Chapter 173 — Judgment of Demons!
Jiang Zhe had logged off.
Only Luo Feng was left in the living room. He raised his glass and drained the deep red liquid in one gulp.
"Senior brother truly knows so much. Every step he takes seems carefully calculated, unlike me—randomly picking cultivation missions and then wasting huge amounts of time and effort uncovering hidden secrets within them."
"The blood of the ancient gods, the Blood Luo Crystal, the Beast God statue, and the gains from the Abyssal World… I really envy him."
Babata floated lazily in the air, quietly listening.
Ever since Jiang Zhe left, it had revealed itself.
Though the old grudges had already dissolved, it still didn't like facing Jiang Zhe directly.
"Stop comparing yourself to that freak… If everything he said was true, then even your teacher would be nothing more than a slightly larger ant in front of him, with zero chance of resisting. The Demon Hand King! That bastard! Him too—if Jiang Zhe wanted to kill him, it'd be far too easy!"
Babata's tiny face was filled with complicated emotions, along with a trace of lingering fear.
Once he calmed down, Babata let out a sigh and said in puzzlement,
"But he's still just at the Universe level?"
"Definitely. Connecting your consciousness to the Virtual Universe allows it to verify your strength. If he had broken through, his name would've already been removed from the Universe-level list in the Primal Secret Realm."
As he spoke, Luo Feng summoned a screen before him. It displayed the roster of Universe-level members in the Primal Secret Realm, still showing only three names—Jiang Zhe, Fito, and Luo Feng.
"Monster! Thank heavens I didn't do anything reckless back then. At least he still has ties of gratitude with the lineage of Yun Mo Planet and is willing to look after you as a junior."
Luo Feng seemed not to hear Babata's lament. Staring at the list, he murmured to himself,
"Among countless Universe-level humans, for my senior brother and me to reach this point is the glory of Earth's lineage. I hope there will be more to follow."
Smiling, he recalled what Jiang Zhe had just said and asked doubtfully,
"Senior brother said he would take me on a cultivation mission. Wouldn't that kind of cheating be forbidden by the company?"
Babata snorted.
"If he doesn't say anything, and you don't say anything, then it's certainly fine. Even if others found out, they'd probably turn a blind eye."
"This kid must be quite favored among the human race!"
"Even Hong and Thunder God managed to find powerful teachers. Do you think he wouldn't have one? It just hasn't been made public, most likely because it's inconvenient to do so."
Babata sighed again.
"Alas, from the same Earth, Luo Feng—you've already fallen far behind them."
"Babata, I'll do my best."
A faint hint of melancholy flashed through Luo Feng's eyes, but it quickly disappeared.
"I'm going to visit Teacher Zhen Yan and hear his advice."
Some time later.
Luo Feng reappeared in the living room.
He sat on the sofa, lifted the wine pot, poured himself another cup, and watched the swirling liquor in the jade vessel, murmuring,
"Teacher also advised me to finish these cultivation missions quickly and break through as soon as possible. It's best not to linger long at the Domain Lord stage. Only at the Sector Lord stage do the real geniuses begin to exert their strength. Teacher encouraged me to compete with even stronger talents, to have an unwavering heart that pushes ever forward—rather than staying behind in the 'kindergarten' showing off… If it weren't for his avatar issues, Senior Brother would've already broken through long ago."
"Sector Lord… Fifty years left!"
"Once I break through to the Sector Lord level, would it be best to apply to return to Chaos City for secluded cultivation?"
Having decided, Luo Feng logged off the Virtual Universe, recalled his exploring Mosha Clan clone, and departed the Labyrinth Star System.
On the return journey, he sent Jiang Zhe an email.
"A mission worth a million points, the most generously rewarded type—plus with Senior Brother there to back me up, I can't miss it. I also want to see how Senior Brother slaughters the undying."
Babata added in,
"I want to see that too."
Luo Feng asked,
"If it's really that easy, do you plan to have Senior Brother avenge Teacher Huyan Bo?"
Babata hesitated for a long time before finally speaking,
"Luo Feng… can I trust you?"
Luo Feng's face lit up with a confident smile.
"Babata, I understand. Teacher Huyan Bo's vengeance—I won't trouble Senior Brother. I'll do it myself."
Meanwhile…
Jiang Zhe was already aboard a mechanical race starship, having arrived at the core of the Sixth Abyss.
At the peak of the Abyss's tallest mountain, the terrain sank inward, forming a crystal-clear pool.
By submerging oneself in it, one would be transported to the Origin Blood Pool.
Long before arriving, Jiang Zhe had already learned of this from Chiying.
