Mary: "You guys won't believe who we saw today."
Alex: "Who?"
Stella: "Professor Ken's son. I recognized him immediately."
Mary: "It's not my fault, he looked different from when we last saw him."
Stella: "It's just some facial hair and a little ruggedness."
Mary: "He's the much-needed sight for sore eyes after losing Ryan and Anthony at the same time."
"Tsk," Alex snorted and lowered his phone, narrowing his gaze as the women continued the conversation. If it were someone else or the circumstances were different, he would have joined in, asking for more details, but all he felt now was anger.
He had been their biggest shipper, fully in support of Ryan starting the relationship. At that point, Cal had been an upgrade from Cole in every way. If he had known things would turn out the way they did, he would have thrown the gifts Carl had sent in the bin.
