Synopsis
【Marine Faction · Comedy Commentary · Power Fantasy · Logical Progression】 After transmigrating into the chaotic world of One Piece, where pirates run rampant and war never ends, Karl makes a surprisingly rational choice: He joins the Marines. Stable pay, paid training, fast promotions, free food and housing—plus a warship for transport. Backed by the World Government, it’s a job secure enough to last a lifetime. As a Marine Headquarters Captain, Karl confirms these perks are very real. The problem is—he has no intention of working hard. Because Karl possesses a mysterious Slacking System, one that lets him grow stronger simply by taking it easy. While others fight on the front lines, Karl rises through the ranks by “doing nothing,” his laid-back attitude gradually turning him into one of the most dangerous figures in an age ruled by pirates.

Chapter 1 - The Cheat Finally Arrives

Take a close look at this man. His name is Karl.

At this very moment, his brows were tightly furrowed as he stared intently at the Marine internal newspaper in his hands. More precisely, at a headline titled:

"The 24th Marine Headquarters Recruit Training Camp Is About to Begin."

"Phew—"

Karl let out a long breath, relief finally showing on his face. He folded the newspaper, tore off some tissue paper… pulled up his pants, flushed the toilet, lit a cigarette, and continued killing time.

[Host has accumulated 1,000 instances of paid restroom breaks. The Slacking System has been activated. Detecting the host's profession… Profession successfully bound!]

[Daily Mission Issued]: Slack off for 3 hours. Method unrestricted.

Reward: Chosen Attribute Enhancement Card + Random Bonus Reward.

"Current accumulated time for this workday: 1 hour and 21 minutes. Please keep up the good work."

"…What the hell?!"

Karl slapped his own head in disbelief, suspiciously glancing around the restroom.

Had he finally gone mad from sitting on the toilet too long?

Or… had his long-overdue cheat finally arrived?

That's right. Karl was a transmigrator—someone who had crossed into this familiar yet dangerous world ruled by pirates and endless conflict.

With average talent, average luck, and an even more average background, Karl valued his life far too much to take risks. Left with no real choice, he joined the Marines, clinging to collective strength for survival.

Karl had enlisted at fourteen, starting as a menial errand soldier. After wasting a full ten years of his youth, he finally clawed his way up to Captain of the North Blue's 108th Marine Branch.

To be honest, Karl always believed he was nothing more than an extra in this world.

Other than his good looks, he had nothing worth mentioning.

But now—

His luck had finally turned.

"A system? A Slacking System?"

"Yes."

...

After communicating with the system, Karl finally understood what this so-called Slacking System was all about.

In simple terms, as long as he did things unrelated to his official duties during work hours, the system would record it as slacking time. Once the daily quota was met, rewards would be issued.

Karl's bound profession was Marine.

His job? Maintaining public order.

Which meant that anything unrelated to maintaining order counted as slacking.

For Karl, this was ridiculously easy.

He wouldn't dare brag about much—but slacking off?

That was his specialty. Otherwise, he wouldn't still be stuck as a branch captain.

[Slacking Career Mode Activated]

[Career Mission Issued – Training Camp Turmoil]:

Join the Marine Headquarters Recruit Training Camp as a new recruit and begin your joyful slacking journey at Marine HQ.

Reward: Random Devil Fruit.

[Achievement Reward – "1,000 Paid Bathroom Breaks" Unlocked]: Still as a Maiden

Effect: While stationary, stamina recovery speed is doubled.

Karl froze for a moment before instinctively reopening the newspaper.

"The 24th Recruit Training Camp…" he muttered softly.

"Good. I still have time. I just need to talk to the boss. Although…"

After that, Karl stubbornly stayed in the restroom for another full hour, finishing an entire pack of cigarettes. Only after feeling refreshed did he finally leave and head straight for his superior's office.

Knock, knock, knock.

"Come in!"

Karl pushed the door open. Inside sat a balding, middle-aged man wearing a Justice cloak, calmly sipping coffee.

Bang!

Karl slammed the newspaper onto the desk in front of Commodore Charles, locking eyes with him.

"Boss Charles," Karl said in a low, firm voice,

"I want to go study at Marine Headquarters."

Charles narrowed his eyes.

How long had it been since he'd seen Karl this energetic? Two years? Three?

Seeing his old subordinate regain his fighting spirit filled him with genuine relief.

What Charles didn't know was that Karl only wanted to clear a mission—and preferably slack off in a new environment.

"Karl," Charles said slowly, "I've tried recommending you to Headquarters' training camp more than three times. You refused every time. Why are you suddenly volunteering now?"

"No special reason," Karl replied casually.

"I just want to see what these so-called elite Marines are really capable of."

Charles sighed. Clearly, Karl wasn't telling the whole truth—but he didn't press further.

"Fine. Just don't get crushed by those monsters over there. Remember—Branch 108 will always be your home."

Karl nodded vigorously, deeply moved.

If he couldn't survive at Marine Headquarters, he'd come back and proudly become a professional salary thief.

Two days later, a Marine warship sent from Headquarters arrived on schedule.

The officer in charge was named Shuzo—a dark-skinned man with unusually long arms, a rugged face, and the rank of Headquarters Colonel. The moment he saw Karl, he showed zero courtesy.

"Pretty boy! What're you standing around for? Don't waste my time. I've still got plenty of rookies to pick up!"

Karl froze for a second before reacting.

What's wrong with being good-looking?

Did I eat your rice or something?

Do you even know how popular I am with noble ladies around here?

Of course, Karl only complained internally.

Judging by Shuzo's well-developed muscles, Karl had no doubt the man could punch him to death.

"Yes, sir!"

Dropping all pretenses, Karl hurried aboard the medium-sized warship. After a rushed farewell to Charles, the ship soon left the harbor and headed toward the next branch.

Seven days later, the warship sailed steadily toward Marine Headquarters—Marineford.

Karl leaned lazily against the railing, backlit by the setting sun.

Not far away, several female Marines stared at him dreamily. Karl smiled at them, and they immediately turned away, blushing too hard to meet his gaze.

Truth be told, Karl wasn't particularly bulky—he stood at only 192 centimeters tall.

Black suit pants wrapped around his long legs, while his white shirt hung loosely open at the collar, revealing a sharply defined upper body. Deep, expressive eyes paired with a dangerously handsome face made him a walking hormone generator.

No wonder those female Marines were completely captivated.

Attribute Panel unlocked.

Would you like to view your attributes now?

It had been exactly ten days since Karl obtained the Slacking System.

He had flawlessly completed every daily mission.

He now possessed 10 Chosen Attribute Enhancement Cards, along with a pile of miscellaneous rewards—chips, soda, and other junk. Though once, when luck truly smiled on him, he'd gained 100 days of lifespan in one go.

Without hesitation, Karl thought:

"View attributes."

Host: Karl

Age: 24

Perception: F-

Special Ability: Still as a Maiden

Karl frowned slightly—but quickly relaxed.

Before getting the system, he'd always been an utterly ordinary person. And in this world, ordinary people were a dime a dozen.

But now—

"System. Use five Chosen Attribute Enhancement Cards to strengthen Physique."