Suddenly—
ROAR!
ROAR!
ROOOAR—!
Detecting the intruder, a series of icy dragon roars shook the sky.
The towering peaks surrounding the heavenly pool collapsed one after another.
Revealed beneath the moss and piled rocks were their true bodies—nine majestic dragons, each nearly a thousand kilometers long!
Dark purple scales crackled with arcs of electricity that expanded outward, forming a domain of terrifying electric fields. The arcs magnified into lightning stretching tens of kilometers, their power suffocating.
It was a Domain of the Laws of Lightning.
And these were… the Abyssal Hell Dragons, guardians of the Origin Blood Pool!
Jiang Zhe stepped out from his mechanical starship and put it away.
"Master, they're all Marquis-level strength domains. They must have been tempered into 'undying bodies.' Their combat power fluctuates around 100,000 times that of an ordinary Sector Lord,"
came Orianna's voice in Jiang Zhe's mind. The two were linked in a deep symbiotic state.
Jiang Zhe appeared utterly calm. Under the oppressive weight of the nine overlapping lightning domains, he leisurely studied the Hell Dragons.
"I know. Chiying told me before we came here. I trust she wouldn't deceive us."
"Marquis-level, with a hundredfold life gene baseline… I'm quite curious about their current state."
With his abnormal eyesight as a Sector Lord lifeform, Jiang Zhe could clearly see that there was not a trace of emotion in those draconic eyes—only dullness, lifelessness, like living puppets.
Chiying had explained—every Origin Blood Pool was guarded by such beings to prevent 'mixed-blood' demons from defiling the sacred ground.
They had existed even before the first generation of pureblood demons was born, from an era lost to history.
They were puppets, whose minds contained nothing but battle instinct and the sole core command to guard the Blood Pool.
There was no room for negotiation. Battle began immediately.
The overlapping domains of lightning laws crushed down on Jiang Zhe, limiting his movements. The nine Abyssal Hell Dragons opened their mouths and unleashed beams of compressed undying divine power.
Jiang Zhe's Panling Armor could withstand this combined barrage, but he had no desire to play the masochist. Raising his hand, he casually waved.
"Fragile domains… shatter."
In an instant, the world changed. The lightning that filled the heavens vanished, the law domains collapsed, replaced by vast, endless mineral mountains.
Suddenly, all constraints vanished.
The Void Core materialized beneath Jiang Zhe's feet, unleashing countless phantoms.
In the blink of an eye, hundreds of thousands of Jiang Zhes filled the space like locusts, with the true body hidden among them.
The nine beams of divine power collided together, triggering a cataclysmic explosion spanning tens of thousands of kilometers, obliterating countless phantoms.
Then—
Twelve dark purple stars manifested in the void.
His heavy treasure orbs expanded to a hundred kilometers wide. Despite their "clumsy" bodies, they traced out profound trajectories, smashing into the Hell Dragons.
With the force of 180,000 times a Sector Lord's power, infused with near-Marquis-level comprehension of laws, delivered through top-tier heavy treasures and executed with peak secret techniques…
Such an attack could wound even the essence of an undying Marquis-level body!
The nine Hell Dragons were brutally smashed apart, their divine bodies shattered. Yet in the blink of an eye, countless divine particles regrouped into vast dragon forms.
On the surface, they seemed unscathed.
But in truth, each one had lost nearly 5% of their divine body.
ROAR! ROAR! ROOOAR—!
Sensing the threat from their lost divine flesh, their instincts compelled them to unleash innate secret techniques. Glowing purple runes crawled across their scales.
Eerie shadowy negative energy forms crawled out of their dragon bodies—ghastly wraiths clustering around them.
A quick glance from Jiang Zhe showed that even the Hell Dragon with the fewest wraiths had at least seventeen.
He directed one of his dark purple stars to crash into them.
It passed right through without effect.
Neither the world projection nor any energy, soul, or matter-based attacks could touch these wraiths. They seemed never to have truly existed, mere illusions.
Jiang Zhe, having slain over a hundred Hell Dragons before, understood the principle of these "wraiths" and continued his assault without concern.
—Celestial Swarm!
One dark purple star after another traced out intricate arcs, smashing into the Hell Dragons.
The dragons tried to evade, but under the pressure of his world projection, they could barely move and were forced to resist.
Thus, they were crushed again.
Their divine bodies reformed.
Then the function of the wraiths became clear.
Among the cluster surrounding each Hell Dragon, one would dim or collapse entirely, absorbing the damage in its place.
Their innate secret technique, [Dragon Sovereign], refined slain foes into "vengeful thralls" that could shoulder damage on their behalf.
