...!" with that I left letting them continue their test...
