Recently, my hands have been feeling very itchy. After reading countless Douluo Dalu fanfics and ending up disappointed more often than not, I've started feeling the urge to write again.
As many of you know, I currently have four novels under this author account:
1. Douluo Dalu: Tang Xiao's Body, No Refund Policy
2. Douluo Dalu: From Bishop to Deity...
3. Douluo Dalu: Oops, Reborn as Tang Buddha's Disciple?
4. Douluo Dalu: So... I Just Have to Wait for You to Die?
Among them, the one I most want to continue is Buddha's Disciple.
When I first started that story, I envisioned a realistic plot with a protagonist who is self-aware, rational, and not excessively biased. A protagonist without grand unrealistic ambitions, who survives through careful maneuvering rather than relying on plot armor.
I wanted to write a story where the MC doesn't obsess over stealing every opportunity from Tang San, doesn't fight him for every treasure, and doesn't spend his life chasing every girl in sight. Instead, he would objectively observe the era, make sensible decisions, and move with the flow of history while pursuing his own path.
In short, I wanted a realistic Douluo story—one less influenced by common clichés and more grounded in how a real person might act in that world.
That's why Buddha's Disciple has always remained a thorn in my heart. I stopped after only four chapters, and I've regretted it ever since.
Of course, if you readers have other preferences, feel free to tell me which novel you'd like to see continued. If your arguments genuinely convince me that another story deserves priority over Buddha's Disciple, I'll gladly consider it without any hard feelings.
And yes... if I guessed correctly, many of you probably want to scold me for disappearing and leaving these stories unfinished for so long.
Go ahead. I deserve it.
Just... please be gentle and don't break my heart too much.