Simply put:
Unless these thralls were all destroyed, the Hell Dragons couldn't truly be harmed.
Jiang Zhe preferred to think of them as literal "tiger accomplices."
"Annoying things… I'll just flood you with damage until you burst."
Twelve dark purple stars roared out again.
"Or… I'll just slice out your hearts directly!"
A faint flash of bloody lightning streaked through the air.
The Blood-Dissolving Godblade struck. Once its second seal was activated, anything below the hundredfold life gene baseline would collapse completely after three injections of its blood toxin.
The Hell Dragons wore no decent armor. The blade easily cut through.
One dragon was slashed across the back, leaving a horrifying wound dozens of kilometers long. Blood toxins surged in, instantly threatening 20% of its divine body.
This damage was redirected—two wraiths beside it disintegrated, absorbing the hit.
But the blood toxin itself remained, gnawing away. With each strike, pure agony erupted through every particle of divine flesh.
Without even their own will, these puppet dragons had even less resistance to such invasive pain, quickly losing the ability to fight back.
Second slash.
Third slash.
With the third, the accumulated blood toxin finally reached a tipping point—its divine body collapsed at the genetic level.
This wasn't just damage; it was an execution effect, untransferable.
A dragon nearly a thousand kilometers long turned to ash.
And so it went—each one methodically dispatched.
Those trapped within Jiang Zhe's world projection were like Sun Wukong caught in the Buddha's palm, helpless to his whims.
With no self-awareness, and no "self-destruct" orders, they were ultimately slain one by one.
For a few of them, Jiang Zhe even chose to destroy their thralls purely with overwhelming force, then killed them cleanly to preserve their divine bodies—extracting three perfect Marquis-level hearts.
Once the battle ended…
Jiang Zhe and Chiying hovered above the clear lake.
Aside from the shattered nine surrounding peaks, it all looked the same as before, untouched by the battle's aftermath.
"Chiying, aren't you going in?" Jiang Zhe asked.
"Master, for pureblood demons, returning to the Origin Blood Pool can only be done in death.
If I entered, it would be suicide—my flesh would dissolve, my soul burn away, returning to source blood that would instantly be sent to the First Abyss's Origin Blood Pool to nurture the next generation of pureblood demons."
She added with a slightly awkward smile,
"Of course, I crave that source blood. That's why I acted so strangely when we first met. You have incredible potential. If I could have tricked you into staying in the Abyss, I might one day gain access to that source blood and trigger a bloodline regression."
Jiang Zhe chuckled.
"Heh. The Abyssal World is far too small to contain me."
"And it won't be able to contain you either. Train well, so you can one day explore the Primal Universe and even the Cosmic Sea."
With that, he removed the Primal Umbrella from his back and tossed it to Chiying.
"Hold onto this. We'll be back shortly."
Then he dove straight into the clear water.
As the water engulfed him, Jiang Zhe, sensitive to space, immediately felt the warp beginning.
The world blurred. Darkness gave way to blood-red light. A heavy scent of blood invaded his nostrils and burrowed into his mind, stirring the primal sins lurking deep inside.
Jiang Zhe's will was strong, having already experienced countless sinful temptations in dream realms. With a thought, he dispelled all influence.
"Feels like I've stepped inside some creature's stomach," he muttered, glancing around.
A few steps ahead was a small blood pool over three meters wide.
Floating about a meter above it were three fist-sized blood spheres threaded through with dark purple lines forming intricate runes.
"Lightning Source Blood?"
With a wave, he pulled them to him.
Up close, sensing the surging energy within, Jiang Zhe confirmed these were the real deal. Everything was going surprisingly smoothly.
He'd come prepared for the worst—leaving the Primal Umbrella outside with his Candlelight clone carrying his core nucleus, in case things went wrong inside the Origin Blood Pool.
"Master, put them in the Lightning Prison Realm to sever their connection to this space," Orianna reminded.
He did so.
Then, as Chiying instructed, he stepped into the blood pool. As it covered him, he was warped once again—emerging back in the outer lake.
Inspecting his chest, he saw the three Source Blood spheres floating safely in the blood sea of his Lightning Prison Realm, without any anomalies.
Jiang Zhe then boarded his mechanical starship and continued seeking wormholes to travel to the remaining seven Abysses.
He repeated the process, collecting other attribute Source Bloods.
Along the way, he even brought Luo Feng to the First Abyss to let him experience the journey firsthand.
Babata and Luo Feng watched in shock as he cut down nine demon marquises—each with a hundred times the power of Huyan Bo—as easily as chopping vegetables…
